Lillian Lois Hackney, 88, of McAndrews, KY, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at her residence.
She was born January 18, 1927, at McAndrews, KY, the daughter of the late Charlie G. and
Myrdia May Helms. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles J. and Kenneth
Helms and two sisters, Clara Bow Blackburn and Brenda Joyce Gray.
Lillian was a homemaker and a member of the Little Hope Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include her loving husband, David Hackney of McAndrews, KY; sons, Ronald
David (Lori) Hackney of Florida, Donald Lee (Ginger) Hackney of Alabama, Randolph
"Randy" (Kathy) Hackney of McAndrews, KY and Ricky Lester Hackney of Texas; brothers,
Howard (Grace) Helms and Dennis (Karen) Helms of Louisville, KY; sister, Peggy Sue (Robert) Stanley of Louisville, KY; nine grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015, at 11 AM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Brothers Raymond Stanley and Mike Elswick officiating. Burial will
follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, KY, with David, Keaton, Ethan, Gary
and Larry Hackney, Brent Lee and Derek Thacker serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6 - 9 PM Thursday and Friday in the R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home Chapel. There will be special services both nights at 7 PM with Primitive Baptist Ministers officiating.

Gladys Marie Hatfield, age 96, of Ransom, KY, passed away peacefully
on February 6, 2015, at her home.
She was born on July 21, 1918, on Dials Branch, Ransom, KY, the
daughter of the late Jordan and Ira Melinda Hager. On April 27, 1937,
Gladys was happily married to the late James Lucas "Luke" Hatfield, a union, which lasted 44 years.
A devoted mother, Gladys also held various career positions in her life,
including assisting her husband at the Ransom, KY Post Office for 40
years. She enjoyed various sales opportunities, owned and operated Hatfield's Boutique in Matewan, WV and enjoyed many public service opportunities. Gladys was an active member of the community and loved making a difference in people's lives. She was a strong-minded lady who took wonderful care of her family. Gladys enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, cooking and especially music. She attended Freewill Baptist
Church and loved singing gospel songs. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her loving
family. "Granny Gladys" will be remembered most for her beautiful smile, her spirit of adventure, and her strength of character.
Gladys is survived by her six children, Ruth Marie Hatfield Estep (late Burl Estep) of Ransom, KY, Bobby Lee Hatfield (Linda Hackney) of Hardy, KY, Lucas Hatfield Jr. (Brenda
Scott) of Sidney, KY, Billy Joe Hatfield (Dorothy Wilson) of Ransom, KY, Danny Ray Hatfield
(Stephanie Trover) of Paducah, KY and Ronald Dale Hatfield (Betty Bolen) of Ransom, KY; 15
grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; a number of other relatives
and close friends. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Nellie Hager Boyer, Anna Hager
Hubbard, Hannah Hager Estep and Claudia Hager Dotson Stafford and five brothers, Phillip
Hager, Dewey Hager, Frank Hager, Ransom Hager and Bill Hager.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, February 8, 2015, beginning at 2 PM at R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home Chapel with James Justice of McVeigh Missionary Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will follow at the Bluesprings Hatfield family Cemetery, Ransom, KY, with grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 7, 2015, after 6 PM at the funeral home.

Helen Ray, 65, of McAndrews, KY, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015, in the Tug
Valley Appalachian Regional Medical Center.
She was born February 2, 1950, at Huddy, KY, the daughter of the late Annie May. She was
also preceded in death by one grandchild. Helen was a former cook at Hardee's restaurant and a
member of the Ajax Church of our Lord Jesus Christ, Lenore, WV.
Survivors include her daughters, Ettice (Douglas) Francis of McAndrews, KY, and Geri Williamson of Pinsonfork, KY; one son, Adam (Stephanie) Ray of McAndrews, KY; two brothers,
Kenneth May of Brunswick, GA, and Gregory May of Huntington, WV; nine grandchildren and
a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 14, 2015, at 1 PM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Josh Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the May Family Cemetery,
Sidney, KY, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6 - 9 PM Friday in the funeral home chapel.

Yvonne L. Stanley 67, of Turkey Creek, KY, passed away Tuesday February 17, 2015, at the Appalachian Regional Hospital.
She was born June 23, 1947, at Turkey Creek, KY, to the late Gratt and Eva Sartin Lowe.
She is also preceded in death by one son, Nathaniel Gratt Stanley and one sister, Dollie Mae Lowe.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Turkey Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, James A. Stanley of Turkey Creek, KY; one daughter, Eva
M. Charles of Burnwell, KY; three step children, Joseph Stanley of Williamson, WV, Richard
(Mary) Stanley of Rawl, WV, and Renna Bowman of Stone, KY; one brother, Crintous W.
(Nell) Lowe of Sycamore, KY; three grandchildren, Jasmine Newsome of Lenore, WV, Elisha
G. Callaway of Aflex, KY, and Heaven Leigh Charles of Burnwell, KY; three great
grandhildren, Rylan Newsome, Bryleigh Newsome and Kasmira Newsome all of Lenore, WV;
four step grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Sunday, February 22, 2015, at the Turkey
Creek Freewill Baptist Church with Mikey Smith and Ed May officiating. Burial will follow at
Lowe Family Cemetery, Turkey Creek, KY, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday and Saturday night at the funeral home with special services both nights at 7 PM.

