Geraldine Rose Clevenger, 75, of Sidney, KY, went home to be with
the Lord on August 9, 2015 at the Pikeville Medical Center.
Geraldine was born on August 9, 1940, to the late Hardy and Gladys
Chapman Rose. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by
her husband, Donald Lee Clevenger, one son, Donald Franklin Clevenger, her granddaughter, Cathy Clevenger, two brothers, Bud and Andrew
Rose as well as two sisters, Tootsey "Lucille" Golley and Loraine Justice.
Geraldine was a homemaker and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Albon (Marcella) Clevenger of Pikeville,
KY, two daughters, Denita (Jack) Thacker of Sidney, KY and Jennifer Clevenger of Lebanon,
KY. She is also survived by her brothers, Paul (Lois) Derossett of Canada, KY, Lonnie (Phyllis)
Rose of Center, KY, Joseph (Katherine) Rose of Center, KY, Johnny (Dianne) Rose of Ypsilanti, MI, William (Brenda) Rose of Greensburg, KY, Floyd Rose of Canada, KY, Oscar Rose of
Sevierville, TN, Hardy (Blicela) Rose of Greensburg, KY and sisters, Jacklene Henson of
Nicholasville, KY, Kathy (Hassell) Anderson of Kimper, KY and Betsy (Clyde) James of Canada, KY. Geraldine also leaves behind nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a host
of loving nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 13, 2015, beginning at 11 AM at R.E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel, with Gary Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow at the Rose Garden Cemetery, Canada, KY with Ryan Thacker, Steven Thacker, James Thacker, John Thacker,
Joseph Thacker, Jordan Rowland, Brent Amburgey and Eric May serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 PM Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at the funeral home, with
special services lead by Darren May at 7 PM.
Peirce E. Whitt, 68, of Williamson, WV passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015, at his daughter's house in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.
He was born November 12, 1946, at Matewan, WV, the son of the late John Whitt Jr. and
Mary Jane Hatfield Whitt who were from Matewan, WV. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Mike Whitt.
Peirce was the former Director of the Williamson Park Board; he worked for the Mingo
County B.O.E. and the City of Williamson for 37 years; he was the co-owner of Starters Restaurant for 21 years; a member of the Elks Lodge; Moose Lodge; a veteran of the U.S. Army and of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Kathe Harvit Whitt of Williamson, WV; his loving
daughter, Kelly Whitt Deluca and her husband, Dave Deluca of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; a sister, Debbie Whitt Justice of Ripley, WV; brother, Mark Whitt of Matewan, WV; his loving
grandchildren, Zoe Grace Deluca and Ella Rose Deluca of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; his special
pets that he loved so dearly, Ziggy Whitt and Sweet Pea and a host of nieces, nephews, family
and friends who will miss him greatly.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 13, 2015, at 1 PM in the Williamson Fieldhouse with Ronnie Matney officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Maher, WV. Pallbearers will be Dave King, Dave Hurley, Michael Brewster, Mike
Vanhorn, C. J. Sammons, Danny Henry, Mark Steven Whitt, Larry Jack New, Dave Deluca and
Michael John Whitt. Honorary pallbearers are Sam Olive, Jim Whitt, Jimmy Chris Whitt, Ronnie Whitt, Chris Ooten, Steve Wilson, Darrin McCormick, John Mark Hubbard and Truman
Chafin. Belfry Chapter #141 D.A.V. will conduct Military Graveside service.

Ralph David Chapman, 45, of Duncanville, AL formerly of Pike County, KY passed away Monday, August 10, 2015 at his home suddenly.
He was born March 3, 1970 in Williamson, WV the son of Ralph and Francine Stanley
Chapman of Pinsonfork, KY. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Hazel
Chapman and Mitchell and Anne Stanley and one uncle, Dan Chapman.
He was a mine foreman for a coal mine in Alabama.
Other than his parents he is survived by his wife, Stacy Michelle Williamson Chapman; his
children, David Austin Chapman and Dakota Michelle Lynn Chapman both of Alabama, Tiffany Chapman and Tasha Chapman both of Williamson, WV; brother, Shawn (Dawn) Chapman of Virginia; sister-in-law, Megan (Kenny) Baisden of Ragland, WV; brother-in-law, K. J. Williamson of Sidney, KY; mother and father-in-law, Catty and Woody Williamson of Sidney, KY;
four nephews, one niece and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 15, 2015, at 11 AM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the

