Edna Irene (Reliford) Cassell, 90 of Huddy, Ky. went to be with the
Lord on January 20, 2011 at the Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born August 10, 1920 in Charleston, WV the daughter of the
late Henderson and Margie Bartley Reliford. She was also preceded in
death her husband of 47 years, Ervin Cassell; sisters, Geraldine Carroll,
Nada Ingels and Louise Smith and brother, Robert Reliford.
She is survived by her son, Danny (Theresa) Cassell of Toler, Ky;
daughter, Dianna Cassell of Huddy, Ky.; Grandchildren, Sheila (Gary)
Goff of Hardy, Ky. and Dreama Cassell of Webster, Ky.; Great Grandchildren, Brandi
Williamson of Murfreesboro, Tn., Larry Bruce Williamson of Canada, KY, Christian Cassell,
Izaiah Cassell and Cehrigan Cassell all of Webster, Ky.; step grandchildren, Eric (Jamie) Whitt
and Kylie Whitt, Jason (Jamie) Whitt and Sawyer; brother-in-law, Wilbur Ingels; special friends
Rosie Roberts, Logene Varney, Leona Baldwin and many other family and friends.
Irene was a member of the Belfry First Baptist Church. She had served as Sunday School
Teacher, Training Union Teacher, WMU, Vacation Bible School teacher and helper and on the
hospitality committee. She graduated from Belfry High School in 1939. She was a postal
worker for 15 years, member of Belfry Homemakers, President of the Northeast area
Homemakers and served on the state board. Also a member of the Belfry Womans Club, 4-H
leader, Red Cross and ARH Volunteer worker.
Visitation will be held fron 6 till 9 PM Saturday, January 22, 2011 at R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 23, 2011 at 12 Noon at the R. E.
Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Mark Helton and Brother Bob Norman officiating
with special singers, David Vargo and Patti Phillips. Burial will follow in the Mountain View
Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky. with Larry Bruce Williamson II, Izaiah Cassell, Jason Whitt,
Eric Whitt, Mark Goff, Gary Goff II, James Earl Williams and Darrin Owens serving as
pallbearers.
Bertha Runyon Trout, 87, of Center, KY, formerly of Sidney, KY, passed away January 21,
2011 in Glasgow, Ky.
She was born October 12, 1923 in Martin County, Ky. the daughter of the late Taulby and
Ellen Horn Runyon. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Tom Trout, sisters, Kate
Workman, Oma Workman and Patsy Burgett and brothers, Arrie Runyon and Jim Runyon.
Bertha was a homemaker and a member of the Big Creek Freewill Baptist Church, Sidney,
Ky.
She is survived by her children, Phyllis (Lonnie) Rose of Center, KY, Sarah (Edward)
Thomas of Waynesboro, Ga., Thomas (Diana) Trout of Lancaster, SC and Michael (Linda)
Trout of Johnson City, Tn.; brother, Haskell (Josephine) Runyon of Borderland, WV; six
grandchildren, Stephanie Rose of Center, KY, Jason (Amy) Thomas of Waynesboro, Ga.,
Patrick (Paige) Thomas of Macon, Ga., Mike Trout and Bobby (Stella) Trout of Johnson City,
Tn., and Amanda (Ricky) Hicks of Rock Hill, SC and one step-grandchild, Dustin Dickerson of
Lancaster, SC; three great grandchildren, Chloe Thomas, Preston Thomas, Mason Trout and
two step great grandchildren, Gabriel Veldboom and Hannah Cham and numerous nieces and
nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Monday, January 24, 2011 at R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home Chapel with Gary Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View
Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky. with grandsons and nephews serving as pallbearers. Visitation
will be held after 6 PM Saturday and Sunday at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with special
services Sunday night at 7 PM with Hacky Runyon and Freddie Runyon.
Richard Shane Carroll, 35, of Turkey Creek, KY passed away Saturday,
January 22, 2011 at his residence.
He was born September 8, 1975 in Columbus, Ohio the son of Richard E.
Carroll of Turkey Creek, Ky. and the late Alice Ford Carroll.
He was disabled, having been employed by Tramco and a member of the
Church of God.
Besides his Father he is also survived by three children, Cody Carroll and
Kayla Carroll both of Westerville, Ohio and Austin Carroll and his Mother,
Melinda Jude of Canada, Ky.; on sister, Michelle (Rodney) Williamson of Huddy, Ky. and a
host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 11 AM at the Canada Freewill
Baptist Church with Roger Williamson, Butch Williamson and Jack Maynard officiating.
Burial will follow in the Glen Rest Memorial Gardens, Reynoldsburg, Ohio on Wednesday,
January 26, 2011. Visitation will be held after 6 PM on Monday, January 24, 2011 at the
Canada Freewill Baptist Church with special services at 7 PM.
