RAY BOYCE
CADIZ, Ky. -- Graveside services for Ray Boyce, 88, Hanson, formerly of Trigg County, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Bloomfield, Mo.
There will be no visitation. Goodwin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He died Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at the Western Kentucky Veterans Center, Hanson, of natural causes.
A native of Bloomfield, he was born Dec. 23, 1914, the son of the late Albert Newton and Ada Mae Palmer Boyce. He was a retired merchant and was a World War II Army veteran. He was a Methodist.
His wife, Belva Taylor Boyce, preceded him in death. A son, Jimmy Boyce, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include a sister, Virginia Hesbitt, Cadiz, and two grandchildren.
THOMAS TURNER
ELKTON, Ky. -- Services for Thomas "Tommy" Turner, 77, Elkton, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Latham Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Sweeney officiating. Burial will follow in Joines Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
He died of natural causes at 5:08 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2003, at Hearthstone Place.
A native of Breathitt County, he was born Feb. 20, 1926. He was the son of the late Willie D. and Fannie Turner and was a carpenter and a member of Joines Chapel General Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Azie Turner; five sons, Thomas Turner Jr., Paul Turner and Robert Turner, all of Hopkinsville, Delmer Turner, Clifty, and Harvey Turner, Cadiz; two daughters, Shirley Laster and Eva Edwards, both of Clifty; a brother, Greenberry Turner, Clifty; three sisters, Mable Ford and Catherine England, both of Louisville, and Hannie Bell Laster, Clifty; and 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
LUISE PATTERSON
TRENTON, Ky. -- Luise Patterson, 83, Trenton, died at 9:34 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2003, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center, Hopkinsville, following an illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Latham Funeral Home, Elkton, with the Rev. John R. Christian officiating. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight and from 9 a.m. until the services Sunday at the funeral home.
A native of Todd County, she was born Feb. 25, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Leslie J. and Lottie Hancock Basford and was a homemaker and a member of Trenton Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Patterson Shemwell, Elkton; and two grandsons and a great-granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Edgewood Cemetery.
MITCHELL OVERTON
Mitchell Howard Overton, 85, Cherrywood Drive, died of natural causes at 4:15 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2003, at Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home.
Services will be at 1 p.m. this Monday at Babbage Funeral Home, with the Rev. Donald Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Cayce Family Cemetery, St. Paul Road, Oakwood, Tenn.
There will be no visitation.
A native of Montgomery County, Tenn., he was born June 9, 1918. He was the son of the late Edward Overton and the late Lottie Fletcher. He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Paul AME Church, Oakwood.
Survivors include a son, Marion Cordell Overton, Gary, Ind.; three daughters, Geniece R. Davila, Clarksville, Tenn., Raphine Overton, Hopkinsville, and Olivia Champion, Cincinnati, Ohio; and 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
LADELLA McGOWAN
Ladella G. McGowan, 60, Idlewild Spur, died of natural causes Sunday, June 1, 2003, at Gateway Medical Center, Clarksville, Tenn.

CADIZ, Ky. -- Ann Feltner Berthelot, 69, Nashville, Tenn., formerly of Cadiz, died of natural causes this morning, June 2, 2003, at Mariner Health Care Center, Nashville.

Robert Banks
Retired postal worker and educator Robert Banks, 86, formerly of Hopkinsville, died Thursday, May 15, 2003, of natural causes in Potomac, Md., where he had been making his home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Virginia Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Mitchell O. Fort officiating. Visitation will be from 7 until 9 p.m. Wednesday at Virginia Street Baptist Church. Mason and Sons Funeral Home, Madisonville, is in charge of arrangements.
A native of Hopkinsville, he was born April 19, 1917, the son of the late Nora and Beverly Banks.
He is a graduate of Attucks High School and Kentucky State College and attended graduate school at the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville. He taught at Attucks for 13 years and retired from the Postal Service in 1986 after 20 years service.
He served in the Army from 1943 until 1946 and was awarded the Bronze Star with clusters.
He was a former board member of the United Way, was a former member of the board of the Multi-Purpose Center and had been a district commissioner of the Whitepath District, Boy Scouts of America. He had also served as an executive board member of the Audubon Council of Boy Scouts of America.
He was a member of Pioneers, the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity and was a Mason and Shriner. He was a member of the Virginia Street Baptist Church where had been a long-time Sunday school teacher. His wife, Helen Elizabeth Hayes Banks, died in 1993.
Survivors include a son, Robert Darryl Banks, Potomac, Md., and three grandchildren.

Margaret S. Litchfield
Margaret S. Litchfield, 73, retired educator, died in her sleep at noon Sunday, April 20, 2003, at her Merriwood Parkway home after suffering an apparent heart attack.
She was the wife of veteran newsman and Kentucky New Era wire editor Ken Litchfield.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Christian Heights United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Busch officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at MadduxFuquaHinton Funeral Home.
A native of Christian County, she was born Dec. 5, 1929, the daughter of the late E.O. and Woodson Turner Stewart of Gracey.
She had been a special education teacher for many years and was one of the first special education teachers in the Christian County school system. When she retired in 1992 she was teaching at Indian Hills. Prior to that she had been the special education teacher at the Civitan School.
She was a longtime member of the Civitan Club and had been a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club and had been active in Special Olympics.
She had served on the governor's Developmental Disabilities Council. She was a member of the local Retired Teachers Association, the Christian County Teachers Association and the Kentucky Education Association.
She was a member of Christian Heights United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Sherry Litchfield and Michelle Dobbins, both of Hopkinsville, Gerry Litchfield, Louisville, Michael Litchfield, Efland, N.C.; a sister, Mary Turner, Gracey, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
