Gladys Donahue Lemaster
1929-2007
MOREHEAD - Gladys Donahue Lemaster, age 78, of Roxanne Lane, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Monday, July 9, 2007, at the Life Care Center in Morehead. Born May 17, 1929, in Morgan County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Bert and Cora Byron Donahue.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Ethel Black, Zealliea Behnke, Lorene McKinney, Lloyd Donahue, and Crystal Donahue.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Delbert W. Lemaster; one daughter, Debbie Vinson and her husband Dave of Lexington; one granddaughter, Ashley Wood of Taylor Mill, Kentucky; and two brothers, Ira Donahue of Morehead, Kentucky, and Arville Donahue of Ashland, Kentucky.
Mrs. Lemaster was a homemaker. She was a member of the Clearfield Tabernacle First Church of God and enjoyed singing in the choir.
Funeral services were conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Doyle Thomas officiating. Burial was in Brown Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dave Vinson, Mark Eccles, Gene Hamm, Ted Trent, Cecil Trent, and J. C. Jolley.
Visitation was. Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
John Lykins
1947 - 2007
OHIO - Mr. John Wayne (John Boy) Lykins, 59, of Aberdeen, Ohio, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at his residence. He was a United States Army Vietnam War Veteran and was awarded many medals for his service to his country, including the Purple Heart. John was an employee of Dayton Power & Light for thirty years and was a former fireman and E.M.T. for the Aberdeen Fire Dept. and Life Squad. He was also a member of The Millcreek Christian Church, The V.F.W. in Ripley, Ohio, the Moose Lodge in Maysville, KY and was an avid bowler at the Town and Country Lanes in Aberdeen, Ohio. Even though John fought a battle with cancer for over a year, he never stopped smiling or loving his family, friends or the Lord.
John was born on December 4, 1947 at Hayswood Hospital in Maysville KY, the son of Alene (Clary) Lykins and the late Everett Mitchell Lykins. He was also preceded in death by paternal grandparents, John and Rosa Lykins and maternal grandparents, Arthur and Stella Clary.
In addition to his mother, Alene Lykins, John is survived by one daughter, Kristy Lykins Ellis of Hillsboro, Ohio; two grandchildren, Chip Hilderbrand of Aberdeen, Ohio and Erica Hilderbrand of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Debbie Stone and husband Steve of Morehead, KY.; one brother, Jerry Lykins and wife Angie of Maysville, KY.; four nephews - Kevin and Michael Lykins, both of Maysville, Tony Lykins of Pittsburg, PA. and Trevor Stone of Morehead, KY.; two nieces - Tabitha Stone of Morehead, KY. and Stephanie Fryman of Maysville, KY.; several great nieces and nephews and special friends, Doris and Wilbur Gaither of Ripley, Ohio.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, June 29, 2007 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley, Ohio. Pastors Allan Hutchinson and David Wirth officiated. Interment in Hiett’s Chapel Cemetery near Ripley, Ohio. Military honors provided at the cemetery by The American Legion Post #367 of Ripley, Ohio. Millie Campbell
1934-2007
JACKSON – Millie Campbell, 72, of Jackson, died Sunday, April 8, 2007 at her home. She was a homemaker.
She was born Oct. 27, 1934 at Clayhole to the late Green and Susie Roberts Southwood.
Survivors include her companion, Jay White of Jackson; one daughter, Valerie White and her husband Richard of Morehead; two sisters, Ethel Combs and Amanda Neace, both of Clayhole; and one granddaughter, Emily Ann White of Morehead.
Services are Wednesday, April 11 at 11 a.m. at the Breathitt Funeral Home Chapel at Jackson with the Rev. Doug Finley, the Rev. Clyde Kilborn and the Rev. Emmitt Campbell officiating. Burial at T Point Cemetery at Clayhole.
Pallbearers: Mike Neace, Lee Ellis, Drewey Lee Jones, Claude Campbell, David Lee Campbell, Ossie Noble, Frank Neace and Jimmy Hoffman.
Breathitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Cletis V. Mabry
1912 – 2007
MOREHEAD – Cletis V. Mabry, 95, of Mansfield, Ohio formerly of Elliott County, Kentucky passed away Sunday, April 8, 2007 in the Crystal Care Center in Mansfield.
He was born on February 16, 1912 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of the late Robert and Annie Tylee Mabry.
Mr. Mabry was a retired truck driver from Artisian Industries. He attended the Wyandotte Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed fox hunting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Tennie Goodan Mabry, one daughter, Garlene Kiser, one brother and two sisters.
Survivors include three sons, Jay Mabry, Robert Mabry and Eugene Mabry all of Mansfield, Ohio, five daughters, Betty Turner of Lexington, June McDaniel of Elliott County, Gay Newman of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Rose Bender of Mansfield, Ohio and Tobie McDonald of Kingston, Tennessee, one brother, Ivan Mabry of Irvine, thirty grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 11, 2007 in the McDaniel Cemetery in Elliott County with Rev. Austin Carter officiating. Visitation is from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 Tuesday at Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home.
William Alexander Littleton
1986-2006
MOREHEAD - William Alexander Littleton, age 20, of Wellsburg Road, Foster, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2006 at the University of Cincinnati Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born September 8, 1986, in Campbell County, Kentucky, he is the son of Larry G. and Beverly J. Fryman Littleton of Foster, Kentucky. Besides his parents, he is survived by two sisters and one brother: Heather and Jamie Clos and Amy and Bill Thorton, all of Brooksville, Kentucky and Chase and Laura Littleton of Foster, Kentucky. Other survivors include his brother-at-heart now serving in Iraq: Michael and Erin Puccini of Fort Carson, Colorado.
