Edna Lillion Totten, 87 of Hatfield, Ky. passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014 at her home.
She was born November 26, 1926 at Ransom, Ky. the daughter of the late
James Nelson and Gracie George Dotson. She was also preceded in death by
her husband, Joseph Garfield Totten and several brothers and sisters.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, Edna Yvonne (Joe) Maynard of TN,
Joseph Garfield (Janie) Totten Jr. of Garrett, KY, Paulette (James) Runyon of
Rockhouse, KY, Jessie (Earl Dean) Taylor of Elkhorn City, KY, Tim
(Jennifer) Totten of Prestonsburg, KY, Patricia (Clayton) Luster of Pikeville,
KY, Michael (Wanda) Totten of Nicholasville, KY, Diana (Daren) May of Canada, KY, Sharon
(James Young) Totten of Canada, KY and Kenneth (Paula) Totten of Rockhouse, KY; step
children, Mary Sauder of White Plain, MD, Annette Harrison of WV and Thelma Jo Isom of
SC; brothers, Tennis Dotson and Ray Dotson both of TN and Paul Dotson of Michigan; sisters,
Geraldine Telferof Michigan and Okeyleen Comer of Cleveland, Ohio; 62 foster children and a
host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 12:30 PM at Smith Cemetery,
Sidney, Ky. with Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow with Ethan Taylor, Rocky Taylor,
Clinton Taylor, Michael May, James Thornsbury, James Lewis, James Howard and Tim Totten
serving as pallbearers.
Visitation is from 10 AM - 12:30 PM Tuesday at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home, Belfry.
Irene Chapman Slone, 85 of McVeigh, KY passed away Saturday night,
June 14, 2014 at the South Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital.
She was born December 6, 1928 at McAndrews, KY the daughter of
the late Ken and Lennie Blevins Stanley. She was also preceded in death
by her first husband, Noah Chapman and her second husband, Ronald Earl
Slone; sons, Gary, Eddie and David Chapman; daughter, Deborah McCoy;
brothers, Allen and Franklin Stanley and sisters, Bessie, Ethel and Ruby.
Irene was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. She was
a member of the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda (Rex) Parsons of MD; sons,
Jimmy Chapman of McVeigh, KY and Kennie (Brenda) Chapman of Pinsonfork, KY; sisters,
Myrtle Chapman and Reba Stanley both of Hardy, KY; sister-in-law, Loraine Stanley of
McCarr, KY: fifteen grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Thursday, June 19, 2014 in the R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home Chapel with Raymond Stanley, Larry Slone, Onis Smith and others officiating. Burial
will follow in the Walter Sullivan Cemetery, McVeigh, KY with Kennith Chapman, Frank
Sullivan, Frankie Sullivan, Terry Kenyon, Kenneth Ray and Jerry Harrison serving as pallbearers.

James Lloyd Coleman, 74 of Connelly Springs, NC formerly of Turkey
Creek, Ky. passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 at his residence.
He was born July 6, 1939 in Pike County, Ky. the son of the late Ira and
Beulah Thompson Coleman. He was also preceded in death by a stepson,
James Arthur Kennedy and two brothers, Buford and Herless Coleman.
He was retired from the United States Army after 18 years of service
and was of the Pentacostal faith.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Rose Lockard Coleman of Connelly
Springs, NC; children, Jimmy Dean Coleman and Deborah Lynn Salmons
both of Turkey Creek, KY, Johnnie L. Coleman, Victor L. Coleman, Amber
Dawn Coleman and Francis Lynn Coleman all of NC; step children, Dennis Kennedy of NC,
Robert Kennedy of FL and Roxanne Russ of KY; brothers, Lushion (Jackie) Coleman of TN,
Bill (Greta) Coleman of Belfry, KY, Jackie Lee (Paulette) Coleman of Huddy, KY and Hollis
(Becky) Coleman of Ohio; sister, Linda Howell of Hatfield, KY; eleven grandchildren, three
great grandchildren and several step grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 20, 2014 at 11 AM at the Turkey Creek Old
Regular Baptist Church with Hobert Hamilton and Richard Staton officiating. Burial will
follow in the Lockard-Reed Cemetery, Turkey Creek, Ky. with Jimmy and Johnnie Coleman,
Robert Kennedy, Justin and Jacob Coleman, Tyler Salmons, Duke and Eric Estridge and Jason
Ray serving as pallbearers. Belfry Chapter #141 will conduct military graveside services.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6 - 9 PM at Rogers Funeral Home and after 4 PM
Thursday at the Turkey Creek Old Regular Baptist Church with special services at 6 PM with

