Wanda Sue Hunt, 73 of Toler, Ky. went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 11, 2014 .
She was born November 3, 1940 to the late Ferrell and Frances
Ray. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hunt
and their daughter, Ruby Elizabeth Hunt. Also deceased are her
sisters, Linda Thacker and Doris Ray and brothers, William Ed Ray,
Ferrell Ray, Jr. and Paul Ray.
She was a member of the Stone Baptist Church for many years
where she taught Bible school and love to sing.
She is survived by her children, Rhonda (Dwight) Stacy of Belfry,
KY, Jeff Hunt of Charleston, WV, Darlena (Colin) Berry of Williamson, WV and Penny Hunt
of Toler, KY; grandson, Dustin E. Stacy of Belfry, KY; step-children, Charlene Bradley of
Huntington, WV, Geneva (John) Moon of Stone, KY, Connie (Tommy) Bevins of Turkey
Creek, KY and Bud (Louella) Hunt of Stone, KY; many step-grandchildren, great
grandchildren, nieces and nephews; her brothers, Johnny (Fran) Ray of Hardy, KY, Thomas
(Kaye) Ray of Turkey Creek, KY and Clifford (Gail) Ray of Williamson, WV; sister, Paula Ray
of Belfry, KY; sister-in-law, Daisy Ray of Turkey Creek, KY and special friends, Glennis Moore and Goldie Palmer.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 14, 2014 at 11:30 AM at the First United
Methodist Church on Second Avenue in Williamson, WV with Alan Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, KY.

Clifton (Duke) Rife, 73 of Brockport, NY formerly of Pike County, KY died Sunday,
January 26, 2014 at Park Ridge Hospital in Rochester, NY.
He was born August 22, 1940 in Pike County, Ky. he was the son of the late Burgess (Dock) and Leslie Rife.
He was also preceded in death by his two sons, Leondis and Clifton Rife II and one brother, Troy T. Rife.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Billie Hensley Rife; his beloved
grandchildren, Michael, Brittney and Clifton Rife II; two great grandchildren, Austin and
Hunter; two daughter-in-laws, Lori and Kristine; fourteen brothers and sisters, Mrs. Trenna
Dyer, Jackie Rife and Elmer Rife all of Garden City, MI, Mrs. Jeanell Sinks of Livonia, MI,
Ms. Gaynell Rife of Atlanta, GA, Ms. Shirley Rife of Redford, MI, Mrs. Glemal DeMink of
Plymouth, MI, Larry and Ermal Rife both of Zebulon, KY, Burgess Dock Jr., Billie Ray, Ethel
G., Carolyn Sue and Mrs. Marilyn Dotty all reside locally; several brother and sister-in-laws,

Ted Francis, 71 of McAndrews, Ky. went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 16, 2014
at Pikeville Medical Center.
Ted was born on April 10, 1943 at Varney, Ky. the son of the late Jessie and Ola Dotson
Francis and one brother, Roy Francis.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie Ann (Deskins) Francis of McAndrews, Ky; two children, a
son, Anthony (Leigh Ann) Francis of Chattaroy, WV and Meletta (J.B.) Dotson of Ransom,
KY; two grandchildren he loved dearly, Garett (M'Kayla) Francis of Chattaroy, WV and
Kerrigan Grace Dotson of Ransom, KY; one brother, Quincy (Josephine) Francis of
Elizabethtown, KY; two sisters, Nell (Paris) Canada of Brushy, KY and Garlene (Clyde)
Workman of Pikeville, KY and a host of other family and friends.

Charles Ray Smith, 68 of McVeigh, Ky. passed away Friday, April 18,
2014 at Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born June 25, 1945 in Pike County, Ky. the son of the late Onis
Smith and Zella Justice Smith. He was also preceded in death by brothers,
Bob, Darrell and Kenneth Smith; half brother: Dewey Abshire and half
sisters, Bernice Collins and Wilma Dunn.
He was retired from Ford Motor Company, a veteran of the US and a
member of the McAndrews Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Suzanne Hensley of Lenore, WV and
Karen Smith of Turkey Creek, KY; brother, Willard (Bobbie) Smith of
McVeigh, KY; sisters, Diana (Gether) Taylor, Francis Williamson and Audrey Scott all of
McVeigh, KY; four grandchildren; special aunt, Candy Taylor and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 20, 2014 at 3 PM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home Chapel with Dennis Wolford officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery,
McVeigh, Ky. with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Belfry Chapter #141 will conduct
military graveside services.

