Loretta Allen, 83 0f Belfry, Ky passed away Saturday August 17,
2013 at the Skilled Nursing Unit of the South Williamson Appalachian
Regional Hospital.
She was born June 12, 1930 at Pike County, Ky to the late Henry
and Lydia Varney Williams. She was also preceded in death by her first
husband; Laydon Varney, her second husband; George Allen, one son;
Clayton Michael Varney and thirteen brothers and sisters.
She was a retired header operaton for I.T.W. Industries in Elgin, Il,
and a member of the Toler Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son; Layton (Renee) Varney of Poplar Grove, Il, two step
daughters, one brother; Jack (Juanita) Williams of Ashland, KY, nine grandchildren, 6 step
grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 PM Tuesday August 20, 2013 at Mountain View memory Gardens, Huddy, KY.
Janice Faye Hunter, 74 of Williamson, WV passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the
Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, Ky.
She was born September 22, 1937 at Stone, Ky. the daughter of the late Lovell A. and
Shirley Blanton Kirby.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Lou Mullins,
Margaret Ann Kirby and a brother, Roger Kirby.
Survivors include two daughters, Paula Mickel of Belfry, Kentucky and Debra Nasser of
Delbarton, West Virginia; two grandchildren, Justin Dean and Rebecca Loughry of Charleston,
West Virginia and two great grandchildren, Jalen and Emma Loughry of Charleston, West Virginia.
Janice was a homemaker and was a resident of Trinity Healthcare of Williamson, West
Virginia for the past three years. Special thanks to the staff at Trinity and Stat Ambulance who
took such excellent loving care of Janice and all of whom she loved dearly.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
Elijah Evans, 72, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Friday, March 2, 2012 at his residence
in Columbus.
Born November 19, 1939 at Oppy, Martin County, Kentucky a son of the late William
Cull and Florence May (Brown) Evans. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by stepson, James Thomas Roberts; brothers, William McCull Evans and Grover Cleveland Evans; sister, Martha Jane Murphy; half sister, Hattie Beulah Wiley.
Elijah was a loving husband and father. He worked at Capitol Manufacturing in Columbus, Ohio till he became disabled and unable to work. He served his country with the United
States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Lois (Smith) Evans; brother, Charles Wilson Evans; sisters, Mary Esther Butts, Gertrude Elizabeth Murphy, Minnie Hanshaw, Rose Annabelle Fisher
and Ruby Jean Evans; half sister, Addye Yvonne (Rodney) Lee.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 PM Thursday March 8, 2012 at Evans Cemetery, Lovely, KY.
William T. Carter, of Tavares, FL, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at the age of 90 years.
He was born in Pikeville, Kentucky and moved to Florida in
1984 from Kentucky. Besides his parents he was preceded in death
by his loving wife of 71 years, Pauline Carter; sons-in-law, Alfred
Coleman and Moses Lowe.
William was a retired coal miner, a veteran of the U.S.Army
and a member of the Turkey Creek Freewill Baptist Church. He was
also an avid fisherman.
William is survived by sons, Reverend Mike Carter and his
wife, Judy of Coleman, Florida, , Gregg Carter and his wife Ann of
Santa Fe, New Mexico and Mark Carter and his wife, Debra of Turkey Creek, Kentucky;
daughters, Patricia Coleman of Tavares, Florida and Novella Lowe of Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida; as well as six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Friends are invited to gather for viewing on Thursday, March 15, 2012, from 11 AM until
1 PM at Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, Kentucky.
Burial will be at Mountain View Memory Gardens at Huddy, Kentucky.
Ricky Mullins 58, of Pinsonfork, KY, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012, at
McVeigh, Kentucky.
He was born January 8, 1954 in Williamson, WV, to Josephine West Mullins of
McAndrews, KY and the late Billy "Bob" Mullins. He is also preceded in death by one brother;
Ronnie Mullins.
He was a plumber and a veteran of the U. S. Air Force.
In addition to his mother he is survived by one daughter; April Rena Mullins of Berea,
KY one son; Billy Richard Mullins of Lexington, KY; one brother; Ervin Mullins of Norfolk,
Va ; one sister; Jo Anne Williamson of Stone, KY and one grandchild; James Richard Mullins
of Matewan, WV.
Per Ricky's request there will be no visitation, only direct cremation.
Channing Dwayne Adkins, 33 of McCarr, Ky. passed away Saturday, September 17, 2011.
He was born February 3, 1978 at Pikeville, Ky. the son of Terry
"Rick" and Pamela Fletcher Adkins of McCarr, KY.
He was a former coal miner and a graduate of Belfry High School
Class of 1996.
He was also preceded in death by his girlfriend, Terri Honaker;
maternal grandparents, Milton and June Fletcher; paternal grandfather,
Denton Adkins; aunt, Linda Kay Fletcher and uncles, Arthur Dale and
David Adkins.
Other survivors include a son, Brandon Dwayne Adkins of Washington, Pa.; sister, Sabrina Renee (Brandon) Estep of McCarr, Ky.; paternal grandmother, Bessie Adkins of McCarr,
Ky.; special aunt and uncle, Brenda and Joe Tomsovic of Williamson, WV; aunts, Carolyn
(Robert) Daughtery, Linda (Kennis) McCoy and Mary New all of Freeburn, Ky.; uncles, Larry
Gene (Irene) Fletcher and Thurman Lee Fletcher of Illinois; nieces, Kirsten and Megan Thompson of Stopover, Ky.; special cousins, Theresa, Timothy and Taylor Epling of Williamson, WV
and Tim Epling of Williamson, WV, and a host of other family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Carl Butler of the Matewan Missionary Baptist Church officiating.
Visitation will be held after 12:30 PM till time of the services.

George David Hackney, 31 of Pikeville, KY, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012.
He was born March 16, 1981 in Williamson, WV the son of the late Chester David and
Barbara Jean Davis Hackney. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Amy Sue Jones.
Survivors include one son, Lucas Gage Hackney, one daughter, Aalyiah Carys Hackney
both of Pikeville, Ky.; two sisters, Melisa Lynn Pauley of Logan, WV and Sabrina Kay Adkins
of Pikeville, Ky.; nieces and nephews, Christopher Shawn Jones, Anthony Lark Jones Jr., Nathan Andrew Jones, Timothy Ryan Jones, Heather Nicole Breedlove and Jacob Thomas Edward
Adkins and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Sunday, March 18, 2012 at the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Fred Klatka officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hackney Cemetery, McAndrews, Ky. with family and friends
serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 17, 2012 after 6 PM in the funeral home chapel.
Estie May, 88, of McAndrews, KY, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012, at the Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born March 11, 1924, in Pike County, KY the daughter of the late Cleveland and
Louisa Slone May. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Howard Justice and Clyde
May.
Estie was a homemaker and a member of the Belfry Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Jackie Howard Justice and Larry B. Justice both of
McAndrews, Ky.; brother, Everett May of Grove City, Ohio; sister, Lora Ramey of
McAndrews, Ky.; four grandchildren, Jeffery Justice, Tammy Slone, Elizabeth Sanchez and
Kimberly Stanley; nine great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 11 AM with Buddy Kendrick
officiating.
Burial will follow in the Cleve May Cemetery, McAndrews, Ky. with family and friends
serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 5:30 PM Monday, March 19, 2012 in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with special services beginning at 6 PM.
