Ruby Compton Watts, 89, Trenton, died at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at Hearthstone Place, Elkton, of natural causes.
Services will be at noon Friday at Maddux Funeral Home, Pembroke, with the Rev. Jessie Tharpe officiating. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery, Trenton. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday until time for the service.
A native of Todd County, she was born Aug. 23, 1911, the daughter of the late James Thompson and Mary Isabel Compton. She was a homemaker and a member of the Trenton Garden Club, the Trenton Grandmothers' Club, the Pennyrile Rose Society, the Zion Homemakers and the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Her husband, W.O. Watts Jr., died in 1993. A son, William O. ‘'Billy'' Watts III, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Richard C. Watts, Trenton; a brother, Rip Compton, Smyrna, Tenn.; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

GUTHRIE, Ky. -- Services for Lucille Byars, 85, Guthrie, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lester Chapel Baptist Church, with the Revs. Charles West and Ora B. Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Lester Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight at Gamble Funeral Home, Hopkinsville. Trinity Funeral Home, Paris, also was in charge of arrangements.
She died Friday morning, Oct. 13, 2000, at Gateway Medical Center, Clarksville, Tenn.
A native of LaFayette, she was born June 8, 1915. She was the daughter of the late Archie and Fannie Knott Wood and was a Lester Chapel Baptist Church. She was the widow of Grady Byars. A son, Vernon Byars, and a daughter, Robbie Carneal, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, the Rev. James Byars, Fairview, and Tommy Byars, Killeen, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. George (Dorothy) Meriwether, Guthrie; and 23 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
LILLIAN DAWSON
CADIZ, Ky. -- Lillian Futrell Dawson, 88, Cadiz, died at 2:15 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, at Trigg County Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Goodwin Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jack Larwa officiating. Burial will follow in East End Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 3 this afternoon at the funeral home.
A native of Tobaccoport, Tenn., she was born Aug. 4, 1912. She was the daughter of the late Bail Bartee and Laura Jane Futrell Futrell and was a homemaker and a member of Linton United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for several years.
She also wrote a column for The Cadiz Record newspaper for several years and was a charter member of both the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Trigg County Homemakers Club. She was a member of Linton Eastern Star chapter No. 149, where she served positions as worthy matron and chaplain. Her husband, Richard Carroll Dawson, died in 1967.
Survivors include a son, Don Dawson, Hendersonville, Tenn.; a daughter, Mrs. William (Bobbie J.) DeLones, Hendersonville; and five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
DALLAS THOMPSON
PRINCETON, Ky. -- Dallas Thompson, 91, Lamasco, died at 12:35 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, at Caldwell County Hospital.
Services were at 2 p.m. Monday at Lamasco Baptist Church, with the Revs. Henry Ramey and Dean Ray officiating. Masonic services were Sunday at Morgan's Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Saratoga Church Cemetery, Lyon County.
A native of Trigg County, he was born May 1, 1909. He was the son of the late Herbert Ernest Thompson Sr. and the late Minnie Belle Mathis Thompson and was a farmer and a member and deacon of Lamasco Baptist Church.
At the church, he was church clerk for 38 years, a Sunday school for 40 years, Sunday school superintendent and church songleader. For 50 years, he was a member of Parkersville Masonic Lodge No. 484, the Eastern Star of Eddyville No. 471 and of Clay chapter No. 28 RAM of Princeton. His wife, Charleen Robertson Thompson, died in 1977. A daughter, Wanda Brown, died in 1982.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne Thompson, Lamasco, and Lindy Thompson, Paducah; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

BRYCE ALEXANDER
Bryce M. Alexander, 79, Henderson, died at 12:25 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, at Methodist Hospital.
Services were scheduled for this morning at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, Henderson, with the Rev. Jerry Pearcy officiating. Graveside services were to be this afternoon at Hawkins Cemetery, Christian County.
He was a member and deacon of Watson Lane Baptist Church and was retired from Sun Oil Co.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Alexander, Henderson; three sons, Larry Alexander, Evansville, Ind., and Gary Alexander and Randy Alexander, both of Henderson; a brother, J.D. Alexander, Evansville; two sisters, Alma Hensley, Crofton, and Gail Finley, Cadiz; and five grandchildren.
