Barbara Ellen Elkins, 73, of Hatfield, KY, passed away Thursday August
28, 2014 at the Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born January 1, 1941 in Pike County, KY, to the late Joe and
Hazel Evans Hensley. She was also preceded in death by one son; Barry Kent
Elkins, two sisters; Ollie Hackney and Rebecca Bailey and one brother;
Richard Hensley.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Bells of Joy United Baptist
Church, Hatfield, KY.
She is survived by her husband; Phillip Dean Elkins, children; Shawn
(Brittany) Curry of Lenore, WV, Tawanya Coleman of Burning Fork, KY,
Francis Collins of Brushy, KY, and Bobbi (John) Aloi of NC., sisters; Dollie Harrison of
Hatfield, KY, and Betty Jo (Carl) Little of Sidney, KY., brothers; James Floyd (Shelby)
Hensley of Johnson County, KY, and Earsel Lee (Vicki) Hensley of Stone, KY., four
grandchildren; Shawn Curry Jr., Joshua Ryan Curry, Ammie Thacker and Jaden Micah
Childress, and three great grandchildren; Brooklyn Grace Thacker, Luke Westen Thacker and
Jaxon Tate Thacker, special nephews; Eunich "Buddy" (Geneva) Hackney, Matthew Little and
Brody Little, special nieces; Crystal Smith and Baylea Rae Smith.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM Monday September 1, 2014 at R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home with Dennis Smith, Darrell Combs and Ray Taylor officiating. Burial will follow
at Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Saturday and Sunday night at the funeral home with special
services both nights at 7 PM.
Betty Ruth Walker, 69 of Hardy, Ky. passed away Monday morning,
September 1, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family.
Betty was born January 9, 1945 in Williamson, WV the daughter of the
late Clyde and Hazel Hunt Hankins. She was also preceded in death by two
brothers, Tommy Hankins and Billy Hankins.
She was a former beautician and a bookkeeper for her husband's
business. She was a faithful member of the Bluesprings Freewill Baptist
Church.
Survivors include her loving husband, Donald Ray Walker of Hardy, KY;
two sons, J. J. Walker of Harold, KY and David Walker of Hardy, KY;
brother, Bobby Gene Hankins of Canada, KY; two sisters, Connie (Donnie) Wallen of Prichard,
WV and Ruby (Pete) Runyon of Pinsonfork, KY; two loving grandchildren, Mackenzie Walker
and Eli Walker both of Hardy, KY and a host of other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 1 PM in the R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home with Roger Bogar and Junior Church of the Bluesprings Freewill Baptist Church
officiating. Burial will follow in the Clyde Hankins Family Cemetery, Hardy, KY with David
Walker, Eli Walker, Jerry Farley, Paul Gene Hankins, Alden Walker, Blake Walker, Tyson
Crum and Gordon Walker serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Donnie Wallen,
Bobby Gene Hankins and Jerry Crum.
Visitation will be held Tuesday and Wednesday from 6 - 9 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel
with special services at 7 PM both nights.
Betty Jane Whitt, 87 of Lenore, WV passed away Sunday night, August
31, 2014 at Heartland of Portsmouth Nursing Home.
She was born February 25, 1927 at McCarr, Ky. the daughter of the late
George and Naomi DeHart. She was also preceded in death by a great
granddaughter, Gracie Stafford.
Betty was a loving wife, mother and mamaw.
She was a homemaker and a member of the United Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Millard Whitt of Lenore,
WV; sons, Larry (Mae) Whitt of Delbarton, WV and Roger (Mary) Whitt
of Lenore, WV; daughters, Nina Word and Dean Wells of Louisa, Ky.,
Sandra (Bob) Scott of Greenup, Ky., Daryl (Duke) Johnson of Myrtle Beach, SC and Deborah
(Mark) Barnett of Lucasville, Ohio; brother, Jimmy Dehart of Madison, WV; fifteen
grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. We would
like to give a special thanks to Heartland of Portsmouth and Hospice of Portsmouth, you all are
truly angels.

