Elena Denise NaRa'e Kidd, 3 month old baby of Savannah Kristen
Fields Kidd and Shawn Aaron Kidd of Williamson, WV, passed away
Monday, April 21, 2014 at the Williamson Memorial Hospital. Elena was
born January 3, 2014 at Pikeville, KY. To our beautiful baby girl, we love
you and we will miss you.
Besides her parents, she is survived by her brother; Conner Grayson
Kidd, grandparents; Larry (Bonnie) Kidd of Lexington, KY, Drema
(Tommy) Crank of Turkey Creek, KY, James Fields of Williamson, WV,
and Marie Fields of Rockhouse, KY., aunts and uncles; Tara Kidd,
Bethany (Jonathan) Thomas, Kelsi Crank, Seth Crank, Austin Crank,
Jonathan Williamson, Beth Ann Wallen and Alysa Wallen, cousin; Gavin Thomas and God
parents; Josh and Mandy Cullop.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Thursday, April 24, 2014 at R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home with Ron Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memory
Gardens, Maher, WV with Tommy Crank, Larry Kidd, Josh Cullop, James Fields and Jonathan
Thomas serving as pallbearers.
Emelie Hanners Smith Clevinger, 82 of Pikeville, KY passed away
Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY.
Emelie was born July 18, 1931 in Pike County, KY the daughter of the
late Ernest and Lassie Lowe Hanners. She was also preceded in death by
her first husband, Ralph Smith and her second husband, Leon Clevinger; her
brother, Philip Hanners and sister, Hazel Taylor.
Emelie worked at the Pike County Funeral Home at Zebulon in the early
1990's where she was loved by all. She was also a homemaker and a loving
wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.
Survivors include her children, Philip Ralph (Margaret) Smith of
Pikeville, KY, Linda Kay (Roger) Justice of Harold, KY and Rachel Michelle (Rodney)
Sparkman of Pikeville, KY; grandchildren, Shona E. Belcher, Shannon Justice, Samantha
Smith, Andrew (Virginia) Smith and Shellbie Sparkman; great grandchildren, Jessie Cochran,
Chandler Belcher, Benjamin Belcher, Liam Smith, Lucas Justice and Ava Justice and one great
great grandchild, Karson Cochran.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 27, 2014 at 11 AM at the Gulnare Freewill
Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the
Hanners Cemetery, Sycamore Road, Pikeville, KY with family and friends serving as
pallbearers. Visitation will be held after 6 PM Friday and Saturday at the Church. There will
be special services 7 PM Friday with Freewill Baptist Ministers and Saturday at 7 PM with Old
Regular Baptist Ministers.
Mike Mohammed "Bubby" Madlom Jr., 87, of Williamson, W.V.
passed away Saturday morning at the Williamson Memorial Hospital in
Williamson, W.V.
Mike was born Sept. 12, 1926, the son of the late Mohammed Ali
“Mike” and Ida Curnutte Madlom. He was preceded in death by his
wife Christy Picklesimer Hensley Madlom and his brother Emmet
Madlom.
Mike worked for the West Virginia Department of Highways and also was an agent for the
West Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control Administration. As a young man, he worked with his
father in the family’s business, City Restaurant. He also worked at the Williamson Fire
Department and was a Mingo County Sheriff’s Deputy. Mike was a member of the Williamson
Elk Lodge 1408 and American Legion Post 49 and was a 50-year member of the #101 Masonic
Lodge of Williamson, W.V. Mike was also a veteran of the United States Army and a member
of the East Williamson Baptist Church.
Mike was known for his sense of humor and his ready laugh. Like his mother, Mike had a love
of county politics and often worked on behalf of candidates he supported. He also enjoyed
calling bingo for a number of years at the American Legion and Elks Lodge.
As his health declined in the last several years, Mike was especially appreciative of the care he
was provided by his daughter Judy and his grandson Cody.
Mike is survived by his children, Judy Michelle Madlom of Williamson, W.V., Mike (Kim)
Madlom, of Senoia, Ga., Kim Madlom of Nashville, Tenn., and Gregory Hensley of
Williamson, W.V., Jeannie King of Riverdale, Ga., Rick (Sandy) Hensley of Steward Ill., and
Tammy Hadley of Dunbar, W.V. He is also survived by one sister, June Blevins of South
Williamson, Ky., one brother, Jimmy Madlom of Williamson, W.V., 10 grandchildren, 14
great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other loving family and friends.
A memorial service will be Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the East Williamson Baptist
Church with Estil ‘Breezy’ Bevins officiating.
Mary Lou Pinson Pauley, 84 of Forest Hills, Ky. passed away Monday
night, April 28, 2014 at the Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born June 2, 1929 in Pike County, Ky. the daughter of the late
Ben and Virgie Maynard Pinson. She was also preceded in death by her
husband, Frank Andrew Pauley; sister, Edith Ramey and brother, Lloyd
Maynard.
