Catherine C. Manning
MORELAND -- Catherine C. Manning, 88, of Charleston Health Care Center, died there Saturday.
Born July 24, 1911, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Watt and Peachie Ferrell Gresham. She was retired from Keebler Biscuit Company. She was the widow of Carl T. Manning and also was preceded in death by a son, Herbert Gary Manning.
Survivors include a son, Dan O. Manning of Hustonville; four sisters, Nell Brackett of Danville, Christine Grant of Ohio, Lucille Smith of Indiana and Margie Mattingly of West Virginia; a brother, C.W. Gresham of Danville; five grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today.
Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Nathan Sebastian
LANCASTER -- Nathan Gordon Sebastian, 73, of Delbar Lane, died Friday at his home.
Born Nov. 22, 1926, in Garrard County, he was a son of the late Butler and Nora Prewitt Sebastian. He was a member of Bryantsville Missionary Baptist Church, a veteran of World War II and the widower of Mary Edna Edginton Sebastian.
Survivors include a son, Anscin Sebastian of Lancaster; a daughter, Sarada Arnold of Lancaster; a brother, McCellon Sebastian of Lancaster; five sisters, Mrs. W.T. Prewitt, Mrs. Carl Lane, Mrs. William H. Casey and Mrs. Everett Casey, all of Garrard County, and Mrs. E.R. Prather of Somerset; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Revs. Jerry Chandler and Tom Crawford. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Andrew Arnold, Nathan King Arnold, Gareth Lane, Scott Lane, Bobby Prewitt, Kenneth Prewitt, Marc Prewitt, Bobby Ray Prewitt and David Lane.
Honorary pallbearers are Richard, Curtis, Jimmy, Darryl, Allan and Gilbert Edgington, Doug Carmen and Greg Carmen.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. today.

Gene Cummins
PERRYVILLE -- Services for Earl Gene Cummins, 64, of Perryville will be 2 p.m. Monday at Wilder Funeral Home by David Gambrel. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
He died Thursday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born June 30, 1935, in Boyle County, he was a son of the late George and Elizabeth Deering Cummins. He was a retired corrections officer at Northpoint Training Center and a former employee of Danville Youth Development Center. He was a Baptist, a Kentucky Colonel and served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Bettye Sebastian Cummins; three daughters, Pamela Jean Brown of Danville, Donna Kay Horton of Danville, and Kelly Ann Gambrel of Kings Mountain; a sister, Sylvia Arnold of Perryville; a brother, Marion Cummins of Gravel Switch; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be John Caldwell, Bob Carrico, Jackie Cummins, Harvey Bottoms, Charles Sebastian and Lawrence Emerson.
Honorary pallbearers are Virgil Lanham, Gene Bottoms, June Christy, Melvin Hicks, Allen Sims, Charles Hobbs and Vernon Withers.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today.

Austin B. Goodpaster
HARRODSBURG -- Services for Austin B. Goodpaster, 14, of Talmage-Mayo Road, Harrodsburg, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Baptist Church in Boyle County by the Revs. Barry Harmon, Barry Jefferies and Randy McPheron. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
He died Wednesday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. As a pickup truck was backing down a driveway, the door opened and Goodpaster fell out, according to a police report.
Born June 21, 1985, in Harrodsburg, he was a son of Kenny B. Goodpaster and Tina Ransdell Murphy, both of Mercer County. He was a student at Mercer County High School and belonged to the MCHS Future Farmers of America. He also belonged to Immanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors also include two brothers, Dale and Jordan Goodpaster, both at home; a sister, Shannon Goodpaster, at home; a stepbrother, Bradley Murphy, at home; a stepsister, Brook Murphy, at home; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Ransdell of Mercer County; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Goodpaster of Mercer County; and maternal great-grandmother, Martha Robinson of Lawrenceburg.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today at Ransdell Funeral Chapel and after 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Curt, Darren and David Curtis Ransdell, Len and Jimmy Goodpaster, Lee and Clay Wilson and Larry Robinson.

STANFORD -- Services for Odis Alfred Oaks, 54, of Hwy. 1247, Waynesburg, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Fox Funeral Home by Dan Gutenson. Burial will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery with military rites by Caswell Saufley Post 18, American Legion.
He died Wednesday at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Va.
Born Aug. 2, 1945, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Charlie and Pearl Simpson Oaks. He was a former employee of Matsushita Home Appliance Corp. in Danville, a member of Mount Hebron Baptist Church and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Smith Oaks; two daughters, Kim Stonecypher of Columbia and Courtney Oaks of Waynesburg; two stepsons, Michael Stumph of Lawrenceburg and Matthew Stumph of Harrodsburg; one stepdaughter, Susan Abrams of Harrodsburg; five brothers, Clyde Oaks of Stanford, Dennis Oaks of Danville, and Kenneth, Paul and David Oaks, all of Waynesburg; two sisters, Ruth Rector and Martha Ann Farmer, both of Waynesburg; and one stepgrandchild.

LANCASTER -- Services for Clay Russell Reynolds, 94, of Lancaster will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Spurlin Funeral Home by the Revs. Don Hatton and Bill Hawkins. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.

Born May 24, 1905, in Barbourville, he was a son of the late Walker and Mossie Turner Reynolds. He was a retired Delco machinist and member of Lancaster Christian Church and wintered at Eagle Nest, Fla., fishing camp. A son, Rusell Reynolds, predeceased him.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Prewitt Gay Reynolds; a son, Bill Reynolds, Huber Heights, Ohio; two daughters, Shirley Wilimitis of Dayton, Ohio, and Lorriane Huff of Union, Ohio; three stepsons, David and Clyde Gay, both of Lancaster, and Bobby Gay of Charlotte, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Beverly Glenn of Georgetown; a brother, Leroy Reynolds of Lancaster; 24 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Burney W. Manning
SCIENCE HILL -- The Rev. Burney W. Manning, 78, a retired Baptist minister, of Sheidan Drive, Lexington, died Wednesday at his home.
Born Feb. 15, 1922, in Greenville, N.C., he was a son of the late William Warren and Mary Edwards. He had pastored 12 churches, having been ordained in 1946 at Wallins Creek Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran and was a member of American Legion Post 38. He was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church and the widower of Doris Bennett Manning.
Survivors are four daughters, Elaine Hangis, Billie Manning, Linda Manning, and Libby Elks, all of Lexington, four sons, Tim Manning, Marc Manning, Joe Manning, all of Lexington, and Burney Lee Manning of Bagdad; two sisters, Elizabeth Hayes of Latta, S.C., Sadie Rae Pitt of Macklesfield, N.C.; and 12 grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one son, James David Manning.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Double Springs Baptist Church, Waynesburg, by the Rev. Burney Lee Manning. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is after 3 p.m. Friday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home, and after 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorials may go to Hospice of Lexington, Gideons International Bible Fund or Kidney Foundation of Central Kentucky.

Born March 1, 1928, in Marion County, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Willie Neal Frances Waits Francis. She was a member of the Baptist church and was the widow of Fred Snook. She was a former waitress.
Survivors include two brothers, Cecil Francis Jr. of Mercer County and Robert Edwin Waits of Maine; two sisters, Anna Mae Haney of Salvisa and Betty Jo Wilson of Lexington; and several nieces and nephews.