Ruby Jean Oliver McCoy, 83, of Paris, KY, formally of McCarr, KY,
died at St Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY on August 17, 2015, after a short illness.
She was born in Ransom, KY on October 31, 1931. She was the
daughter of the late John and Martha Oliver.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lucas McCoy; brother,
Everette Oliver and sisters, Evelyn Dotson, Edith Vipperman, Ethel Morris and Pauline Farley.
She is survived by her daughter Regina McCoy Rutledge, son- in- law
Greg Rutledge, of Paris, KY, and four grandchildren; Victoria Grace
Rutledge Smith, her husband Elliott Smith, of Georgetown KY, Stephen Lucas Rutledge of
Paris KY, Lindsey Michelle Rutledge and Matthew Robert Rutledge both of Englewood, Col.;
sisters, Josephine Varney of Columbus, GA and Woodra Honaker of Middletown, Ohio and one
brother, John T. Oliver of McMinnville, TN. A special thanks to her loving caregivers, Kelli,
Megan, Kenni, Christie and Beverly.
Ruby was a loving and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She
was also a devoted teacher for the Pike County School System for 42 years. Ruby was a member of the Blue Springs Freewill Baptist Church in Ransom, KY.
The service will be conducted by Jeremy Hatfield, at the Blue Springs Freewill Baptist Church
on Thursday, August 20 at 11:00 am.
Visitation is scheduled on Wednesday, August 19 from 6-9 pm, at Rogers Funeral Home, Belfry, KY.

Raymond Smith, 91, of Canada, KY, passed away Monday, August 17,
2015, at the Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born October 23, 1923, at Canada, KY the son of the late Tom
and Elizabeth Grace Stanley Smith. He was also preceded in death by his
first wife, Clustina Smith, his second wife, Maudie Smith and one son, Larry Kent Smith.
He was a retired coal miner and a faithful member and moderator for 47
years at the Lonesome Dove Old Regular Baptist Church.
Survivors include his children, Freda Mae Stanley of Russell Springs,
KY, Clarence "Bud" (Janita) Smith of Canada, KY, Kaye (David)
Maynard of Pikeville, KY, Roberta Coleman of Canada, KY, Rhonda (Jack) Johnson of Johns
Creek, KY, Madonna Grace (Keith) McKinney of Harold, KY and Thomas Chris (Crystal)
Smith of Turkey Creek, KY; eighteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; seven great
great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

James Ken Stanley, 74, of Stratton Fork, Canada, KY went home to be with the Lord on
Monday, August 17, 2015, at the Tug Valley Regional Medical Center.
He was born November 27, 1940 at Sidney, KY the son of the late Kenner and Grace Blackburn Stanley. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Darrell Eddie Stanley and Conal Stanley.
He was a retired coal miner, a member of the UMWA Local Union 1440 and Belfry Freewill Baptist Church.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 48 years, Patty Smith Stanley; three daughters, Debbie
Gannon (Jerry) Bevins of McCarr, KY, Mary Wallace of Canada, KY and Pam Estepp Martin
of White Pine, TN; three sisters, Lois (Greg) Walker of Myrtle Beach, SC, Barbara (Joe) Adkins of Pikeville, KY and Brenda (Billy) Pinson of Sidney, KY; grandchildren, James Estepp,
Zachary Wallace, Brandi Stanley, Kerigan Estepp and Krislyn Stanley; great granddaughter,
Kailie Stanley and a host of other family and friends.

Harrison Davis Varney, 90, of Forest Hills, KY, passed away
Wednesday August 19, 2015, at Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born November 4, 1924, at Forest Hills, KY, to the late
John and Merica Stanley Varney. He is also preceded in death by
his wife Joyce Estelle Stanley Varney; son, Kevin Varney, sisters,
Gladys Wellman and Nancy Laudermilk and brothers, Oscar Varney and Earl Varney.
He was a former partner of Williamson Supply Company, a
Kentucky Colonel, former Member and Deacon of Stone Baptist
Church, a member of Belfry Freewill Baptist Church and a veteran
of the US Army serving in WW II.
He is survived by two sons, Steven D. Varney of Forest Hills, KY and Brian K. Varney of
Lexington, KY. One brother, Clifford Varney of Forest Hills, KY, special friend, Wilma Cassell
of Forest Hills, KY, and several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM Sunday August 23, 2015, at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Donald Varney and Chris Varney officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain
View Memory Gardens, Huddy, KY, with Okey Porter, Earl Varney Jr., Todd Cassell, Mike
Kline, Mike Stanley and Charlie Frazier serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be
men of the Belfry Freewill Baptist Church.