Mark Pierce Hager, 43 of Huddy, Ky. went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at his home.
He was born September 29, 1970 the son of the late Pierce and Nettie Fern Hager.
He was an active member of the Jesus Way Church of Belfry, Ky. and a disabled coal miner.
Survivors include three children, Dylon, Hope and Garrett Hager of Forest
Hills, KY; brothers, Rocky Hager of Clarksville, TN and Jesse Hager of
Ransom, KY; sisters, Judy Scott of Sanford, NC, Tammy Curry of
Wilmington, NC and Phyllis Simpson of Belfry, KY and a host of other
family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the Jesus Way Church,
Belfry, KY with Pastor Ravin Fields officiating. Burial will follow in the Willie Jake Hager Cemetery, Ransom, Ky.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 21 after 6 PM at the Church with special services at 7 PM.
Earl M. Brown, 85 of South Williamson, Ky. a retired Norfolk &
Southern employee passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the
Appalachian Regional Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit. His family
was at his side and his death came just three weeks after the death
of his beloved wife, Dorothy Clay Brown.
He was born on September 4, 1928 to the late William and Alma
Amburgey Brown of Williamson. Aside from is parents and wife,
he was preceded in death by his brothers, former Williamson Mayor
John H. Brown, Harold Brown and R. C. Brown; one sister, Bernice
Salyers and son, Ben Bernie Hubbard.
He is survived by his children, John (Paula) Brown of
Williamson, Karen Brown of Roanoke, VA, Susan Frederick of
Columbus, OH, Terri (Chris) Simpkins of Roanoke, VA, Cassie
(Jeff) Smith of Elkhorn City, KY and Dona (Larry) Sinigiani of San Francisco, CA;
grandchildren, Bradley Bono, Marissa Bono, Ashley Brown, Kimberly Brown, John David
Frederick, Rachel Frederick, Abigail Simpkins, Meagan Hubbard, Gerald Hendrik and Alisha
McGee; great grandchildren, Emmeline Prima, Caleb Hosier, Trenton McGee and Dylan
McGee; adopted daughter, Marina Loftis, special friend, Dru Hunt and a host of family and
friends who as Earl would say, that he loved in the highest tone.
A veteran of the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War, he was a radio technician on
aircraft serving from 1950-1954 interrupting his tenure with the railroad. He was employed
with the Norfolk & Southern Railway for 46 years having retired in 1987. He also worked and
retired from the City of Williamson Water Treatment Plant.
Per his wishes, Earl will be cremated and his cremains and those of his wife, Dorothy, will
be buried together at the Mountain View Memory Gardens Cemetery at Huddy, Ky. at a later
date. A Memorial Service will be held at that time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to St. Jude's Children Research
Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
Shirley Ann Leedy, 78 of McAndrews, Ky. passed away Monday, April 21, 2014 at her home.
She was born April 20, 1936 in Columbus, Ohio the daughter of the late
Joseph Dwight and Martha West. She was also preceded in death by her
husband, Wayne Leedy; two sons, Johnny Wayne and Danny Wayne Leedy
and a sister, Martha Matilda Foster.
Shirley worked in retail at Cantees Department Store and several others
during her life. She was also of the Freewill Baptist Faith.
Survivors include four daughters, Pamela Leedy of Lenore, WV,
Christina (Dwayne) Bailey of Kimper, KY, Beverly (Greg) Farley of
McAndrews, KY and Rhonda (Dale) Treen of Middleburg, FL; grandchildren, Christopher
Bailey, Morgan Brooks, Charlie Treen, Brittany Mattox, Whitney Farley, Kayla Treen and
Kaycee Farley; six great grandchildren and a host of other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 25, 2014 at 2 PM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home Chapel with Freewill Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain
View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky. with her grandsons and son-in-laws serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6 - 9 PM Wednesday and Thursday at the Funeral Home with
special services Thursday night at 7 PM.
