Willard F. Wesley
LIBERTY -- Willard F. Wesley, 58, of Reading, Ohio, died Saturday at the Drake Center.
Born June 28, 1941, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Herbert and Madeline Lee Wesley. He was an employee of Ford Motor Co.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Hughes Wesley; two daughters, Pamela Hof of Norwood, Ohio, and Sherrie A. Musselwhite of Reading; a son, Willard R. Wesley of Independence; four sisters, Opel Sideler of Norwood, Christine Meyers and Nancy Taylor, both of Liberty, and Ivadean Abbott of Ohio; three brothers, Skylar Wesley of Norwod, James Wesley of Liberty and Clyde Wesley of Harrodsburg; and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bartle Funeral Home by Frank Stewart. Burial will be in Peavey Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Anna S. Johnson
Services for Anna Sargent Johnson, 73, of Short Acres Lane, Junction City, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Stith Funeral Home by the Revs. Ricky Shannon and Wayne Malone. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
She died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Pallbearers will be Jeffery Johnson, James Carrier Jr., Greg Price, Bradley and Nathan Hasty and Timothy Johnson.

Ethel M. Scott
LANCASTER -- Services for Ethel Malear Scott, 97, of Hill-n-Dale Drive will be 2 p.m. today at Ramsey Funeral Home by the Revs. Pete Arnold and Robert Coppings. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.
She died Friday at her home.
Born May 16, 1902 in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Mary Sowers Malear. She was a homemaker and teacher for many years. She taught Sunday School at several churches where her late husband, the Rev. Robert F. Scott, pastored.
Survivors include four daughters, Virginia Russell of Louisville, Clara Dean Scott of Lancaster, Doris Neil of Russell and Mary Claxton of Frankfort; two sons, Charles W. Scott of Harrodsburg and the Rev. Robert J. Scott of Austin, Texas; a brother, Harold Malear of Richmond; two sisters, Lillian Brandonburg and Margorie Long, both of Richmond; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Sister Jean Marie Callahan
SPRINGFIELD -- Sister Jean Marie Callahan, founding president of St. Catharine College, has died of injuries received in an auto accident. She was 87.
Callahan, injured Feb. 24 at Loretto, died Thursday at University Hospital in Louisville.
A Dominican of St. Catharine since 1934, she served as academic dean and president of St. Catharine College from 1955-1967. Most recently, she served as an assistant development officer at the college.
In 1992, the college awarded her its prestigious Veritas Award for her promotion of truth throughout her educational career.
Callahan served as principal of St. Cecilia High School in Hastings, Neb., from 1967-1972, and from 1976-1984 was principal of our Lady of Mount Carmel School and St. Vincent de Paul School in Louisville. Later, she was principal of St. Mel School in Gloucester, Mass.
She served on the governing board of the Dominicans of St. Catharine from 1972-80.
"Sister Jean Marie Callahan's long and full life embodied the Dominican charism," said Sister Jean Scanlon, president of the Dominicans of St. Catharine. "She was deeply committed to the mission of the Dominicans of St. Catharine and was always willing to serve in any capacity. Her generous and playful spirit inspired many people and helped to create communities of friendship and love everywhere she went. She was faithful to the charism of the Dominican Order until the moment of her death. She was a loyal daughter of the church. We are comforted by our many memories of her life."
Surviving are a sister, Sister Suzanne Callahan at St. Catharine; and two brothers, Thomas Callahan, Louisville, and Lawrence Callahan, Washington, D.C.
Visitation is scheduled from 1-7 p.m. today at Saint Catharine Motherhouse. Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Catharine Hall.

LIBERTY -- Lawrence Delk, 69, of Cincinnati, formerly of Casey County, died Friday in Cincinnati.
Born April 20, 1930, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Roy and Mae Wilkerson Delk. He was a retired Formicia Corp. employee and the widower of Buelah Overstreet Delk.
Survivors include a son, Larry Delk of Loveland, Ohio; a daughter, Sondra Richardson of Dunnville; two brothers, Attis and Kenneth Delk, both of Cincinnati; and two sisters, Betty Lee of Harrison, Ohio, and Rosemary Minton of Science Hill.
Services will be 3 p.m. Monday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.

Marvin Hardin
SPRINGFIELD -- Marvin H. Hardin, 92, of the Deep Creek community died Thursday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 5, 1907, in Washington County, he was a son of the late James Allen and George Ann Baker Hardin. He was a retired farmer and member of Rockbridge Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Delaine Hardin of Harrodsburg; a daughter, Mary Lavon Devine of Springfield; a stepson, Desmond Smock of Harrodsburg; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Carey & Son Funeral Home by the Rev. James Harley. Burial will be in Peter Cemetery.

James C. "J.C." Patterson
HARRODSBURG -- James Calvin "J.C." Patterson, 84, of Talmage-Mayo Road died Friday at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 13, 1915, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Goldman and Ethel Woods Patterson. He retired from Southern States Cooperative after 27 years, had served with the Kentucky National Guard, and was a member of Masonic Lodge 777.
Survivors include his wife, Emily Jenkins Patterson; two daughters, Judy Griffin and Lisa Patterson, both of Harrodsburg; and two sisters, Grace Demaree of Louisville and Edna Hogue of Mercer County.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home by Richard Easterling and Donnie Releford. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- Oval Talmage Powell, 79, of Asheville died Thursday in a local hospital.
A native of Hendersonville, he was the son of the late Dewit Talmage and Cora Lamb Powell. He was a retired freelance writer.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Morgan Powell; a son, Paul T. Powell of Danville; and two grandchildren.

Mossie Rule
LIBERTY -- Mossie Rule, 98, of Hustonville Street died Thursday in Hilton Head, S.C.
Born Jan. 27, 1902, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Lucy Piles Bell. She was a retired department store owner and the widow of Dallas Rule. She was a member of First Christian Church and a former member of the Casey County Hospital Board.
Survivors include a daughter, Edith Adams of Hilton Head; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by the Rev. Homer Hecht. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
