The Lord loaned a great and wonderful man to this world on
February 26, 1934 named James Earl McCoy. He departed his
earthly home to enter the golden gates of Heaven to be with his
Lord on May 3, 2013.
He was a devoted Christian who attended Toler Freewill
Baptist Church.
His passing is mourned by his beloved and devoted wife
Clarine Varney McCoy of 57 years of marriage.
He leaves behind the joys of his life, four children, James Junior (Teresa) McCoy of
Princeton North Carolina, Derek (Denise) McCoy of Princeton North Carolina, Larry Bruce
(Lori) McCoy of Princeton North Carolina, and Kirk Moe (Donna) McCoy of Burnwell,
Kentucky. Also, he leaves behind six grandchildren, who were the joys of his life and rays of
sunshine, Brandon, Kirk Douglas, Andrew, Grey, Hannah, and Whitley McCoy. James also
leaves behind a loving sister, Delphia Bragg of Burnwell, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents Reese and Bessie Bevins McCoy, Brothers
Edward, Douglas and Virgil McCoy and sisters Viola Jude, Flossie Blackburn and Ella Brooke
McCoy.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 06, 2013 at 1PM in R.E Rogers Funeral Home
Chapel with Donnie Williamson and Lee Dotson officiating. Burial will follow at McCoy
Cemetery, Burnwell, KY.
Visitation will be held at 6PM Sunday May 05, 2013 at the Funeral Home with services
at 7PM. Family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.
Ida "Mamaw" Louise Bevins Gilliam Williamson, 90 of
Flatwoods, Ky. formerly of Pike County, Ky. passed away, Monday,
May 6, 2013 at Trinity Station Retirement Community in Flatwoods, Ky.
Mrs. Williamson was born May 26, 1922 in Rockhouse, Ky. a
daughter of the late George and Mary Smith Bevins. She was preceded
in death by her husbands, Captain Walker Gilliam, Sr. and Carl
Williamson, Sr.; three sons, William "Bill" Gilliam, George E. Gilliam
and Captain W. Gilliam, Jr.; daughter, Barbara S. Smith; five brothers,
Jim, Willie, Junior, Flava and Johnny Bevins and two sisters, Finice Elkins and Fonnie Ellkins.
She was of the Old Regular Baptist Faith. She enjoyed dancing, flowers, flea marketing and
Bluegrass music. She was personal friends with Melvin Goins and Bill Monroe.
Surviving to mourn her passing are two sons; Carl (Diane) Williamson, Jr. of Benton, Ky.
and Larry Gilliam of Flatwoods, Ky.; two daughters, Shelby Reynolds of Flatwoods, Ky. and
Kathie Gilliam (French) Workman of Flatwoods, Ky.; a special daughter-in-law, Mary Gilliam
of Turkey Creek, Ky.; two great nieces, Kathleen Cruthers and Carol Hartsfield both of Ocala,
FL; fourteen grandchildren, Alona Gilliam, Ashlee Williamson, Josh Gilliam, Belinda French,
Mike French, Debbie Reynolds, Tim Smith, Jim Smith, Chris Smith, Megan Cathey, B. J.
Gilliam, Jamie Gilliam, Dusty Gilliam and George Gilliam, Jr.; twenty one great grandchildren
and two great great grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1 PM Friday, May 10, 2013 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home, Belfry,
Ky. with Elder Richard Staton and Mark Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Family
Cemetery in Rockhouse, Ky. The viewing will be Wednesday, May 8, 2013 from 6 to 9 PM at
Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, Ky. and also a viewing from 11 AM until time for
funeral at Friday at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home, Belfry, Ky.
Ballard Justice, Jr. 51 of Williamson, WV passed away Sunday, May 12, 2013 at his residence.
He was born July 13, 1961 at Phelps, Ky. the son of the late Ballard Justice Sr. and Verna
Marie Ray Justice.
He was a disabled coal miner and a member of the Truth Tabernacle Church of McVeigh, Ky.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Sue Justice; children, Heather Murray of Baltimore, MD,
Cory Justice of Phyllis, Ky. and Rose Justice; step children, Paul Preece of Brushy, Ky., Lisa
Anderson of Lexington, Ky., Ashley Potter of Sidney, Ky., Samuel Gannon and Carmelitta
Ward of Pikeville, Ky., Nolecca Gannon of Belfry, Ky. and Jenny Gannon of Lexington, Ky.;
brothers, L. C. Justice and Larry Justice of Tennessee; three grandchildren and thirteen step
grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 1 PM at the Truth Tabernacle
Church, McVeigh, Ky. with Brother Roger Egnor and Shawn Gooslin officiating.
John E. "Pete" Lovern, 55 of McAndrews, Ky. passed away Wednesday, May 15,
2013 at his residence.
