Larry Roger Ooten, 66, of Stone, Ky, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born August 9, 1948, at Stone, KY, the son of the late Robert
Ooten Jr. and Gladys Ball Ooten. He was also preceded in death by two
brothers, Robert Wilson Ooten and Jimmy Ooten and a brother-in-law, Earsel "Bunk" May.
Larry was a retired school teacher, having taught at Washington County
High School, Springfield, KY, and Mackville Elementary School. He held
various positions throughout the educational system. He was also a floral
designer and artist. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Williamson, WV and had attended the Stone United Methodist Church for several years also.
Survivors include his sister, Margaret O. May of Stone, KY; nieces, Rebecca (Jim) Garrison
of Corbin, KY, Nancy May of Beckley, WV, Rhonda Sue May of Maryville, TN, Margaret Elizabeth (Brandon) Hall of Stone, KY and Djuna Alderuccio of Naples, FL; great nieces and nephews, Patricia, Rachel, Kayla, Sarah Elizabeth, Joseph, Kelly, Autumn, Branison, Larry Charles,
Little B, Mason, Molly and Maddie; special Springfield friends, Rudy and Betty Jane Ball of
Springfield, KY and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 7, 2015, at 2 PM at the Stone United Methodist
Church with Pastor Elizabeth Blanton and Father Nick England officiating. Entombment will
follow in Mountain View Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Huddy, KY. Pallbearers will be Jim
Garrison, Hunter Garrison, Brandon Hall, Joseph Lunsford, Larry Moon, Christopher Cox and
Kelly May. Honorary pallbearers are Tony Hughes, Rudy Ball, Rick Blankenship, Gary Thacker, Brian Scott, Freddie Keith McCoy and Little Brandon Hall.
Visitation will be held after 6 PM Saturday, June 6, 2015, at the Stone United Methodist
Church with special services at 7 PM.
Donnie Ray "Peanut" Allen, 65, of Kimper, Ky. passed away Sunday, June 7, 2015, at the
Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born January 28, 1950, in Williamson, WV the son of the late Robert Jackson and
Dolly Elizabeth Belcher Allen. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Marie Allen; brother, Teddy Bruce Allen; close brother-in-law, Freddie Chapman; nephew, Brian Allen;
great niece, Brittani Ann Allen and father-in-law, Oscar Blankenship.
He was a retired machinist from General Motors and a member of the Meathouse Freewill Baptist Church, Kimper, KY.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Marie Blankenship Allen of Kimper, KY; son, Donnie Ray
(Kim) Allen Jr. of Kimper, KY; brothers and sisters, Bob (Kathy) Allen of Defiance, OH, Bonnie (Ronnie) Tracy of Greenup County, KY, Gary David (Connie) Allen of Belleville, MI, Patricia "Mickey" (Thomas) Blackburn of Williamson, WV, Kenny Allen of Pinsonfork, KY,

Susanne Adkins Higgins, 88, of Toler, KY, passed away Friday, June 12, 2015, at the Concord Health and Rehabilitation Center in Wheelersburg, OH.
Susanne was born March 19, 1927, the daughter of the late Basil
and Martha Napier Adkins. Susanne was also preceded in death by
her husband, George Clinton Higgins.
Susanne was a member of the Forest Hills Baptist Church and
worked as a postmaster for the U. S. Postal Service for many years.
She is survived by her two sons, Greg C. (Elaine) Higgins of
Portsmouth, OH and Eddie (Cathy) Higgins of Toler, KY. She also
leaves behind her grandchildren, Shad Whitt of Portsmouth, OH, Nikki (Phillip) Hammond of
Wheelersburg, OH and Bradley C. (Leah) Higgins of Portsmouth, OH as well as step grandsons, Barry and Corey Hatfield. She is also survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law,
Bert and Charlotte Higgins and ten great-grandchildren along with a host of other loving family
and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 14, 2015, at R. E Rogers Funeral Home beginning at 1 PM with James Justice officiating. Burial will follow at the Mountain View Memory
Gardens, Huddy, KY, with Shad Whitt, Bradley Higgins, Phillip Hammond, Barry Hatfield,
Corey Hatfield and Gabriel Whitt serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held Saturday night after 6 PM at the funeral home chapel.
Jeffery Neal Hatfield, 51, of Huddy, KY, passed away Saturday, June 13,
2015, at Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington, KY. He was born December
11, 1963, at Williamson, WV the son of the late Joe Edward and Wilma Nell
McCoy Hatfield. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Albert Keesee.
Jeff was a CPA, member of the Pikeville Rotary Club, Past President of
the Pike County Chamber of Commerce, an Alumnus of the University of
Kentucky and an avid UK fan and cruiser. He was a faithful member of the
Stone United Methodist Church, where he blessed his congregation with his beautiful voice.
Survivors include his loving wife, Gina Keesee Hatfield of Huddy, KY; sister, Shiela Ann
Hatfield Boardman of Frankfort, KY; mother-in-law, Linda Keesee of Belfry, KY; sister-inlaw, Tara (Josh) O'Brien of Clinton, Montana; nephew, Aedan O'Brien and niece, Ashling
O'Brien of Clinton, Montana; his special friends, Treva Coleman of Shelbyville, KY, Jimmy
Shipp of Lexington, KY, Lonnie Ellis of South Williamson, KY and Tammy West of Stone,
KY and a host of other loving family and friends.
There will be a private graveside service.

