Charles Edward Hamm
1956-2008
MOREHEAD - Charles Edward Hamm, age 52, of McBrayer Road, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at the King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky.
Born April 4, 1956, in Montgomery County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Oscar Levi Weldon Hamm and Darcus Virginia McKenzie Hamm. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Arnold Lee Hamm on January 4, 2007; one sister, Geneva Hamm on October 14, 2007; and one half sister, Dorothy Vanlandingham in 1971.
Charlie is survived by his fiancée, Margo Collins of Morehead, Kentucky, and her daughter Nova ; two daughters, Chasity Anne Hamm of Clearfield, Kentucky, and Rachel Nicole Carroll of Olive Hill, Kentucky; and seven grandchildren, Morgan, Madison, Jesse, Alexis, Jasmine, Taylor, and Stevie.
Other survivors include four sisters, Eula Crisp, Beulah Holbrook, Betty Day, and Lynda Bates, all of Morehead, Kentucky; three brothers, David Hamm of Salt Lick, Kentucky, Howard Hamm of New Paris, Ohio, and Oscar Hamm, Jr. of Nicholasville, Kentucky; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He also leaves many close lifelong friends who will mourn his passing.
Charles was a self-employed rock mason. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, scouting the woods for herbs, and the magazines, Fur, Fish and Game and Good Old Days. He also loved spending time with family and friends and playing the guitar at get-togethers.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr., and Evangelist Joe Fraley officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be James Holbrook, Joe Fraley, Brandon Ferrell, Billy Bates, Joe Slone, Ernie Holbrook, Mark Hamm, and Bobby Hamm.
Mary Evelyn Fultz Jones
1928-2008
MOREHEAD - Mary Evelyn Fultz Jones, age 80, of Atlanta, Georgia, formerly of Morehead, passed away Tuesday, April 15.
Born January 11, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Orville and Mary Elizabeth Cundiff Fultz of Morehead. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Orville W. Fultz, Jr. and Elijah Monroe Fultz.
Survivors include two brothers, Hubert T. “Tommy” Fultz and Kenneth Ray Fultz of Mansfield, OH, and six sisters, Loretta Hamilton of Hebron, IN, Edna Cummings of Lexington, OH, Jean Buckner of Winchester, KY, Myrtle Chesshire of Texarkana, TX, Betty Lipps of Mansfield, OH, and Patricia Boyd of Detroit, MI.
Entombment was Thursday, April 17, 2008, in Atlanta, Georgia.
Travis Alan King
1979-2008
OLIVE HILL - Mr. Travis Alan King, age 29, of Horton Lane, Olive Hill, passed away Friday evening, April 11, at his residence.
Mr. King was born March 1, 1979, in Oakland County, Michigan, and is a son of Gary Alan King and Sharolyn Brown King both of Michigan.
Travis was an employee of Jefferson Cogswell CPA Office in Morehead, and was of the Church of God faith.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother and an infant sister; parental grandfather, Thurston King.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one son, Daven King of Canton, Michigan; three brothers, Roger Birdsall of Mio, Michigan, Doug Fiedler of Monroe, Michigan, and Chris Fiedler of San Diego, California; two sisters, Shana Birdsall of Highland, Michigan and Sharon Parsons of Howell, Michigan; paternal grandmother, Virginia King Salyer; he also leaves a host of other family members, neighbors and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 14, at the Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Paul Zornes, Brother Jason Johnson and Brother Dwayne Johnson officiating. Burial followed in the Thomas King Cemetery on Rose Ridge Road in Olive Hill.
His cousins will serve as pallbearers.
Billy Marvin Mains
1959-2008
AUGUSTA - Billy Marvin Mains, 48, of Augusta died April 16, 2008 at home. He was born on August 17, 1959 to the late Glendola and Bennie Francis Mains, Sr. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He is survived by his wife Jamie Blevins Mains whom he married
March 6, 1987 He is also survived by his children Jason Caudill of Lexington, Tara Caudill Howard of Hillsboro, Ky, and Hali Jo Mains of Augusta and his grandsons Gavin Tyree Wallace and Maddox Wayne Howard. He is survived by his brothers and sisters Connie Faye Poe of Brooksville, KY, James Allen Mains, Bennie Francis Mains, and Belinda Jo Mains all of Augusta. He was preceded in death by a daughter Samantha Nicole Mains and two brothers Ronald Ray Mains and Garry Lynn Mains. Visitation will be 5-9 pm on Friday at Moore & Parker Funeral Home in Augusta. MOREHEAD - Brian Sierra, son of Santos Sierra and Nicolasa Maldonado, was stillborn Monday, April 14, 2008 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
Graveside services were conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at the Hillsboro Cemetery.

