Jeff William Kennedy, 77, of Hardy, KY, passed away Wednesday January 4, 2012 at his residence.
He was born April 13, 1934 in Pike County, KY to the late Mont and Virginia "Jenny" Chapman Kennedy. He was also preceded in death by five sisters and five brothers.
He was a disabled Veteran in the U.S. Marines for 10 years and an avid outdoorsman.
He is survived by his wife; Carol H. Kirk Kennedy of Hardy, KY, two sons; Jeffery (Karen) Kennedy of Michigan and Charlie (Jackie) Kennedy of Michigan, three daughters; Jennifer (Guy) Taylor of Virginia, Lequita (Johnny) Murie of Michigan and Cathy Kennedy of Michigan, two step daughters; Lisa (Danny) Robinson of Sidney, Ky and Suzanne Smith of Hardy, KY, fourteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Saturday January 7, 2012 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Rev. William Van Zant officiating.
Burial will follow at Mountain View Memory Gardens at Huddy, KY with DAV graveside rites being conducted by Belfry Chapter #141 DAV. Family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday at the funeral home.
Essie Thacker Bevins, 87, of Burnwell, KY, passed away Friday January 6, 2012 at the South Williamson Appalachian Hospital.
She was born March 23, 1924 at Millard, Ky to the late Elisha and Annie Kendrick Thacker. She is also preceded in death by her husband; Jerry Bevins, five brothers; Otis Thacker, Hastell Thacker, Owen Thacker, Roy Thacker and Ireland Thacker, three sisters; Hazel Deskins, Bertha Coleman and Gladys Holt. She was a church member, a mother and a grandmother.
She is survived by five sons; Olbie (Patricia) Bevins of Aflex, KY, Gregory (Teresa) Bevins of Burnwell, KY, Trenton (Arminda) Bevins of Burnwell, KY, Troy (Clara) Bevins of Burnwell, KY, and Jerry D. Edith May, 87 of Canada, KY, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2011 at the South Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital, South Williamson, KY.
She was born January 24, 1924 at Stone, Ky. the daughter of the late James and Minnie Varney Bostic. She was also preceded in death by three husbands, Donnie Maynard, Jess Casey and Columbus May; one son, Wendell Maynard; four sisters, Bertha Varney, Hattie Sullivan, Lola Varney and Bubby Ross and three brothers, Luther, Rufus and James Bostic.
Edith was a homemaker and a member of the Pinsonfork United Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Shirley Ann Maynard of Pinsonfork, Ky.; sister, Myrtle Beard of Williamson, WV; brother, Thurman Bostic of Radcliff, Ky.; one grandson, Wendell Maynard Jr. and a host of other, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Aletha Mae Ellis, 73, of Hardy, KY, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2012 in the Appalachian Regional Hospital, South Williamson, KY.
She was born April 3, 1938 in Floyd County, Ky. the daughter of the late Toney and Eve Bailey Howard. She was also preceded in death by two sons, John Michael Ellis and W. Deron Ellis; grandson, R. Brian Snedeker; three sisters, Carnalee Varney, Bobbi Dean Hilbert and Billie Jean Howard and a brother, Colonel Howard.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and a member of the New Castle Moose Lodge in Delaware.

George Lewis Savage Jr., 61, of Huntington, WV passed away January 15, 2012.
He was born March 22, 1950, at Kermit, WV to the late George and Tennie Savage. He was also preceded in death by three brothers; Douglas Savage, David Savage and Robert Savage, and one sister; Janice Stepp.
He was of the Baptist faith, a father, grandfather and an uncle.

William Powell Williams, 73 of McAndrews, KY passed away Sunday, January 22, 2012 at U.K. Medical Center, Lexington, Ky.
He was born June 26, 1938 in Pike County, Ky. the son of the late Edison Williams and Bernice Justice Brown. He was also preceded in death by grandparents, John and Eunice Thomas and Bernice Brown; brother, Benny Williams; half brother, Charles Ray Williams and half sister, Kathy Williams.
Powell was a master logger, having his own logging business, William P. Williams Logging Company. He was a veteran of the US Navy and a member of the Williamson Area Church of Christ. He loved blues music and the Blues Hall of Fame inducted him as an ambassador for the blues in Kentucky.
Survivors include his wife, Violet Florene Coleman Williams of McAndrews, Ky.; step mother, Jean Williams of Robinette, WV., two sons; James R. (Jimmy) Williams of McAndrews, KY, and William P. Whetstone of Illinois., one daughter; Sally Whetstone; one brother; Johnny Williams of McAndrews, Ky.; four half brothers, Danny, Timmy, Bobby and Larry Williams all of Robinette, WV; four half sisters, Abby Williams, Tammy Williams and Susie Rogers of Man, WV and Donnie Williams of Robinette, WV and several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Ernest Boyd Murphy, 69 of Owingsville, KY, formerly of Belfry, KY, passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 in the Hilltop Nursing Home, Owingsville, Ky.
He was born June 19, 1942 at Belfry, Ky. the son of the late Rev. Ernest Prock and Euna Smith Murphy. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Ernestine Ray.
He was self-employed and was of the Freewill Baptist faith. He was a member of the Stone Masonic Lodge # 890 F. & A.M., a 32nd degree Mason and the El Hasa Shrine Club.
He is survived by two sons, Frederick (Tina) Murphy of Winchester, Ky. and Mark Todd Murphy of Morehead, Ky.; grandson, Michael Todd Murphy of Morehead, Ky. and his caregiver, Sandra Murphy of Morehead, KY.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 1 PM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Buddy Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, KY with sons, grandson and friends serving as pallbearers. Stone Masonic Lodge # 890 F. & A.M. will conduct Masonic graveside services.

Shelia Rena Maynard, 49 of Rawl, WV, passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 in a car accident.
She was born March 3, 1962 in Indianapolis, IN the daughter of the late Arlie and Eileen Helton Lewis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ashley Maynard and two brothers, Elder Lewis and Elmer Lewis.
Shelia was a loving mother and sister.
Survivors include one son, Phillip Bryant Coleman of Rawl, WV; one daughter, Arleen Faye Coleman of Rawl, WV, four brothers, Arland "Bo" Lewis, Earl Lewis, Jimmy Lee Lewis and Richard "Ricky" Lewis all of Williamson, WV; three sisters, Alice Faye May of Canada, KY, Minnie Starr of Charleston, WV and JoAnn Varney of Forest Hills, Ky. and a host of other loving family and friends.

Christina Artress, 83 of McAndrews, KY, passed away Monday, January 30, 2012 in the Appalachian Regional Hospital, South Williamson, KY.
She was born February 23, 1928 in Pike County, Ky. the daughter of the late Clyde and Genette Ball Blackburn. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell Artress and a grandson, Timothy Bakulski.
She was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother and a great pie baker.

He was born April 23, 1942 at Pikeville, Ky. the son of the late Arie Dover and Lucy Elkins Walters. He was also preceded in death by his twin sister, Bonnie Pinson, infant sister Peggy Walters and infant brother, Donnie Walters.
Ronnie was a retired coal miner from Island Creek Coal Company, a member of the UMWA and a faithful member of the Pilgrim Home Old Regular Baptist Church.

She was born April 23, 1930 at Borderland, WV to the late Everette and Rosa Preece Kazee. She is also preceded in death by her husband; Willie Blackburn, daughter; Linda Lee, granddaughter; Kimberly Lee and two brothers; Leroy Kazee and Kenneth Kazee.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Turkey Creek Old Regular Baptist Church.
