Donovan Rylen Steele infant son of Chad and Kimberlee Alley Steele of Belfry, KY,
went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the South Williamson Appalachian
Regional Hospital.
Other than his parents, Donovan is survived by a sister, Deona Grace Steele; maternal
grandparents, Robert and Pam Alley of Belfry, Ky.; paternal grandparents, Joey Steele and
Donna Hall of Sidney, Ky.; paternal great grandparents, Joe Hall of Louisa, Ky., Ella Hall of
Belfry, Ky. and Dorothy Steele of Irvine, Ky. and a host of loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandparents, Delmar and Laurine Alley
and Harold and Pauline Gooslin May and his paternal great grandfather, Bill Steele.
There will be a visitation on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 from 10 AM till 12 PM at R. E.
Rogers Funeral Home, Belfry, Ky. followed by a graveside service at 12:30 PM with Donnie
Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at the Alley Cemetery, Ransom, KY, with Austin Alley, Austin Hall and Matt Smith serving as pallbearers.
Mary Katherine Norman, 51, of Matewan, WV, died March 19 at Williamson Memorial
Hospital following a hard fought battle with cancer.
Born January 22, 1961, Kathy was the daughter of Jerry and Pat Looney of Goody, KY.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by one son, Billy Shawn Simon of Matewan; a
brother, Keith (Jeanie) Looney and son Ryan of Turkey Creek, Ky.; one sister, Angela Ward
and daughter Crystal of Wellington, FL.; special aunts, Ethel Burdett of Little Venice, FL., Joan
Bland of Clarksville, IN, Sue Crawford of New Salisbury, IN, Diana Crawford of Stone, Ky.
and Donna (Jack) Deskins of Pinsonfork, Ky.; uncles, Frank Crawford of Turkey Creek, Ky.,
Jim (Libby) Crawford of Buckner, Ky. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Kathy was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Harry and Hazel (Rowe) Crawford;
uncles, Joe, L.D., Bruce and Cary Crawford and aunt and uncle, Ray and Onita Dugard.
Kathy attended Runyon Runyon Elementary and graduated from Belfry High School. She
worked at One Hour Dry Cleaning, McCarr Mini-Mall and Magic Mart.
As per her final wishes, she will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later
date.
Eunice Hackney, 69, of Belfry, KY, passed away Friday
March 23, 2012 at Mountain View Healthcare Center.
She was born October 24, 1942 at Belfry, Ky. the daughter of
the late Rush and Gracie Ball Blackburn. She is also preceded in
death by her ex-husband; Harold Hackney, sister; Janice Maynard
and brother; Russell Blackburn. Eunice was a homemaker and a
member of the Sharondale Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Zelma Irene Blackburn of
Belfry, Ky. and Madonna Sue (Earl) Hackney of Canada, Ky.; two
brothers, Jim (Joan) Blackburn of Canada, Ky. and Tunis Blackburn
of Indiana; sister-in-law, Rita Blackburn of Hardy, Ky.; four grandchildren, Jina Gibson, Eunice
Murphy, Adam Blackburn and Courtney Blackburn; three great grandchildren, Autumn, Raven
and Gaven Gibson and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 2 PM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Werntz officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackburn Cemetery,
Belfry, KY, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 6 PM on Saturday, March 24 at the Funeral Home with special services at 7 PM.
Marie Williamson, 91, of Belfry, KY, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Williamson Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 24, 1920 at Fishtrap, Ky. the daughter of the late James Williamson
Jr. and Allie Thacker Williamson. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Luther and Floyd
who died in infancy and Charlie, Landon, Eugene and Edward Williamson and two sisters,
Flossie Coleman and Florence Justice.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by four nieces; Joyce Williamson, Helen Smith, Delores Brewer and Edwina White; seven nephews; Bruce Williamson, Glenn Williamson, Harold Williamson, Reginald Williamson, Derek Williamson, Gerald Coleman and Donald Coleman and a host of
great nieces and great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews.
In keeping with Marie's wishes there will be a private burial held at the Coleman Cemetery, Huddy, KY.
Danny Joe Childress, 65, of Chattaroy, WV, went to be with
the Lord, Sunday, March 25, 2012 at his home.
He was born February 4, 1947 at Bartley, WV, the son of the
late Robert (Bob) Childress and Alice Jean Howell Childress. He
was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Childress and
James (Jim Tom) Childress and one sister, Michaelle Childress
Wallen.
He was an active member of the USBC Bowling Association.
