Vicie Marie May, 94, of Ransom, KY passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at home
following a lingering illness.
She was born April 6, 1919 at Ransom, Ky. the daughter of the late Pete and Prudie
Sullivan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Amos May.
She was a wife, mother, homemaker and a born again Christian of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by two sons; Charles (Mary) May of Ransom, Ky. and Bill (Charlene)
May of Tavernier, Florida; three daughters, Della Branham of Sidney, Ky., Ann Placek of
Farmdale, Ohio and Gail Lewis of Ransom, Ky.; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren;
one great great grandchild; one sister, Ruby Mayse of Piqua, Ohio one brother, Earl Sullivan of
McCarr, Ky. and a host of nieces and nephews.
At her request, there will be no visitation or funeral services. Graveside services will be
11 AM Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Sullivan Cemetery, Ransom, KY with Mike Smith
officiating.
William Bruce Triplett, 59 of McAndrews, KY passed away
Saturday May 25, 2013 at the Williamson Memorial Hospital.
He was born December 12, 1953 in Pike County, Ky. the son of
the late Bill and Mary Lewis Triplett. He was also preceded in death by
a daughter, Michelle Lee; sisters, LaVada Amburn, Delores Jean Lee,
Judith Ann Triplett, Mary Rose Triplett and Sharlene May and brothers,
George Triplett, John Edward Triplett and Lester Charles Triplett.
He was a former construction worker and welder. He was a
member of the McVeigh United Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Voiler York of Merrimac, WV and Samantha Nicole
Triplett of Williamson, WV; sons, William Bruce Triplett Jr. of Williamson, WV, Robert
Edward Triplett of Delbarton, WV, Brett Allen Triplett of Louisa, Ky. and Christopher Joe
Triplett of Red Jacket, WV; brother, Clifford Triplett of Williamson, WV; sisters, Darlene Lee
of Sidney, Ky. and Zetta Cline of Virgie, Ky.; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild on
the way.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday May 29, 2013 at R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home with Joe Crum officiating. Burial will follow at Merrimac Cemetery, Merrimac, WV
with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Monday and Tuesday night at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home.
Rebecca Ellen "Becky" Coleman, 43 of McAndrews, KY passed away Sunday, May 26,
2013 at Pikeville, KY. She was born July 18, 1969 at South Williamson, KY the daughter of
Eugene and Betty Farley Taylor of Turkey Creek, KY. She was also preceded in death by one
brother; John Robert Taylor.
She was a beautician at Debbie's House of Style.
Besides her parents, she is survived by her husband, Darrell Joseph "Joe" Coleman II of
McAndrews, KY; one daughter, Taylor Shandel (Robbie Childress) Coleman of McAndrews,
KY; one son, Darrell Joseph "D. J." Coleman III of McAndrews, KY; one sister, Vonda Sanders
of Cynthiana, KY; two grandchildren, Braylee Shaeanne Childress and Carlie Dawn Childress;
niece, Sara Taylor; special friends, Renee Maynard and Sandy Sammons and a host of other
loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 Noon Thursday May 30, 2013 at R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home with Mickie Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Reed Cemetery, Turkey
Creek, KY with Paul Coleman, Terry Kinser, Nick Burton, Jim Hubbard, Josh Hubbard, Austin

James Ballard Blackburn, 88 of Canada, KY passed away in his sleep Friday June 7,
2013 at his residence in the caring hands of family.
He was born October 18, 1924 at Canada, KY and was the son of the late Earl and Polly
(Blackburn) Blackburn. He was also preceded in death by five brothers; Roland Blackburn,
Homer Blackburn, Woodrow Blackburn, Millard Blackburn and Paris Blackburn and four
sisters; Imma Jean Blackburn, Mary (Blackburn) Smith, Martha (Blackburn) Mullins and Edna
(Blackburn) Cook.
Ballard spent his life working as a coal miner and truck driver to support the family he
loved so much. Upon retirement, he enjoyed watching baseball games and spending time with
his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren, but most of all, he gave his life to God on
November 1, 1998.
On December 20, 1960, he started his life with Naomi (Smith) Blackburn. In addition to
his wife Naomi, he is survived by five children; Annette (David) Stafford, Kevin Dale
Blackburn (Larry H. Ray), Mickey (Sheila) Blackburn, Jennifer Blackburn and Keri Blackburn.