Funeral Home Chapel with Raymond Stanley, Mike Elswick and Shawn Dotson

Juanita Stanley, 59 of Burnwell, Ky. passed away Wednesday,
September 3, 2014 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
She was born January 18, 1955 in Williamson, WV the daughter of
Lorraine Varney Mahon of Ragland, WV and the late Amon Mahon. She
was also preceded in death by an infant child.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God.
Other than her Mother she is survived by her husband, Bert Travis
Stanley of Burnwell, KY; daughter, Brandy Melissa (Johnny) Meadows of
Pikeville, KY; brother, Amon (Sharon) Mahon Jr. of Lexington, KY;
sisters, Betty (Bobby) Massey of Ragland, WV, Tammy (Chris) Davis of Beckley, WV and
Pamela (Eddie) Evans of Ragland, WV; grandson, Christopher Meadows of Pikeville, KY and a
host of other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 1 PM in the R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Hisle and Mitchell Bias officiating. Burial will follow in
the Annie E. Young Cemetery, Pikeville, KY with Johnny Meadows, Christopher Meadows,
Maxx Mahon, Brandon Evans, Jamin Gilman and Justin Rabnott serving as pallbearers.

Late Thursday night, September 4, 2014, angels came to carry Glennis
Hager, 83 of Toler, Ky. into the Heavenly Realm, forever to be in the
presence of God and in the company of her loved ones who have made the
journey before her.
Glennis was born August 13, 1931 at Raccoon, Ky. the daughter of the
late Roosevelt and Verna Chapman Coleman. Also preceding her in death
was her beloved husband and best friend, Willie "Jake" Hager; her loving
daughter whom she missed terribly, Katherine Coleman; and infant son,
Gregory; son-in-law, Burgess "Sarge" Bowling; brothers, Ray and Philip
Coleman and sisters, Janice and Bobbi Jean Coleman.
She was a lifelong member of the Samaria Primitive Baptist Church of Ransom, Ky. She
loved being with her family, especially her cousins and friends from years gone by, sitting on
the porch and listening to bluegrass gospel music.
Glennis leaves behind to mourn her absence in their daily lives two daughters, Carol
Bowling of Ransom, KY and Jenny Hager of Toler, KY; son-in-law, Terry Coleman of
Georgetown, KY; six grandchildren that loved and cherished her, Isha Bowling of Lexington,
KY, Heather (Brian) Niemeyer of Georgetown, KY, Andy (Kimberly) Bowling of Cincinnati,
OH, Beth (Chris) Blackburn of Pinsonfork, KY, Caleb (Sabrina) Cochran of McCarr, KY and
Jacob Coleman of Georgetown, KY; eight great grandchildren who will certainly miss their
"Granny"; Jake and Molly Blackburn, Joshua Cochran, McKinley, Kate, Coleman and Sarah
Niemeyer; a step grandson, Cody Fannin; sisters, Vivian Tobey, Victoria Dotson, Lois Lowe
and JoAnn Golding all of Richmond, VA and Nancy Charles of Meta, KY; brothers, Keith
Coleman and Roy Coleman both of Richmond, Va and a host of other loving family and
friends.

Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Bobby Mayhorn and Mike Smith officiating. Burial will
follow in the Jake Hager Cemetery, Ransom, KY with her grandchildren serving as pallbearers.

Lola Nell Pacific, 82 of Belfry, Ky. went to be with the Lord early
Saturday morning, September 6, 2014 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital
from a battle with cancer.
Lola was born September 1, 1932 in Pike County, Ky. the daughter of the
late Trimble and Matilda Pinson Stanley. She was also preceded in death by
her loving husband, Adery Gene Pacific, five brothers and three sisters.
Lola was a homemaker and dearly loved all of her animals.
Survivors include three sisters, Mary Ann (Danny) McCoy of Belfry,
KY, Alice Faye (Clyde) Hoagland of Lorain, Ohio and Sarah Allred of
Painsville, Ohio; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who will
miss her passing.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 2 PM in the R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Hackney officiating. Burial will follow in the Pacific
Cemetery, Belfry, Ky. with Larry McCoy, Jordan McCoy, Charles McCoy, Wesley Hall, Mike
Watson, Sammy Thacker, Jamie Brown and Zach Baisden serving as pallbearers.

Roger Auxier, 68 of Burnwell, Ky. passed away Wednesday morning, September 10, 2014
at the Concord Health & Rehabilitation Center, Wheelersburg, Ohio.
He was born October 27, 1945 at Burnwell, Ky. the son of the late Claude and Euna Roberts
Auxier. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd Auxier and Mac Arthur Auxier.
Survivors include five sisters, Joyce Maynard of Turkey Creek, Ky., Doris Mounts, Linda
Stroud, and Brenda Vermillion all of Burnwell, Ky. and Charlotte Helmer of Beaver Dam, WI
and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 12, 2014 at 1 PM in the R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Scott Birchwell officiating. Burial will follow in the
McCoy, Cemetery, Burnwell, Ky. with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

services at 7 PM with Scott Birchwell.