He was a disabled Vietnam Army Veteran and a member of the
Chattaroy Gospel Revelation Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mattie Kidd Keaton Childress of
Chattaroy, WV; three daughters, Tammy (John) Maynard of Sidney,
Ky., Karen (Calvin) Keaton Rogers of Chattaroy, WV and Danita
Maile of Elizabethtown, Ky.; two brothers, David (Louise) Childress of Williamson, WV and
Danny Ray Childress of Stone, Ky.; three sisters, Gloria Childress Kennedy of Michigan, Alice
Fay Childress Brugh of McVeigh, Ky. and Shelia Kay Childress Whitt of Stone, Ky.; nine
grandchildren, Briana Bentley, Ashley (Jimmy) Keaton McCoy, Amber Orndoff, Chase
Orndoff, Cayley Maynard, Jacob Maile, Destiny, Ashley and Paulina Browning and several
nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends and a close dear friend, Don Collins.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 1 PM in the R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home Chapel with Freddie Runyon officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain
View Memory Gardens, Maher, WV with Calvin Rogers, Mitchell Smith, Shane Childress,
Robbie Childress, Danny Ray Childress, Chad Childress, Christopher Wallen and Timmy
McCoy serving as pallbearers. Belfry Chapter #141 DAV will conduct Military Graveside Services.
Visitation will be held after 6 PM Tuesday, March 27, 2012 in the Funeral Home Chapel
with special services at 7 PM with Delbert McCoy officiating.
Larry Phillip McCoy, 61, of Punta Gorda, Florida, formerly of
Burnwell, Kentucky died Saturday, March 24, at the VA Hospital in
St. Petersburg, Florida.
Born June 19, 1950, at Lovely, Kentucky, Larry was a son of
the late George Clarence and Ida Hatfield McCoy. He was also preceded in death by his sister; Linda McCoy Lott.
He was retired from Sun Belt Coatings, Lake City, Florida and
was a United States Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Teddie Hamilton McCoy; two Stepchildren, Piper (Michael) Lewis of Lexington, Kentucky and Shawn Presnell of Lexington,
Kentucky; two grandchildren: Logan and Addison Lewis; five brothers, Vernon Henry McCoy
of Jasper, Florida, George (Jane) McCoy of Lexington, South Carolina, Frank (Anita) McCoy,
Burnwell, Kentucky, Lonnie (JoAnn) McCoy of Indianapolis, Indiana and David (Diana)
McCoy of Richmond, Kentucky; two sisters; Mildred (Winston) Bass, Live Oak, Florida, and
Martha (Danny) Harvel of Turkey Creek, Kentucky; Also survived by several loving nephews,
nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Larry also loved his dogs, Sugar and Buster.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon Thursday, March 29, 2012, at the Rogers Funeral
Home Chapel with Brother Jerry McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery
at Burnwell, Kentucky with nephews serving as pallbearers. Belfry DAV Chapter #141 will
have Military Services.

Loretta Hatfield 85, of Canada, KY, passed away Friday March 30, 2012, at Pikeville
Medical Center.
She was born January 15, 1927 at Tomahawk, KY to the late Bill and Lucinda Mills Allen. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Hatfield Sr.; one son; Terry Hatfield,
brothers; Ben Allen and James Rubin "Prod" Allen, Sister; Ave Allen.
She was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great
grandmother.
She is survived by her children; Ralph Hatfield of Pangburn, AR., Billy Ray Hatfield of
Buskirk, KY., Lois Derossett of Canada, KY., Wanda Hatfield of Letcher, KY., and Jerry Hatfield of Bedford, TX., brothers; Alvin Allen of Roanoke, Va., Joe Allen of Beardsfork, W.V.,
Roger Allen of Parkersburg, W.V., Harold Allen of Charleston, W.V., Bud Allen and Sonny Allen. Sisters: Lena Mae Hinkle of Columbus, OH, Irene Hakett, Hattie Zieglar and Mary Poland
as well as twelve grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Walter Kenneth Barker, 63, of Meador, WV, passed away Sunday April 1, 2012 at the
South Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital.
He was born June 24, 1924 at Chattaroy, W.V. to the late Carl and Bessie McCoy Barker.
He is also preceded in death by one brother; Robert Barker and two sisters; Charlotte Bondi and
Sylvia Christian.
He was a coal miner, a veteran of the U.S. Army, member of the U.M.W.A. and a member of the Red Jacket Community Church.
He is survived by his wife; Brenda Edwards Barker, son; Walter Kenneth (Edna) Barker
Jr. of Hatfield, KY. daughter; Ridale (Rob) Barker Perry of Bowling Green, KY., brother; Carl
(Diana) Barker of TN, sisters; Nancy (Ed) Estepp of N.C. and Brenda (Johnny) Vaggot of Red
Jacket, W.V. grandchildren; Heather Carroll, Hannah Carroll, Robi Perry and Elijah Perry.