His six grandchildren; Joshua Stafford, Megan Stafford, Joesph Adkins, Brittany Blackburn,
Jordan Adkins, Dylan Blackburn and seven great grandchildren; Jacob Stafford, Issac Stafford,
Ahna Adkins, Madilyn Williams, Ayden Adkins, Alexis Adkins, Rylan Williams and a host of
nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Monday, June 10, 2013 at R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home with Gary Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow at the Ballard Blackburn
Cemetery at Canada, KY with David Stafford, Johnathan Williams, Darrell Smith, Steven
Smith and Gary Smith serving as pallbearers and three grandsons, Joshua Stafford, Joesph
Adkins and Jordan Adkins serving as Honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Saturday night at the funeral home with special services at 7
PM with Gary Blackburn officiating and Sunday night with special services at 7 PM with
Johnny Hatfield officiating.
Gomer Darrell Staton, 57 of Turkey Creek, Ky. went home to be with his Lord, Sunday,
June 9, 2013.
He was born September 30, 1955 at Pikeville, Ky. the son of the late Burl and Gladis
Staton. He was also preceded in death by a son, Darrell Edward Staton. He was a disabled coal
miner.
Survivors include one daughter, Amanda Staton; two sons, Anthony Paul (Misty) Staton
and Chris (Jessica) Staton; two brothers, Richard (Peggy) Staton and Garrett Lynn (Carol)
Staton; three sisters, Eva Gail Reed, Tammy (Paul) Maynard and Jackie Hatfield; three
grandchildren, Tyler Smith, Kaitlyn Staton and Kylee Staton and a host of other family and
friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 11 AM at the Turkey Creek
Old Regular Baptist Church with Lacy Walters, Harold Blackburn and Hobart Hamilton
officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery, Hatfield, Ky. with Steve Blackburn,
Shannon Crotts, Richard Staton, Donnie Scaggs, Hayden Hatfield, Stevie Blackburn, Byron
Bevins, Jonathan Williamson and Floyd Bevins serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 6 PM Monday and Tuesday at the Turkey Creek Old Regular
Baptist Church with special services both nights at 7 PM. R.E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry
is in charge of arrangements.
Gomer ended his journey here on earth at his home surrounded by the love of his family.
He was a gentle, humble man who lived his life simply. He was lighthearted and had a great
sense of humor. He cherished his kids, grandkids and family and they cherished him. He was a
generous person who would help anyone who asked. He said, the Lord had forgiven him and
he will recieve his reward in heaven. He went into the loving arms of his Savior on Sunday,
June 9, 2013. He will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him. This was written

Shirley Ann Cope, 59, of Williamson, WV, passed away Monday morning, June 10, 2013
at her home.
She was born August 24, 1953 in Williamson, WV the daughter of the late Walter and
Ida Pearl Trout Cope.
Shirley was a retired employee of the South Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital
and a member of the Williamson Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include one brother, Raymond Cope; two sisters, Rose Cope and Sylvia
McCoy; uncle, Earl E. Cope;
aunt, Virginia Buchanan; two nieces, Angel Cope and Tabitha Collins; nephew, William J.
McCoy; great niece, Lisa Cope and great nephew, James Collins.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 1 PM at the R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Kincaid officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View
Memory Gardens, Maher, WV with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Cecil Clinton Coleman, 53, of Williamson, WV, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013
at his home. He was born March 1, 1960 at Williamson, WV the son of Lydia Jane Runyon
Coleman of McVeigh, KY and the late Cecil Coleman.
He was a car mechanic.
Besides his mother, he is survived by one daughter; Tracy Jane Coleman of Williamson,
WV, one son; Cecil Clinton Coleman II of McVeigh, KY, one sister; Teresa Jane Coleman of
Ransom, KY, a step son; Jerry Chapman of FL, a special friend; Tennessee Cook of
Williamson, WV, and one grandchild on the way.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM Saturday June 15, 2013 at R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home with Justin Holbrook officiating. Burial will follow at Coeburn Point Cemetery,
Huddy, KY, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Willie Woodrow Dotson, 74, of Williamson, WV, went home
to be with the Lord, Monday, June 17, 2013, at Williamson Memorial
Hospital. He was born October 15, 1938, at Woodman, KY to the late
Clarence and Eacley Prater Dotson. He is also preceded in death by
one brother; Johnny Dotson and two sisters; Irene Goodman and Ethel C. Lowe.
He was retired from the US ARMY and a deacon at the Little
Hope Primitive Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years; Lalor Ann
Dotson, sons; Michael (Cindy) Dotson of Williamson, WV, John
(Maggie) Dotson of Williamson, WV., and Willie (Laura) Dotson Jr.
of Martin County, KY, step daughters; Darlene Daniels of OH, and Deborah Bailey of Louisa,
KY, brothers; Brady (Joyce) Dotson of Panesville, OH, Alfred (Peggy) Dotson of Panesville,
OH, sister-in-law; Laura Dotson of Panesville, OH, nine grandchildren, eleven step
grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
