Huel Buis
LIBERTY -- Huel Buis, 81, of Elmore Hill Road, died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Nov. 9, 1918, in Casey County, he was a son of the late John A. and Ellen Gilpin Buis. He was a retired assistant superintendent for Farmers Home Administration in Pulaski County. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Rich Hill Christian Church. He was a life-member of Disabled American Veterans and Casey Masonic Lodge 424.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Slagle Buis; and a sister, Maxine Roy of Liberty.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Richard Owens and Don Clark. Burial will be in Poplar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Charlotte M. Driskell
HARRODSBURG -- Charlotte Moore Diskell, 58, of Tewmey Lane died Saturday at St. Joseph Hospital.
Born Dec. 12, 1941, in Mercer County, she was a daughter of J.C. Sims and Ann Whiteneck Sims, both of Harrodsburg. She was a teacher at Mercer County High School, and a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church where she was an elder and church secretary. She was a University of Kentucky graduate and a member of Newcomers Homemakers Club.
Survivors include her husband, Gilbert "Sonny" Driskell; a son, Brian C. Driskell of Nicholasville; a sister, Carolyn A. Thornton of Mercer County; and a granddaughter.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by the Revs. Jon Jones and David Hartman. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today.
Memorials may go to American Cancer Society or New Providence Presbyterian Church.

Willie B. Goins
LANCASTER -- Willie B. Goins, 97, of Lancaster died Saturday at Garrard County Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 1, 1903, in Garrard County, he was a son of the late Bill and Lucinda Lucas Goins. He was a retired farmer and the widower of Louise Gaffney Goins.
Survivors include a son, Ed Goins of San Antonio, Texas; eight daughters, Ruby Harrison, Christine Bryant and Elaine Hardin, all of Columbus, Ind.; Mildred Palmer of Wolsey, S.D., Edna Potts of Danville, Vivian Goins of Richmond, Ind., Diane McCain of Mount Vernon, Ind., and Helen Broaddus of Lancaster; 31 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Bill Goins.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Spurlin Funeral Home by the Rev. Everett Priddy. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Ben Randolph
MIDDLEBURG -- William "Ben" Randolph, 71, of Cincinnati died Saturday at Bethesda Hospital North.
Born April 22, 1928, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Val and Ellen Bryant Randolph. He was a retired mechanic for National Distillers and an Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Luster Randolph; a daughter, Janice Walker of Cincinnati; a sister, Phyllis Cannon of Liberty; three brothers, Wimpy Randolph of Middleburg, Val "Bucky" Randolph of Richmond and Bobby Randolph of Scottsburg, Ind.; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bartle Funeral Home by the Rev. G.W. Smith. Burial will be in Middleburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Rice, Chris Walker, Elmer Brewer, Mike Johnson, Logan Salyers and Jerry Randolph.

Kenzie K. Showalter
PARIS, Ky. -- Kenzie K. Showalter, 74, of Paris, died Friday at his home.
Born Nov. 15, 1925, in Bracken County, he was a son of the late Howard L. and Cora King Showalter. He was a retired auto mechanic and a Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Malloy Showalter; three sons, Phil Showalter of Danville, Joe Showalter of Paris and Rick Showalter of Georgetown; two daughters, Judy Roberts of Bourbon County and Trish Williamson of Paris; a brother, Harold Showalter of Sardinia, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
Services were scheduled for 1 p.m. today at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation by the Rev. Thomas Thai. Burial is in Evergreen Memory Gardens.

Albert Hopkins
Services for Albert Lyman "Bud" Hopkins, 76, of Bluegrass Pike, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Stith Funeral Home by the Rev. Tommy Valentine. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
He died Saturday at Central Baptist Hospital.
Born Jan. 4, 1924, in Louisville, he was a son of the late Albert H. and Sarah E. Francis Hopkins. He was a retired purchasing manager for International Harvester and a member of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Louise E. Koch Hopkins; a daughter, Patricia L. Khazaeli of Columbus, Ga.; three sons, Stephen A. Hopkins of Franklin, Tenn., Gary Hopkins of Louisville and William A. Hopkins of Lexington; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Adam, Gary, Mark, Stephen, William and Matthew Hopkins.

Services for William Clayton Phillips, 71, of Norwood, Ohio, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Dennis Creech. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens with military rites by American Legion Post 46.
He died Friday at University Hospital in Cincinnati.
Born Dec. 24, 1928, in Pine Grove, he was a son of the late Harry J. and Lula E. Wilson Phillips. He was a retired employee of Norwood Board of Education, a member of the Christian Church and a World War II Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Gay Belcher Phillips; three sons, Jerry E., Garry W. and Stacy W. Phillips, all of Cincinnati; three brothers, John Phillips of Danville, Herbert Phillips of Alum Springs and Raymond Phillips of Somerset; a sister, Sue Mullins of Cincinnati; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Josh, Jeremy, Jerry, Stacy, Garry and Terry Phillips. Honorary pallbearers are Herbert, Raymond and John Phillips, Roy Pete Singleton and Harold Mullins.

He died Sunday at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.
Born Sept. 6. 1954, in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late Regis R. and Virginia Naugle Bender. He was an employee of Green River Gate Co. in Casey County.
Survivors include a brother, Charles Bender of Hustonville; and a sister, Carol Wehner of Baltimore, Md.

Mary Katherine Harmon
Mary Katherine Noble Harmon, 92, of Nicholasville died Wednesday at St. Joseph Hospital East.
Born March 31, 1907, in Hamilton Ohio, she was a daughter of Fayette and Nannie Prevette Noble. She was a homemaker and helped her husband in Harmon's Hardware and Dry Goods Co. She was a member of Junction City Christian Church, Ladies Aids Sunday School Class and Junction City Elementary PTA. She was the widow of Ira B. Harmon Sr.
Survivors include a son, Ira B. "I.B." Harmon Jr. of Lancaster; a daughter, Betty Puckett of Nicholasville; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Adah Owens.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Stith Funeral Home by the Revs. Ken Ward, Tom Melford and Barry Harmon. Burial will be in Junction City Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Saturday.

WAYNESBURG -- Mollie Caudill Bolin, 81, of Mount Washington, formerly of Waynesburg, died Thursday in Clarksville, Ind.
Born Dec. 4, 1918, in Letcher County, she was a daughter of the late Basil and Rebecca Adams Caudill. She was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Old Regular Baptist Church. She was the widow of Ray Bolin.
Survivors include two sons, Arthur C. Sanders of Albany and Chester L. Thompson of Tennessee; a stepson, Jerry Bolin of Florida; three daughters, Lurlie Diemer and Geraldine Daily, both of Louisville and Marcelene Wilson of French Lick, Ind.; a brother, Crit Caudill of Point of the Rocks, Va.; two sisters, Sarah Neagele of Kings Mountain and Carmie Repas of Titisville, Fla.; two half sisters, Irene Hutchins of Henryville, Ind., and Judy Lewis of Louisville; 30 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by four sons, Wendell, Clyde, Willie and Joe Sanders; and a stepdaughter, Ann Posey.
Services will be noon Saturday at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home by Mitchell Hutchins. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