Judy Faye Little, 68 of McCarr, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, January
22, 2011 at her residence.
She was born May 8, 1942 at McCarr, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Fred
and Pearl (May) Rife. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by
her loving companion, Darrell Lockhart; one daughter, Wilma Jean Hyden; two
brothers, Raven and Avery Rife; and three sisters, Mary Rife, Ethel Bailey and
twin sister, Eula Faye Rife.
Judy was a retired cook at Food City and of the Church of Christ Faith. She
is survived by three sons, William Avery Hyden of McCarr, Kentucky, Samuel Jonathan Hyden
of Cincinnati, Ohio and Joshua Pauley of McCarr, Kentucky; two daughters, Rhonda Lynn
Trent of Delbarton, West Virginia and Coetta Ford of Delbarton, West Virginia; two sisters,
Sylvia Skeens of Charleston, West Virginia and Greta Mayhorn of Freeburn, Kentucky;
Grandchildren, Walter Ford Jr., Anthony Ford, William Hyden, Katie Trent, Dustin Trent,
Brandon Hyden and Ashley Hyden; great grandchildren, Hannah Hyden and Hailey Hyden;
one great grandson on the way and a host of loving friends.
Funeral Services will be held 11 A.M. Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at R.E. Rogers Funeral
Home, Belfry, Kentucky with Bob Werntz officiating. Burial will follow in the Anderson
Hatfield Cemetery, McCarr, Kentucky with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 4 P.M. Monday, at R.E. Rogers Funeral Home and anytime
Tuesday.
Troy Lee Taylor, 62, of McCarr, KY, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015, at Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born August 3, 1953, in Baltimore, MD, the son of the late
Sam and Hattie Meade Taylor. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Wallace and a brother, Sam Taylor, Jr. He was a retired
coal truck driver.
Survivors include daughters, Letizia "Tisha" Taylor of South Williamson, KY and Lashae Taylor of Pikeville, KY; son, David (Cassie)
Steele of Dallas, Texas; brothers, Donald Taylor of Sandusky, Ohio and
Jack Taylor of McCarr, KY; granddaughters, Khloe Miller, Zoey Steele, Chloe Steele, Kynslee
Steele and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at 1 PM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home Chapel with Pastor Curtis Franks officiating. Burial will follow in the Taylor Family
Cemetery, Buskirk, KY, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6 - 9 PM, Monday, January 4th in the funeral home chapel with
special services at 7 PM.
Dianne Fraley, 64, of Turkey Creek, KY, passed away Tuesday, January 5th, 2016 at the Tug
Valley Regional Medical Center.
Dianne was born April 12, 1951, at Goody, KY, the daughter of John D. Taylor Jr. of Turkey
Creek, KY and the late Dollie Dempsey Taylor.
She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors other than her father, include her husband, Paul Dean Fraley of Turkey Creek,
KY; daughter, Laurel Anderson of Turkey, KY; son, Paul Shannon Fraley of Turkey Creek,
KY; sister, Linda Gehringer of Allen Park, MI; brothers, Don (Esther) Taylor of Big Creek, KY
and Buddy (Linda) Taylor of Wayland, KY; grandchildren, Haley, Peyton and Brady Anderson
and a host of other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 7, 2016, at 11 AM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery, Hatfield, KY, with family and
friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6 - 9 PM Wednesday, January 6th in the funeral home chapel.
Mary Ellen King (Solomon), 81, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2016,
in Columbus, Ohio.
She was born on November 23, 1934, in Belfry, Kentucky to Eugene English
King and Beatrice Keesee King. She is also preceded in death by her daughter,
Michaelle Beatrice Solomon (Stanton) and her parents. She is survived by her
daughter, R. Elizabeth Solomon; grandson, Matthew Alexander Stanton; siblings, E. Lawson (Rachel) King, Landon Thomas (Ginger) King and Linda Carol (Gregory) Van Meter and many, many cousins.
Mary Ellen graduated valedictorian at Belfry High School and graduated
from the University of Kentucky. While she worked hard as a homemaker, Mary Ellen was active in Lexington, Kentucky, where she worked with TKO (The Kentucky Organization) and
Alternatives for Women. She was a leader in her community, obtaining grants to help abused
women find safe havens, and to help other women in destitute and desperate predicaments. She
was also a leader in forming the groundwork for the first recycling center in Lexington and was
integral in the initiation of unit pricing in grocery stores.
Mary Ellen lived in Phoenix, Arizona from 1979 until 2007, when she moved to Columbus
to live with her daughter, Elizabeth. The family extends their thanks to all of the health care
professionals for their care and compassion throughout her illness.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at 2 PM at R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home with James Justice officiating. Burial will follow in the Keesee Family Cemetery, Belfry, Kentucky.
Visiting hours will be the same day starting at noon. In lieu of flowers, please consider a