Brenda Carol Rose, 66, of McVeigh, KY, passed away Tuesday, June
16, 2015, at the Tug Valley Regional Medical Center, South Williamson, KY.
She was born September 18, 1948, at McAndrews, KY, the daughter
of the late Rev. Edgar and Mary Ellen Stump West. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Jackson Rose; sister, Linda
Chapman and brother, Ronald West.
Brenda was a homemaker and a member of the Octavia Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Randall (Tammy) West of Pinsonfork,
KY, Paul (Jean) Rose of Ohio and William Edgar Rose of Pinsonfork, KY; daughter, Shannon
(Manuel) Ball of Goodman, WV; sisters, Emilye Ball of Morehead, KY, Joyce Coleman of
South Carolina, Angela West of Pinsonfork, KY and Melissa Vandyke of Virginia; brothers,
Billy West of Belfry, KY, Charles West, Donald West and Russell West all of Pinsonfork, KY
and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Ernestine "Ernie" "Teen" Hurley Fields, 86 of Pelion, SC formerly of Cutler Ridge, FL
passed away June 21, 2915, at her residence.
She was born in McVeigh, KY to the late Emory and Zennie Justice Hurley.
She was retired from Jackson South Hospital in South Miami, FL. She was a loving wife for
69 years and devoted mother and grandmother to 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 4 sisters. She is survived by her husband, Oren
Fields, daughters, Brenda Fields Earl and Patty Fields Oliver (Danny) and a son, Ed Fields
(Emily), sister, Peggy Hurley Ingle and brothers, Carroll and James Hurley.
Viewing will be 6 - 8 PM Monday, June 22, 2015, at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington,
SC, then at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry, KY from 11 AM - 1 PM Wednesday, June 24, 2015.

Dollie Blackburn Deskins, 89, of Sidney, Kentucky went
home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at the
Parkview Nursing Home in Pikeville, Kentucky.
She was born April 16, 1926, at Canada, Kentucky the
daughter of the late James Ballard and Mazie Blackburn.
She was a member of the Belfry Freewill Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 58 years, Ermal
Deskins; a daughter-in-law, Linda Deskins and a granddaughter,
Alexis Grace Deskins.
Surviving are her three children, Jackie (Donna) Deskins of
Pinsonfork, KY, Janet (Rod) Varney of Forest Hills, KY and Jerry Deskins of Sidney, KY. She
was a loving grandmother to nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and three great
great grandchildren. Also surviving are five brothers and sisters, Arminda Stanley of Sunbury,
Ohio, Wayne (Faye) Blackburn of Sidney, KY, Paris (Phyllis) Blackburn of Glenia, Ohio, Jean
(Ralph) Williamson of Fallston, Maryland and Yvonne (Kenneth) Williamson of Brownstown,
Michigan. Left to mourn her passing is a host of extended family and friends.
Dollie loved her church family and although she had been physically unable to attend for
several years, she enjoyed the cards they sent her and the visits by Brother Buddy and Sister
Gaye Kendrick. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

special services at 7 PM with Roger Mullins officiating.

Joyce Faye (McCoy) Keene, 66, of Burnwell, KY, went home to be
with the Lord on Thursday, June 25, 2015.
She was born June 16, 1949, at Williamson, WV the daughter of the
late Major and Nola Ethel (Thompson) McCoy. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Audrey Elizabeth
Keene; sisters, Annie McCoy, Polly Martin, Patsy Maynard and Mary
Elizabeth Dillon and three infant brothers.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Burnwell Gospel Revelation Tabernacle Church.
Survivors include her loving husband, James Ray Keene; sisters,
Thelma (Tom) McCoy of Burnwell, KY, Helen Marcum and the late Bill Marcum of Aflex, KY
and Virginia Roberts and the late J.P. Roberts of Columbus, Ohio; brothers, James Ralph
McCoy of Burnwell, KY, Ronnie McCoy of Burnwell, KY, Charles Delbert and Patsy McCoy
and the late Wanda Ruth McCoy of Burnwell, KY and John Victor and Regina McCoy of
Burnwell, KY. A host of nieces and nephews that she was like a second Mother and Godmother to and a host of family and friends.

Thompson-Moore Cemetery, Burnwell, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

both nights at 7 PM.