Mary Lou was a loving Mother and special person to many. She was a
blessing to all who knew her and never met a stranger. She met and greeted
many who entered the door at Wal-Mart and had a smile and a special word
for each one. She was a longtime and faithful member of the First Baptist
Church of Forest Hills
Survivors include her three sons, Dannie Cooper (Kathy) Pauley of Farmington Hills, MI,
David Bruce Pauley and Dwight Andrew (Nora) Pauley all of Forest Hills, KY; sister, Eunice
(Bill) Thornton of Montgomery, AL; grandsons, Dwight Andrew Pauley II of Dearborn
Heights, MI, Joseph Cooper Pauley of Farmington Heights, MI, Steven Adam Pauley and
David Bruce Pauley II both of Dearborn Heights, MI; great grandchildren, Kailey and Dylan
Pauley of a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 2, 2014 at 11 AM at the First Baptist Church of
Forest Hills with Bob Finch officiating. Burial will follow in the Pauley-Varney Cemetery,
Forest Hills, KY with her grandsons, Andrew, David, Steven and Joey Pauley and her nephews,
Derrick Pauley and Josh Martin serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held Thursday, May
1, 2014 from 2 - 9 PM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel.
Frances "Sugar" Hatfield, 66 of McCarr, KY. passed away Saturday,
May 3, 2014 at the Pikeville Medical Center surrounded by her loving
family.
She was born September 6, 1947 in Michigan the daughter of the late
Noah Newsome and Meldia Blackburn May. She was also preceded in
death by her son, Stephen Douglas Hatfield.
She was a longtime manager at Hardee's in South Williamson and a
homemaker. She loved to quilt and loved attending church when she
was able to. She most proud of being a loving wife, mother and
grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of fifty one and a half loving years, Billy Ray Hatfield of
McCarr, KY; daughters, Sherri Lynne Hatfield Coleman of McCarr, KY and Bobbi Jo (Kevin)
Lackey of North Carolina; grandchildren, Mark (Caitlin) Hatfield, Matthew Coleman, Caleb
Dakota Lackey and Zack Hall; great grandchild, Paityn Ray Hatfield and another great
grandchild on the way.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 11 AM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Norman officiating.
Visitation will be held from 6 - 9 PM Tuesday at the Funeral Home.

Alex Edmiston, 85 of Hatfield, Ky. went home to be with the Lord on
Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born June 17, 1928 at Stone, Ky. the son of the late Wayne
and Annie Marcum Edmiston. He was also preceded in death by his
loving wife, Betty Lou Lowe Edmiston and his brothers and sisters,
Pearly, Raymond, Harmon, Cal, Lawrence, Wayne Jr., Charlie, Ronnie
and Dewey Edmiston, Mary Edmiston Church, Mae Edmiston Hatfield
and Bobby Jean Edmiston Row.
Alex was a disabled coal miner and a former State Highway
Department worker. Alex gave his life to the Lord and was baptized on
February 26, 1964 by Ernest Cochran, Emitt Case and Claude Brown, becoming a member of
the Mary Elizabeth Old Regular Baptist Church. He was a member of the Church for 50 years.
Survivors include his sons, George (Judy) Edmiston and Alex B. "Benny" Edmiston of
Hafield, KY; daughters, Sandy Dingess, Pennie (David) Copley and Lawrence Dingess of
Hatfield, KY; grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Hatfield, Michael (Crystal) Dingess, Lacy
(Ashley) Edmiston, Daniel (Elizabeth) Dingess, Alex Jr. (Tammy) Edmiston and Jeremy
(Manisha) Edmiston; great grandchildren, Sean, Mikaela and Isabella Dingess, Alec Bevins,
Grayson, Reece and Colton Edmiston; sister-in-laws, Rebecca Jane (Denny) Marcum of
Hatfield, KY, Edith (Gary) Wellman of Lenore, WV and Bonnie Jean (Jim) Teeters of

Nellie M. Blankenship, 76 of Belfry, Ky. went home to be with
the Lord on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Pikeville medical Center
after a long battle with cancer.
Nellie was born April 25, 1938 in Aiken, SC the daughter of the
late Luther and Beatrice Prior Key. She was also preceded in death
by her husband, Charlie Blankenship; sisters, Jeanette Smith and
Judy Key and brother, Rayford Key. Nellie was a wonderful and
loving Mother, Granny, sister and aunt to many.
Survivors include her son, Charles "P-Nut" (Sheila)
Blankenship of Williamson, WV; daughters, Vickie Lockard of
Louisa, KY, Delinda (Micheal) Jones of Seiverville, TN, Patricia (Richard "Dough") Blackburn
of Goody, KY. and Shelia (Tracy) Schwerin of Belfry, KY; sisters, Linda (Henry) Wingard of
Aiken, SC and Unice Key of Augusta, GA; brothers, Leroy (Ann) Key of North Augusta, SC
and Albert Key of Grantitville, SC; grandsons, Steven Smith and Ryan (Samantha) Smith of
Sevierville, TN, Cody and Tyler Schwerin of Belfry, KY, Jackie and B.J. Lockard of Louisa,