Mr. Littleton was an employee of Meyer Tool and a member of Brooksville Baptist Church.
Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 2006, at Moore and Parker Funeral Home in Brooksville, Kentucky, with Elder Cephas Littleton officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Augusta, Kentucky.
Fred Allen Puckett
1942-2006
MOREHEAD - Fred Allen Puckett, age 64, of US 60 East, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2006, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. He was born April 5, 1942, in Rowan County, Kentucky, and is the son of Allen Puckett of Greenwich, Ohio, and Janice May Parker of Gates, Kentucky. He was raised by his grandparents, the late Henry and Jessie May, along with their eleven sons and three daughters.
In addition to his parents, Fred is survived by his wife, Marian Jett Puckett, whom he married
on August 18, 1968; three sons: Mark Puckett of Warsaw, Indiana; Scott Puckett of Morehead, Kentucky, and David Puckett of Muncie, Indiana; three daughters: Mary Annette Miller of Warsaw, Indiana; Kimberly Draper of New Castle, Indiana; and Lori Puckett of Muncie, Indiana; two brothers: Harvey Puckett of Greenwich, Ohio; and Hershal Puckett of Union City, Indiana; five half-brothers: Litton Parker of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, Tee Parker, Joe Parker, Jeff Parker, and Clifton Parker, all of Morehead, Kentucky; two half-sisters: Debbie Fannin and Linda Hamm, both of Morehead, Kentucky; 15 grandchildren, 1 great grandson; and 3 step grandchildren.
After Fred’s retirement in 1993 from General Motors in Muncie and Ft. Wayne, Indiana, he worked as a mechanic and carpenter. He also enjoyed hunting. Fred attended the Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church on Christy Creek.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, October 29, 2006, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Elder Irvin Hogge and Elder Carmen Gillum officiating; burial will follow in the May Cemetery. Pallbearers: John May, Jeff Parker, Joe Parker, George May, Gardner May, and Dwayne May. Visitation is after 3 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2006, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
Ken "Button" Adams
1953-2007
FLORIDA - Ken "Button" Adams, age 53, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2007, at Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, Florida, following a battle with cancer.
Ken "Button" Adams was born September 6, 1953, in Bath County, Kentucky, to Clyde Adams and Christine Bowling Adams Shields. The family moved to Farmers, Kentucky, when Kenneth was three years of age. He attended Farmers Grade School from 1959-1967 and Rowan County High School from 1967-1971.
Ken "Button" Adams had a smile for everyone and never forgot his childhood friends Scott McClain, Tom Jones and Steve Davis and the memories he made with them fishing, playing ball and sledding on Airport Hill.
Ken had a pure appreciation for the sheer beauty of Cave Run Lake and the memories of the time he spent there. Ken remained a Die-Hard Fan of the University of Kentucky basketball team and made sure that those around him knew they had the "Greatest" basketball program in the nation.
Ken enjoyed the simple things in life and enjoyed nature and all it had to offer. He was employed as an Electrical Journeyman most of his life and was highly respected in his field. His final place of employment was with Electrical Machinery Enterprises of Tampa, Florida.
Ken is survived by his loving wife, Sherri Adams of Bradenton, Florida; daughter, Kaci Adams Sauer of Ewing, Kentucky and stepgranddaughter, Halli Nicole Nguyen of Holly Springs, North Carolina. Ken was one of eight children and is also survived by his mother, Christine Bowling Adams Shields of Rockingham, North Carolina; sisters, Cheryl "Sugar" Snipes of Miamisburg, Ohio, Regina "Sis" Smith of Rockingham, North Carolina, and Sue Ridgon of Hillsboro, Kentucky; brothers, Jerry "Goody" Adams of Lake Panasoffkee, Florida, and Mitchell "Mickey" Adams of Lexington, Kentucky; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Ken was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Adams in 1966; a sister, Kandase "Kay"Adams in 1972; and a brother, Ronnie Adams in 1996.
Ken had a special message for all of his family and friends it was "All smiles and no tears remember the good memories we shared." To Kaci his daughter an apology from his heart and to those who rallied around him a special Thank you for the support and memories made during his final days.
A memorial service was held in celebration of Ken's life in Bradenton, Florida, on Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at 7 p.m.
A memorial bench will be placed in the Jones Cemetery in Midland, KY in remembrance of him.
Burnest Estep
1926-2007
MOREHEAD - Burnest Estep, age 81, of Cranston Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, April 30, 2007, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. Born April 19, 1926, in Carter County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Lake and Letha Thompson Estep.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Dexter Monroe Estep and Jeffrey Lee Estep; one granddaughter, Rebecca Gail Estep; one grandson, Jason Clark; five brothers, Ernest, Ivan, Elmo, Jason, and Odell Estep; and three sisters, Janice and Sue Estep and Grace Plank.
Burnest is survived by his wife of sixty years, Vada Plank Estep; three sons, Jerry Estep, Burnest Allen Estep, and Scottie Estep, all of Morehead, Kentucky; ten daughters, Arnetta Tackett, Lois Maher, Vickie Walling, Pamela Clark, Nancy Dillon, Hester Brown, Fern Smith, Melissa Ritchie, and Samantha Conley, all of Morehead, Kentucky, and Donna Pernell of Springfield, Ohio; 34 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Other survivors include two brothers, Ray Estep of Bloomington, Indiana, and Ronald Estep of Morehead, Kentucky; and three sisters, Alta Gulley of Morehead, Kentucky, Eula Faye Estep of West Liberty, Kentucky, and Carol Jean Deckard of Bedford, Indiana.
Burnest was a former logger, farmer, and heavy equipment operator.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Cecil Ison and the Rev. Lloyd Dean officiating; burial will follow in the Estep Cemetery on Cranston Road. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
