Jennie W. Bartleson
HARRODSBURG -- Jennie VanArsdall Smith Bartleson, 71, of West Broadway, Harrodsburg, died Friday at the Hagan Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Born Sept. 20, 1928, she was a native of Mercer County and the daughter of the late John Wiley Smith Sr. and Laura Jones Smith. She was a former press operator at Cricketeer Manufacturing, a graduate of West Side High School in Harrodsburg and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Truman Bartleson Sr.; three sons, Truman Bartleson Jr. and Randall Bartleson, both of Harrodsburg, and George Bartleson of Los Angeles; two daughters, Rena and Sharon Bartleson, both of Harrodsburg; one brother, John Wiley Smith Jr. of Lawrenceburg; 10 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ernest Calvin Bartleson.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Jones, James Dunn, Greg Bowman, Steve Smith, Cecil Smith, Robert Bean Jr., Leon VanDyke Jr., Joey Jones and Phillip VanDyke.
Honorary pallbearers will be Albert Taylor, James Williams, Gary Smith, Michael VanDyke, Alonzo Bottoms, Fred Bottoms, Davis Burrus, David Taylor and Jim Mosely.
Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Centennial Baptist Church with Rev. Robert J. Gentry. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today at Centennial Baptist Church.

Joseph F. Browning
LEBANON -- Joseph Francis "Joe Frank" Browning, 70, of Lebanon, died Wednesday at his home.
Born Aug. 4, 1929, in Marion County, he was a son of Joseph H. and Mary I. Raley Browning. He was a former vice president of the Marion County Farm Bureau, and was a member of the Marion County Fair board. He and his family hosted several Farm Field Days. He also was an usher at St. Charles Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth C. Williams Browning; six sons, Tommy Browning of Danville, Mike Browning of St. Augustine, Fla., Steve and Charles Browning, both of Lebanon, Carl Browning of Taylorsville, and Chris Browning of Loretto; two daughters, LuAnn Mattingly of Raywick and Lisa Sandusky of Lebanon; four brothers, William H., John D., Donnie and Leon Browning, all of Lebanon; three sisters, Susan Smith of Springfield, and Eleanor Bland and Mary Margaret Spalding, both of Lebanon; 15 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services were Friday at St. Charles Catholic Church by the Rev. Gary Young and Joe Ray Dant. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Memorials may go to Hospice of Central Kentucky or Cancer Relay for Life.

Mary B. Claunch
HARRODSBURG -- Mary Belle Claunch, 86, of Tabler Avenue died Thursday at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 19, 1913, in Mercer County, she was a daughter of the late James and Sarah Elizabeth Leonard Drury. She worked several years for the kitchen of Beaumont Inn and was the widow of Oliver Claunch.
Survivors include two sons, James R. Corman of Harrodsburg and Johnny W. Drury of Nicholasville; three daughters, Dorothy Collier of Mercer County and Pauline McGrath and Jane Ader, both of Harrodsburg; a stepdaughter, Ida Mae Claunch Underwood of Lexington; a sister, Janie Pinkston of Harrodsburg; 20 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home by Harley Humfleet and Donnie Releford. Burial will be in Bruners Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Steven Ader, Ronnie McGrath, Wayne Collier, Todd Collier, Mark McGrath and Paul Collier.
Honorary pallbearers are Greg Collier, Jimmy Collier, Rickey Collier, John McGrath, Dale Corman and Gary Corman.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. today and after 7 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Phyllis M. Hogue
Services for Phyllis Murray Morrison Hogue, 65, of Sanders Clay Circle will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Junction City, by Revs. George Callahan and Ernest Martin. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
She died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Feb. 4, 1935, in Crab Orchard, she was a daughter of the late George Murray and Cecile Reynolds Foley Morrison. She was a former bank teller at Citizens National Bank. She is a member of the First Baptist Church of Junction City and a 1953 graduate of Danville High School.
Survivors include her husband, Jesse H. Hogue of Danville; two sons, Mark Lane Hogue of Moreland and Daniel Ray Hogue of Junction City; a sister, Jeanne Naughton of Danville; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mark Lane Hogue Jr., Matthew Hogue, Shawn Naughton, Shawn Odell, Charles Diehl, Jason Strevels and Mark Fisher.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the ladies Sunday school class at First Baptist Church.

Arroma Bray
LIBERTY-- Services for Arroma Bray, 92, of Yosemite will be 2 p.m. today at Mount Olive Christian Church by the Rev. Greg Powell. Burial will be in Salyers Cemetery with military rites by the Casey County Funeral Squad.
He died Wednesday at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lexington.
Born Sept. 8, 1907, in Humphrey, he was a son of the late Matthew and Artie Meacy Durham Bray. He was a retired school teacher and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member and elder of Mount Olive Christian Church where he was also a former deacon.
Survivors include a brother, Clifford Gene Bray of Mohomet, Ill.; and a sister, Polly L. Judd of Yosemite.

He died Thursday at Fort Logan Hospital following complications associated with pneumonia.

CRAB ORCHARD -- Homer L. Todd, 79, of Ky. 618 died Thursday at Fort Logan Hospital following complications associated with pneumonia.
Born July 29, 1920, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late William J. and Effie Clay Bastin Todd. He was a retired custodian at Broughtontown Elementary School and former custodian at Lincoln County Courthouse. He also was a former employee of the state highway department. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and had been a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps in Montana.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Blankenship Todd of Crab Orchard; two sons, Larry and Tony Todd, both of Crab Orchard; a sister, Pearl Belcher of Crab Orchard; three brothers, Lester Todd of Cincinnati, Leonard Todd of Crab Orchard and Lois Todd of Waynesburg; and five grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Michael L. Davenport of Lexington; two daughters, Sharon D. Davenport and Robin Beams, both of Mercer County; a brother, Roy Davenport of New Albany, Ind.; a sister, Lucille "Coffee" Hurst of Harrodsburg; and two granddaughters.
Pallbearers will be Ronald and Glenn Hurst, Ronnie Wells, Joe Satterly, Tommy Preston and Robert Franklin.