Dr. George S. Tapp
1935-2008
MOREHEAD – Dr. George S. Tapp of Morehead passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, following a long illness. He was 72. Soft spoken, polite, and exhibiting a keen dry wit, George was a gentleman in every respect.
George was born on July 18, 1935, in Winchester and worked the family farm while growing up. While still very young, George developed a lifelong passion for education, reading every book available in the school library, and later becoming the first of his family to attend college. After graduating from Clark County High School in 1953, George attended Transylvania University receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and a Master’s degree in education in 1966. He subsequently obtained his PhD. in psychology from the University of Kentucky.
George served as professor of psychology at Morehead State University for 33 years and spent two decades as Chairman of the Department of Psychology. In addition, George provided testing services for six area school systems including Rowan County. Until shortly before his death, George also served as a consultant for the Commonwealth of Kentucky performing evaluations for disability applicants.
George is survived by his wife of 51 years, the former Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Lipps of Lexington, and two brothers, Ken and Maynard Tapp. George and Betty have three children, Roy Michael Tapp who resides in Winchester with his wife Delora, David A. Tapp who resides in Somerset with his wife Patty, and Laryn Ann Martin who lives in Morehead with her husband, Shannon. George is also survived by four grandchildren, Adam Tapp, Katherine Elizabeth Tapp, Adrian Johanna Tapp and Morgan Hunter Tapp, as well as two great grandchildren, Claudia and Elliot. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Tapp and the former Alice Hunter, both of Winchester.
George led an active life. Many college students were surprised by his athleticism on campus basketball courts. For many years, George also played tennis, racquetball and softball, but his interest in these sports all paled to his love of pick-up basketball.
Visitation will be held at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead on Friday, April 18, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A private memorial service and internment will follow at The Lexington Cemetery. Expressions of condolence may be made at the funeral home, or in lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to St. Claire Hospice and Palliative Care, 222 Medical Circle, Morehead, KY 40351.
Evangeline Wilson Enderle
1926-2008
MOREHEAD - Evangeline Wilson Enderle, age 81, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, February 11, 2008, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.
Born April 23, 1926, in Antigo, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late David Allen and Erla Click Wilson. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Wayne W. Enderle; one son, Ward Enderle; and one grandson, Jesse Keisel.
She is survived by four sons, Lawrence Kinder and wife Joan of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, Mark Enderle of Dayton, Ohio, Jerry Souders of Morehead, Kentucky, and Shawn Enderle and wife Carol of Morehead, Kentucky; one daughter, Beth Keisel of Washington; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Evangeline was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, working in flowers, shopping, and taking care of her animals. Before moving to Kentucky, she had been an employee of Olan Mills and Roberson Myers in Springfield, Ohio. She was a member of the First Church of God and participated in First Church of God Quilters.
Visitation is Wednesday, February 13, 2008, after 5 p.m. with a funeral at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Allan Hutchinson officiating. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2008, at Rose Hill Burial Park in Springfield, Ohio.
Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
O. Christine Fraley
1925-2008
MOREHEAD - O. Christine Fraley, age 82, of Danville, IN, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at Hendricks Regional Health Hospital in Danville, IN.
Born June 16, 1925, in Morehead, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Ranze and Laura White Butler. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers.
Survivors include one son, Gary (Dianna) Fraley of Brownsburg, IN, and three sisters, Shirley Malicoat of Danville, IN, Mae Caudill of Morehead, KY, and Bessie Caskey of Zephyrhills, FL.
Christine was a homemaker and had been a bookkeeper for a privately owned trucking company for many years.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, February 18, 2008, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with visitation from 12 noon until the service. Burial will follow in Lee Cemetery.