Elsie Mayhorn McCoy, 90 of Ransom, KY, went to be with the Lord,
Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at her residence.
She lived out her last days as she did her life, in her home with loved
ones at her bedside. She was born April 16, 1924, at Freeburn, KY, the
daughter of the late Melvin and Elizabeth Eldridge Mayhorn. She is also
preceded in death by her husband, Acie McCoy and an infant daughter,
Barbara Jean McCoy. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of
the Blackberry Interdenominational Church, Ransom, KY.
She is survived by two sons, James Acie McCoy of Harrodsburg, KY,
and Ellis (Diana) McCoy of Ransom, KY; one daughter, Shirley (Fred) Holbrook of Stanford,
KY; brothers, Ralph Mayhorn of Freeburn, KY, and Marcus (Pat) Mayhorn of Hartley, DE, sister, Faye Hatfield of Wilmington, DE; six grandchildren, Karen (Paul) Allen of Lancaster, KY,
Nathan (Renee) McCoy of Hazel, KY, Mark (Jennifer) McCoy of Richmond, KY, Buffeny (Eric) Kelly of Fort Mills, SC, Cassie (Mitchell) Scott of Kingsport, TN, and Heather (Jonathan) Hutchings of Knoxville, TN; fourteen great grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends.
Due to the inclement weather, the family will have a private burial at the Dotson Family
Cemetery, Ransom, KY. On Sunday, April 19, 2015, we will have a memorial service to honor
the life of our mother and grandmother.

Gary J. Belford, 65 of Belfry, KY, passed away Tuesday, February 24,
2015, at the Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born April 27, 1949, in Waynesburg, PA, the son of the late
Thomas John and Margaret Daugherty Belford. He was also preceded in
death by his brothers, Bill, D.A. and Tom Belford; his sister, Linda Belford;
mother and father-in-law, John and Marie Pecco Ball and his brother-in-laws,
Lonnie Belford and Robert Ball.
He worked for the N. & S. Railroad for 28 years. He loved kidding his sister-in-laws about who was his favorite one and each time he saw one of them he would change his favorite to that one. He loved to act a fool with all the
kids and they did to him, also. It was his life to be with them on Sunday. He was a member of
the Sharondale Church of Christ and he loved to go to church and to play BINGO.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Ann Ball Belford of Belfry, KY; three sisters, Ruth Belford of Waynesburg, PA, Coleen (Tim) Robertson of Brunswick, Ohio and Serena Chapman of
Ohio; one brother, Mark Belford of Brunswick, Ohio; his Ball family, John Jr. (Linda) Ball, Jim
(Carla) Ball and Tom (Claudette) Ball all of Belfry, KY, Sam (Kay) Ball of Matewan, WV, Beatrice Ball, Lois Ball and Margaret Hatfield all of Belfry, KY; several nieces and nephews from
both the Belford and Ball families whom he loved and enjoyed and many special family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 1, 2015, at 1 PM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home Chapel with Bob Werntz officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery, Belfry,
KY, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Friends may gather with the family at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home from 3 - 9 PM Friday and
anytime Saturday. They will have a special singing service Saturday night at 7 PM.

Dennis Ray Hager, 65 of Belfry, KY, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015, at his home.
He was born September 23, 1949, at Sidney, KY, the son of the late Bailey and Lola Hinkle Hager.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Pearly Jane Hager and a brother, G. B. Hager.
Dennis formerly worked for the highway department and was a member of the Big Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Marie Brown Hager of Belfry, KY; sister, Christine (Ralph)
Williamson of Rockhouse Fork, Sidney, KY; brother, Basil Hager of Johns Creek, KY; brotherin-law, Jamie Brown of Belfry, KY; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 11 AM, Sunday, March 8, 2015, at the Big Creek Freewill
Baptist Church with Gary Blackburn officiating. Burial will take place in the Smith Cemetery,

Mark Alan Ray, 53, of Hardy, KY, passed away surrounded by
FAMILY and loved ones on March 12, 2015 at ARH hospital in South Williamson, KY.
Mark was born August 12, 1961, in Williamson, WV. Mark was the
son of Harles and Janice Ray of Hardy, KY. He is preceded in death
by his maternal grandparents, Bud and Jeanette Triplett and paternal
grandparents, Enois and Elmay Ray.
Mark married the love of his life, "his Pam Bo", on November 27,
1981, and was later blessed with his son and best friend Mark Alan
Ray II on October 24, 1983. Mark was saved and baptized at the Belfry United Methodist Church in 1984. He was the head drummer in the Belfry Band while in high school and graduated from BHS in 1979 and attended Bluesprings Freewill Baptist Church.
Mark Ray had a love for life like no other. Everybody he came in contact with loved Mark.
He was one of a kind.
Mark is survived by his parents, Janice and Harles Ray, the love of his life Pam, son Mark
and his fiancé' Christina Vaughn. One brother, Michael (Tammy) Ray, sisters and brother in
laws, who he thought of more as sisters and brothers, include, Cuba (James) Varney, Diane
(Ronnie) Hall, Rosletta (Chuck) Maynard, Carolyn (Ronnie) Williams, Mildred (Gary) Scott,
Christine (Johnny) Anderson, Michael, Leo and Mark Thacker and a host of nieces, nephews,
great nieces and great nephews. "Those children" held a very special place in Mark's heart and
loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, March 14, 2015, at R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home with Larry Hubbard and Roger Bogar officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View
Memory Gardens, Huddy, KY, with Ryan Thacker, Jeremy Justice, Joby Howard, Mitchell
Maynard, Brian Norman and Brad Stanley serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be
Jack Hubbard, Greg Hatfield, Gary Shelton and Danny Larry Smith.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday night at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with special services at 7 PM.