Charles Gregory Thacker, 60 of Lenoir, NC died Monday, June 16, 2014. Born in Mingo
County, WV on February 21, 1954, he was the son of the late John Thacker and Sadie Arnett
Thacker. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Faye O'Brian Thacker.
Charles loved the Lord and was a member of Muddy Creek Baptist Church.
Mr. Thacker is survived by his daughters, Sadie Correll and her husband, Wesley of
Morganton, NC and Pamela Vaughn and her husband, Stacey of Lenoir, NC; grandchildren,
Wesley Correll, Jeffrey Vaughn, Devon Vaughn, Harley Roberts, Chase Roberts and Brittany
Vaughn and sisters, Bonnie Cowan and Sandra Thacker both of Kentucky.
Visitation will be Friday, June 20, 2014 from 1 - 2 PM at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel
with graveside services at 2 PM at Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, KY with Daniel

Lozenna Mounts, 73 of Sidney, KY passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the South
Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital.
She was born October 5, 1940 in Pike County, KY the daughter of the late Dona and
Jeanette Crigger Smith. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Roger Clay Smith. She
was a retired school teacher with the Pike County Board of Education and a member of the Dix
Fork Old Regular Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Wendell Mounts of Sidney, KY; daughter, Leigh Smith of
Sidney, KY; son, James Todd Mounts of Sidney, KY; step children, Carol Westondorf of Ohio,
Donna (Lanny) Madden of SC, Mitchell Mounts of Freeburn, KY and Greg (Judy) Mounts of
Ohio; brother, Edward (Joy) Smith of Flatwoods, KY; sister, Patricia (Mike) Casey of
Knoxville, TN; special nieces, Peggy Joyce Smith of Flatwoods, KY and Tina Jeanette Bright
of Knoxville, TN; special aunt, Ruth Smith of Sidney, KY; special friends, Cecil and Vandra

Stanley, Walter Bogar, Tyler Bogar and Jamie Mounts serving as pallbearers. Honorary

Kathleen Johnson Damron, 88 of Turkey Creek, KY passed away
Monday, June 23, 2014 at the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY.
She was born July 13, 1925 in Williamson, WV the daughter of the
late Luther and Bessie Johnson. In addition to her parents she was also
preceded in death by her husband, John E. "Bo" Damron, SR.; one son,
Patrick Allen Damron and a granddaughter, Lauren S. Damron.
Kathleen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She also
attended the McVeigh Missionary Baptist Church, Huddy, KY.
Survivors include her sons; John E. Damron Jr. and his wife, Lahoma
of Turkey Creek, KY, Dennis L. Damron and his wife, Cathy of
Jacksonville, FL and Mark J. Damron of Huntington, WV; one daughter, Barbara and her
husband, P.C. Anderson of Bean Station, TN; two granddaughters, Vanessa Wondra of Winston
Salem, NC and Daniele N. Damron of Winfield, WV and six great granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 1 PM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. James Justice, pastor of the McVeigh Missionary Baptist Church
officiating. Burial will follow at the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, KY with men
of the church serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends 11 AM to 1 PM Thursday prior to the funeral.
Vada McCoy Elkins, 84 of Hatfield, KY passed away Saturday June 28, 2014 at Pikeville
Medical Center.
She was born February 5, 1930 at McCombs, KY, to the late Talbert and Cora Nunnery
McCoy. She is also preceded in death by her husband; Richard Thomas Elkins, and four
brothers; Luther McCoy, Talbert McCoy Jr., Henry McCoy and Thomas Burly McCoy.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Rockhouse Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by her children; Debra Collier of Hatfield, KY, Richard Larry (Georgia)
Elkins of Hatfield, KY, Betty (Marty) Francis of Hatfield, KY, and Brian Keith (Donna) Elkins
of Hatfield, KY, two sisters; Pearli Crider of Piso, KY, and Mable Maynard of Meta, KY, one
brother; Ernest McCoy of Martin County, KY, six grandchildren; Kimberly Collins, Angela
Chaney, Michael Francis, Matthew Francis, Kelly Ann Elkins and Jeremy Keith Elkins, five
great grandchildren; Ryan Collins, Benjamin Francis, Garet Francis, Viktor Francis and Vincent

Elkins Cemetery, Hatfield, KY, with Matthew Francis, Michael Francis, Jeremy Keith Elkins,
Ryan Collins, Logan Collins and Marty Francis serving as pallbearers.