He was born June 21, 1957 in Pikeville, Ky. the son of the late John C. and Edith M.
Ward Lovern. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Willie Lovern. He was a former
truck driver for Apex Company.
Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Lovern of McAndrews, KY; daughters, Vanity Nees
of Delbarton, WV and Karen Lovern of the home; sister, Susie (Roy) Harrison of McAndrews,
KY; brothers, Andy (Lisa) Lovern of Hardy, Ky. and Tim (Barb) Lovern of Canada, Ky. and a
host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 17, 2013 at 11 AM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home Chapel with Earsel Ray Taylor and Dennis Hinkle officiating. Burial will follow in the
Ward Family Cemetery, Stone, Ky. with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Margaret Ellen Hinkle McCoy, 60 of Sidney, KY passed away Wednesday May 15, 2013
at her residence. She was born July 12, 1952 at Williamson, WV to the late Cecil and Ruth
Hensley Hinkle. She is also preceded in death by one son; Michael Paul Smith and two
brothers; Danny Hinkle and Donald Hinkle. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son; Gregory Paul (Chrystal Gail) Smith of Canada, KY., two
daughters; Vera Kay (Johnny) Edmiston of Sidney, KY., and Judy Ann (Ermal Dehart) Smith
of Belfry, KY., six brothers; Bruce Hinkle of Nolan, WV., Tommy (Sherry) Hinkle of TN.,
Danny (Janie) Hinkle of Brushy, KY., Donald (Francis) Hinkle of Sidney, KY., Gary (Suzie)
Hinkle of Canada, KY., and Bobby Hinkle of Belfry, KY., one sister; Shelia (Bill) Taylor of
Stone, KY., eight grandchildren; Paytron Johnson, Maranda Smith, Shawnda Smith, Katlin
Smith, Johnna Edmiston, Faith Smith, Hannah DeHart and Justin Edmiston and two great
grandchildren; Kynleigh Smith and Kaylee Smith.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 Noon Saturday May 18, 2013 at R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home with Mark Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Cemetery, Sidney, KY
with Johnny Edmiston, Ermal Dehart, Jeremiah Wright, Greg Smith and Gary Hinkle serving as
pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Thursday and Friday night at the funeral home with special
services at 7 PM Friday night with Tommy Hinkle officiating.
Mary Ellen Fink Roehrer, 85 of South Williamson, Ky. passed away Wednesday, May
15, 2013 in the Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pikeville, Ky.
She was born March 27, 1928 at Cinderella, WV the daughter of the late Dewey and
Hester Nelson Stanley. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Randy Fink; her
second husband, Sidney Roehrer; brothers, Calvin and Billy Lloyd Stanley and a sister, Aretta
Johnson.
She was a homemaker and loved to paint. Her art work hangs in the Memorial Church of
Christ of which she is a longtime member.
Survivors include three daughters, Karen (John R.) Jones of Vinton, VA, Vera Kay
Hankins of South Williamson, Ky. and Cindy (Lewis) Hunt of Delbarton, WV; sister, Wilma
Zerbe of South Carolina; grandchildren, Jason Hankins, Nicholas Hankins, Rob Jones, Susan
Jones, Mandy Jones, Danny Jones, Shawn McCoy and Brittany Pauley and several great
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 2 PM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home Chapel with Dwayne Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View
Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky. with Tommy Hankins, Lewis Hunt, Matt Williamson, Shawn
McCoy and other family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 9 PM Friday at the Funeral Home Chapel.
Dora Lee Hackney, 96 of Cicero, IL formerly of McAndrews, Ky. passed away Tuesday,
May 14, 2013 after a long illness at the home of her daughter, Barbara Thomas Blackburn and
son-in-law, Rev. Larry Blackburn.
She was born December 4, 1916 the daughter of the late James and Octavia Blackburn.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Landon Hackney; five brothers, two sisters, two
great great grandchildren, seven stepchildren and her lifelong friend, Marie Blackburn Burchett.
She enjoyed working at the Williamson Memorial Hospital for many years. After
moving to Cicero, IL she attended the First General Baptist Church. She enjoyed the services
very much and her favorite song was "I'll Fly Away". She will be missed by all who knew and
loved her. Special love and appreciation to Jimmy Blackburn of Williamson, WV from her
Family, she loved you like a son and your telephone calls always made her day.
She leaves behind her family which includes her children; Barbara Thomas (Larry)
Blackburn of Cicero, IL, Travis (Carol) Hackney of Luray, TN, Linda (Buddy) Blackburn of
Clinton, IL and John (Ella) Hackney of McAndrews, Ky.; thirteen grandchildren, twenty one
great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, seventeen step grandchildren and a host of
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 20, 2013 at 10 AM in the R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home Chapel with Buddy Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain
View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 5 until 9 PM. at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home of
Belfry.
