Janice Lee Pauley Scott, 76, of 215 Crystal Springs Lane, Shelby, died Wednesday, July
3, 2013 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby. She was born July 22, 1936 in Mingo
County, West Virginia she was a daughter of the late Joseph Edward Pauley and Reba
Sammons Pauley. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker and devoted many years as
the primary caregiver to her parents. Mrs. Scott was a member of Bethel Baptist Church,
Shelby, Order of the Eastern Star in Fallston, and an avid volunteer in UCAN, Leona Smith
Neal Senior Center, and Life Enrichment Center in Shelby. Mrs. Scott loved to help anyone in
need and was a true example of what a servant for Christ should be. In addition to her parents
she was preceded in death by her husband, Burl Scott.
Survivors include a son, Jeffery Burl Scott and wife, Valerie of Cary, NC; two daughters,
Rachel Scott Wood and husband, Chris of Gaffney, SC and Marcia Scott Pruitt and husband,
Tim of Asheville; brother, Larry Joseph Pauley and wife, Freida of Shelby; sister, Margaret
Ann Runyon and husband, Harry of Dallas; seven grandchildren, Matthew and Andy Jackson,
Hannah, Spencer, and Mary Beth Wood, Rebekkah and Shelby Scott.

Susan Gayle Bevins, 57 of Pinsonfork, Ky. passed away Tuesday,
July 9, 2013 at the Pikeville Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Susan was born November 8, 1955 in Williamson, WV the daughter
of Evelyn DePoole Borders of Pinsonfork, Ky. and the late Harold
Borders. She was a longtime employee of Community Trust Bank and was
the Supervisor of the South Williamson Branch. She was a graduate of
Belfry High School Class of 1973 and was Miss BHS in 1972. Susan was a
loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and a friend to all. She
was a member of the Belfry United Methodist Church.
Besides her Mother, she is survived by her loving husband, George Joe Bevins of
Pinsonfork, Ky.; son, Derrick Harold (Rachel) Bevins of Huddy, Ky.; daughter, Anna Marie
Bevins of Ashland, Ky.; brother, Harold Irvin (Debbie) Borders of Berea, Ky.; grandchildren,
Michaela, Logan, Christian and was joyfully anticipating the birth of little Sophia Gayle. She
was also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, family and loving friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 1 PM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Stanley and Adam Hall officiating. Entombment will follow
in the Mountain View Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Huddy, Ky. with Les Todd, Barry Crum,
Keith Prater, Jonathan Blackburn, Bobby Varney, Gary Goff, Adam Hall and Harry Catron
serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6 PM until 9 PM Thursday and Friday night at the Funeral

Morgan McCoy, 88 of Williamson, WV passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at
Trinity Healthcare.
He was born December 17, 1924 in Martin County, Ky. the son of the late George and
Jane Collins McCoy. He was also preceded in death by death by his wife, Mildred June McCoy.
He was a former self-employed painter. Survivors include several nieces and nephews
and his friends at Trinity Healthcare.
Graveside services will be held Friday, July 12, 2013 at 11 AM at Mountain View
Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky. with Buddy Kendrick officiating and burial will follow.
Visitation will be held from 10 AM until 11 AM Friday at the Funeral Home.
Sharon Jean Parsons, 64 of Pinsonfork, Ky. passed away Friday
night, July 12, 2013 at the home of her cousin, Jennifer Kinser.
She was born June 29, 1949 at Pinsonfork, Ky. the daughter of the
late Cecil and Lenna Jean May Varney. She was also preceded in death
by her husband, LaGrand Parsons.
Sharon was retired from the Pike County Board of Education
where she had taught at Runyon and Blackberry Elementary Schools.
She was a member and had served as the Secretary of the Williamson
Area Church of Christ. She was a member of Stone Chapter #533 O.E.S.,
a member of Stone Heritage and the Upper Pond Creek Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include her brother, Terry W. (Kathleen) Varney of Akron, Ohio; niece, Alexis
Ludle of Akron, Ohio; nephew, Chris (Jamie) Ludle of Akron, Ohio and a host of other family
and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 11 AM at the Williamson Area
Church of Christ with Donnie Estep officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View
Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky. with Cameron Kinser, Ronnie Kinser, Ronnie Smith, Neal
Smith, Jeffrey Smith, Chris Varney, Ted May and Jerry Cherry serving as pallbearers.

