Ollie "Buster" Maynard, 90, of Williamson, WV, formerly Turkey
Creek, KY, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013 at his residence. He was
born March 18, 1923 at Piso, Ky, to the late James E. "Ned" and Ida
Nichols Maynard. He is also preceded in death by his first wife; Josephine
Maynard, two sons; Jack Maynard and Rex Maynard, brothers; Glenn, Otto
and James E. Maynard, sisters; Pearl King and Betty Davis.
He was a retired salesman for Montgomery Ward and a veteran of the
US Navy.
He is survived by his wife Gracie Mae Stanley, one son; Larry Maynard of Ypsilanti, MI,
three sisters; Opal Cool of Winchester, KY, Lou Emma Chaffin of Meta, KY, and Bobbie
Leslie of Mt. Olivet, KY, grandchildren; Lisa O'Bryan, Randi Crews, Winnie Maynard and
Dedee Brown, step grandchildren; Timothy Stanley, Roy L Stanley and Ervil Stanley Jr., seven
great grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, sister-in-laws; Yvonne Taylor, Lassie Ratliff,
Patrica Hall, Sandy Barker and Loma Ford, brother-in-law; William Endicott and a host of
loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Friday June 21, 2013 at R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home with Mikey Smith, Jimmy Stanley and Lee Dotson officiating. Burial will follow at the
Maynard-Runyon Cemetery, Piso, KY with Gracie Carrillo, Lisa O'Bryan, Troy O'Bryan,
Dedee Brown, Timothy Stanley and Roy Stanley serving as pallbearers. Belfry DAV Chapter
#141 will conduct military graveside services.
Visitation will be after 6 PM, Wednesday and Thursday night at the funeral home with
special singing both nights at 7 PM.

Carolyn Sue Blackburn, 66, of Tazewell, Tn., passed away Tuesday,
June 18, 2013 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. She was born
April 6, 1947 at River, KY, to the late Jack and Evelyn Price Booth. She is
also preceded in death by one brother, Gary Roger Booth.
She was a nurse aide for the South Williamson Appalachian Regional
Hospital and a member of the McVeigh Independent United Baptist Church.,
She is survived by her husband; Curtis Blackburn, daughters; Anita
Hatfield May of NC, Sue Ellen Mickey of McVeigh, KY, and Nancy Nicole
Thomas of Tazewell, TN, brothers; Dennis Booth of Shelbyville, KY, and
Jack Booth Jr. of Majestic, Ky., sister; Sally Schmidt of Pikeville, KY,
grandchildren; Zachary Reid Hatfield, Amber Briana Lowe, Curtis Chase Mickey, Tabitha
Nicole Thomas and Katie Lynn Thomas.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM Friday June 21, 2013 at the McVeigh Independent
United Baptist Church with Orbie Justice officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View
Memory Gardens, Huddy, KY, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Thursday night at the McVeigh Independent United Baptist
Church with special services at 7 PM.

James Delmon Maynard, 55 of Chattaroy, WV passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at
his home.
He was born May 1, 1958 in Williamson, WV the son of the late Vernal and Ethel
Howell Maynard. He was a retired employee for Goodyear Tire and of the Church of God
Faith.
Survivors include his wife, Ava Wolford Maynard; daughter, Beth Ann Maynard; son,
Kevin Maynard; brothers and sisters, Vernal (Phyllis) Maynard Jr., Ruth Hendricks, Kathy
Goodman, Gracie (Clarence) Hicks, Lester (Chelsey) Maynard, Donnie (Clinton) Hicks, Walter
Maynard and Darlene (Bruce) Hilton; two grandchildren, Hunter and Brice Cantrell.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 1 PM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home Chapel with Earl White officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery,
Chattaroy, WV with Kevin, Lester and Walter Maynard, Bruce Hilton, Matt Cantrell and
William Ellis serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held Friday from 6 until 9 PM at the funeral home chapel.

D. James Keenan, 76 of Stone, Ky. passed away June 25, 2013 at his home. He was born
in Johnstown, PA on March 10, 1937 to the late Dennis J. & Helen Mae Keenan. He was
preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jean R. Murphy. Jim resided in Stone KY and is
survived by his wife of 53 years Yvonne (Donatelli) Keenan, three children Denise Keenan
Knox (Dr. Craig A.) of Lexington; Daniel Joseph Keenan and Dennis James Keenan of Stone;
three grandchildren, Kristen Marie Keenan of Florence, Sarah Yvonne and Morgan Alyn Knox
of Lexington.
His career path spanned from Pittsburgh, PA to Salt Lake City, UT and Green River
Wyoming before retiring from Eastern Coal Corporation, Stone. While at Eastern, Jim trained
the Eastern Coal Mine Rescue Team to a National Championship in 1983.
An avid sports fan, Jim was one of the founders of the Belfry Touchdown Club and
served on the 1984 football coach search committee. He spearheaded revamping the Vipperman
Stadium field in 1984, which included reseeding of the field and new goal posts.
After retirement, Jim served as Assistant State Coordinator for the AARP State Driving
Program. He served as one of the founders and first president of Stone Heritage Inc. He was
also a contributing writer for the Williamson Daily News and a member of Sacred Heart
Catholic Church.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 6 to 9 pm at Rogers Funeral
Home, Belfry, KY.
Services will be held at 8:00 pm by Father Elpidio Geneta of Sacred Heart Catholic
Church. Funeral will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Williamson, WV on
Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 11:00 am.

Rafael Carlus Judkins was born on April 23, 1976 to Annie and the
late Joseph Judkins in Washington, DC. On Monday June 24, 2013, God
called another angel home, as he passed away at Williamson Memorial
Hospital in West Virginia. Rafael was an excellent father, loving spouse,
wonderful son and a wonderful brother. He touched the hearts of many he
came in contact with.
He was a graduate of Shaw Junior High School and attended
Roosevelt Senior High School. He received his GED in 1998.
He leaves many loved ones behind to mourn his memory: his
mother Annie and sister, LaKenya of Washington, DC; his grandparents Mary Lee and John
Horne; aunts and uncles, Evelyn Horne, Johnnie Mae Baker, Rose and Major Evans, JoAnn
Mason, Deborah Austin, Ronnie Judkins, and Joe and Linda Davis; his significant other Holly;
children that will miss and love their father; Jazzlyn, Jeyliona, Adrianna, Brayden, Jamyson,
Raymond, Calvin, and Malik. He leaves behind a host of friends and family members that will
cherish the moments that they shared with him.
Pallbearers will be family and close friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 pm Monday, July 1st at R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home with Mr. David Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memory Gardens
at Maher, WV.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6pm - 9pm on Sunday June 30th.

Pearl Ross Williamson, 94 of Williamson, WV passed away
Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital.
She was born March 2, 1919 in Pike County, Ky. the daughter of the
late Tom and Idella Fields Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her
first husband, Victor Ross; her second husband, K.H. Williamson; son,
Leroy Ross; daughter, Janet Bowling; brothers, Julius Taylor, Thomas
Taylor Jr. and Oscar Taylor; sisters, Bertha Lowe, Opal Sesco, Ruth
Maynard, Maxie Maynard and Birdie Burchett; daughter-in-law, Maxine
Ross and a granddaughter, Delores Ann Ross.
Pearl was a retired employee of the Appalachian Regional Hospital as a dietician and a
member of the Pilgrim Home Old Regular Baptist Church.
Survivors include five grandchildren; Linda (Gerry) Heschel and Sharon (Mike) Sears of
Port Clinton, Ohio, Tina (Jamie) Forrest of Columbus, Ohio, Della (Thomas) Tinch of
Dandridge, TN and LouAnn Justice of Williamson, WV; son-in-law, Thomas Bowling of
Turkey Creek, KY; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren and a host of
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 10 AM in the R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home Chapel with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the
Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky. with the Old Regular Baptist Minister serving as
pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 6 PM Tuesday at the Funeral Home Chapel with special
services at 7 PM.

Floydetta (Poochie) Runyon, 71 of Canada, Ky. passed away Monday, July 1, 2013 at the
Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born January 26, 1942 at Canada, Ky. the daughter of the late Floyd B. and
Gracie Smith. She was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Poochie was the secretary at Bevins Elementary School for over 30 years. She was also a
member of Stone Chapter #533 O.E.S. and the Highland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband, David I. Runyon of Canada, KY; daughters, Teressa
Runyon (Roger A.) Gibbs of London, KY and Melissa Runyon of Paris, KY; son, David
(Jennifer) Runyon II of Canada, KY; six grandchildren, James David Gibbs, Hannah Rose
Gibbs, Samantha Paige Blair, Stephanie Nicole Blair, Zachary David Runyon and Emma Grace
Runyon and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 1 PM in the R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Lattimore and Rev. Bill VanZant officiating. Burial will
follow in the Smith Cemetery, Sidney, Ky. with James David Gibbs, Zachary David Runyon,
Benjamin Smith, Madison Thornsbury, Paul Cochran, Joey Cochran and Franklin D. Smith
serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Ritz, Charles Ritz, Benjamin Russell,
Billy Smith, Tevis Branham and Charles Fuzzy Keesee.
Visitation will be held after 7 PM Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Funeral Home Chapel.