Glenn Webb, 61 of Columbus, Ohio formerly of Williamson, WV
passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013 at his home.
He was born June 3, 1952 in Williamson, WV the son of the late Foster
and Fern Curry Webb. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Bill,
Donald, Roger and Terry Allen Webb. He was a retired employee of St.
Lucie County, Florida as an impoundment operator.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Lenard Webb of Columbus, Ohio;
sons, Terry Allan Webb of Columbus, Ohio and Eric Glen Webb of South
Williamson, Ky.; step sons, Johnny Lee Workman of Columbus, Ohio and
Shawn Anthony Workman of Santa Paula, CA; brothers, Foster Dean "Bob" Webb and Jimmy
L. Webb both of West Williamson, WV, Dennis Webb of Tennessee and Danny Ray Webb of
Conroe, Texas; sisters, Jeanean Cole, Janetta Ling and Darlene Varney all of Florida, Ruth
Curry of Kentucky and Rosemary Forrester of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Kyle Thomas
Webb and Caleb Allan Webb; step grandchildren, Ashley Workman, Jeannie Workman, Johnny
Workman III and Evan Michael Holt; a host of other family and friends and a special friend

Mildred Ann Varney, 91, passed away Tuesday July 9, 2013 at
home in Gilbert, Arizona with loving family members at her side.
Mildred was born June 12, 1922 at Huddy Kentucky, the
oldest daughter of the late Kenna L. & Cordia Trout West. She was
also preceded in death by her husband Ken Thomas Varney, her
Grandparents Amos & Polly Smith West & Lewis & Nellie
Blackburn Trout,
brothers, Jessie Harold West, Glenn West and Charles Ray West.
Mildred was the oldest of 41grandchildren of Amos & Polly
West & oldest of 13 of Lewis & Nellie Blackburn. She loved her family very much. She spoke
often of all her family & her Kentucky roots. She was a loving mother & homemaker. A
member of Arizona Ave. Baptist Church, Chandler Az.
Mildred is survived by two daughters, Judith ( Gary ) Queen Of Monterey, Mexico, Janie
( Roger ) Marley of Gilbert, Arizona & one son Kenneth ( Pat ) Varney of Dewey, Arizona ;
one sister Norma Sue ( Dave ) Smith of Delaware, Ohio, one brother Bobby ( MaeFern ) West
of Oklawaha, Florida; nine grandchildren, Rhonda, Charlie, Brian, Dawn, Scott, Debbie,
DeeDee, Beth, Meredith; nineteen great grandchildren & many nieces & nephews.
Visitation on Thursday July 18, 2013 from 6 to 9 PM at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home
Chapel.
Funeral services will be on Friday July 19th, 2013 at 12 noon with Rev. Garry Queen
officiating at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Smith Cemetery, Sidney Ky.

Charles David "Dave" Staton, 67, of Sunset Addition,
Williamson, West Virginia, passed away on July 16, 2013, surrounded
by those who loved and understood him best, his devoted wife Lynette
Mullins Staton, loving daughter Kendra L. Staton, and her companion
Sammy J. Maynard II (Charles' Superman). Charles was born on May
8, 1946, at Road Fork (Forest Hills), Kentucky, to Thelma J. Staton and
the late Abel Staton. He was preceded in death by his paternal
grandparents Roland and Sarah Staton, maternal grandparents Clyde
and Lillian Maynard, and brother, Randall "Randy" Staton.
Charles was a lifelong member of the Forest Hills Baptist Church and a 1964 graduate of
Belfry High School in Belfry, Kentucky. He continued his education at Cumberland College
and Marshall University. He was the sole owner and operator of Tug Valley Electric Company
for forty years where his business ethics consisted of a handshake agreement and an unwavering
integrity. Charles was an avid reader of many genres that ranged from James Patterson novels to
the Sunday Lexington Herald Leader. He cherished the local community and exhibited a pride
in his lineage by sharing knowledge of genealogy with others. Besides his family, Charles'
passion for living consisted of an unrivaled knowledge and fervent appreciation for all sports.
This lifelong passion for sports continues through the legacy of his daughter forged from the
common love they shared for Kentucky Wildcats basketball and Cincinnati Reds baseball.
Those individuals left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife of forty-five years
Lynette Mullins Staton, daughter Kendra L. Staton, and her companion Sammy J. Maynard II.
He is also survived by his mother Thelma J. Staton; sister Deborah Ann Staton; mother -in-law
Lois Collins; sisters-in-law Regina Christensen, Pamela Mendoza, and Cathy Marrara; nieces
Gigi Blatt and Katelyn, Emily, and Carli Mendoza; nephews Brandon and Zachary Staton,
Adam and Joshua Marrara, and Craig Aurilio.
A private family visitation for Charles will occur at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home on
Friday, July 19, 2013, between the hours of 4 PM and 6 PM. Family will begin receiving the
public at 6 PM.
A celebration of Charles' life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at 1 PM with Jarrod
Belcher officiating. Commitment services will follow at Mountain View Memory Gardens in
Huddy, Kentucky, with Brandon Staton, Zachary Staton, Adam Marrara, Joshua Marrara, Craig
Aurilio, Pete Wellman, and Mitch Rose serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will
include Sammy J. Maynard II, Denny Moore, Leon Miller, Elmer Kevish, Dwight Maynard,
and Justin Maynard.
