Isaiah Matthew May went home to be with his heavenly father on July 17, 2016 at Pikeville
Medical Center.
Isaiah was the infant son of Matthew Shawn and Jessica Michelle May of Sidney, KY. He is also survived by his paternal grandparents, Woodie and Patricia May of Sidney, KY; maternal
grandmother, Norma Blankenship of Kimper, KY; uncles, Chris May of Canada, KY, Eric and
Danny Gowen, both of Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Brian Allen and his aunt, Brittani Allen.
Visitation will be held after 11 AM Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home, Belfry. Graveside services will follow at 1 PM in the Family Cemetery, Sidney, KY,
with Terry Justice officiating.
Earnest Ray Vermillion, 80, of Williamson, WV, passed away Monday July 25, 2016, at his
residence.
He was born April 8, 1936, at Nolan, WV, to the late Sherman and Nettie Hargis Vermillion.
He is also preceded in death by one brother, Elmer Vermillion.
He was a retired machinist and a veteran of the U. S, Navy.
He is survived by two sisters, Pauline Browning of Williamson, WV, and Doris Towles of
Ypsilanti, MI. One brother, Hubert Vermillion of Georgetown, KY, and a host of loving family
and friends.
Per his request, there will be no services.
Geraldine Smith, 77, of Pinsonfork, KY, passed away Thursday night, July 28, 2016, at the
Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born May 30, 1939, at Wood, Kentucky the daughter of the late James Buck and
Flora Collins Sellards. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Smith and two
brothers, Troy Sellards and Junior Sellards.
Geraldine was a homemaker and a member of the Pinsonfork Church of God.
Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Ann (Pemothea) Chapman of Bucyrus, Ohio; five
sons, James "Smitty" Smith of Pinsonfork, KY, Onis Ricky (Rodjetta) Smith of Paintsville, KY,
Benny "Shade" (Shelia) Smith of Canada, KY, Donald Ray (Sherrie) Smith of Pinsonfork, KY
and Michael (Susan) Smith of Pinsonfork, KY; four sisters, Ruby Chapman of Turkey Creek,
KY, Madeline Spillman of Columbus, Ohio, Bobbie Lee Smith of McVeigh, KY and Carol
Coleman of Lebanon, VA; eighteen grandchildren; host of great grandchildren; two special
great grandchildren, Dillon and Dustin Smith and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 31, 2016, at 11 AM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home Chapel with Rick Hisle officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery,
Pinsonfork, KY, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6 - 9 PM Saturday, July 30, 2016, at the funeral home chapel.
Beloved Husband, Father, Son, Poppy and proud community leader Larry
Ray Barnett, 61, of South Williamson, KY, passed away suddenly Monday,
August 1, 2016, due to complications following surgery at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, KY, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Larry was born June 10, 1955, in Mount Sterling, KY the son of Billy Ray
and Marjorie Lewman Barnett of Mount Sterling, KY. He is preceded in death
by both his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Larry proudly served the community for 28 years as a pharmacist and owner
of Family Pharmacy of South Williamson, KY. His journey began after graduating Montgomery County High School in 1973. From there he attended the
University Of Kentucky School Of Pharmacy where he graduated in 1978. He began his lifelong career as a pharmacist at the Appalachian Regional Hospital at Man, WV, where he
worked until 1984. In 1984, he transferred to the South Williamson, KY Appalachian Regional
Hospital where he accepted the position of Chief Pharmacist. In 1988, he moved on from the
hospital and opened his own pharmacy, Family Pharmacy, in South Williamson, KY. Larry
owned and operated Family Pharmacy until January of 2016, when he retired. Larry enjoyed the
fruits of his retirement at his home on Douglas Lake in Tennessee. He enjoyed traveling and
was an avid fisherman but most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.
His memory is left to be cherished by his wife, Benita Barnett of South Williamson, KY; his
children, Michelle (George) Cox of Red Jacket, WV, Bradley Ray (Gayle) Barnett of Canada,
KY, Heather (Josh) Leonard of South Williamson, KY, Gary (Kristin) Barnett of South Williamson, KY and Reba Nicole Barnett of the home. He also leaves behind his grandchildren and
the lights of his life, Olivia Rayann Cox, Kaden Thomas Cox, Gabriel Jonathan Leonard, Grayson Joshua Leonard, Lilla Claire Barnett and Ella Grace Barnett. He is survived by his loving
parents, Billy Ray and Marjorie Barnett; a brother Donnie (Hope) Barnett of Cincinnai, Ohio; a
sister, Vicki (Rick) Berry of Winchester, KY; his second family at Family Pharmacy and a host
of loving nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 5, 2016, beginning at 1 PM at the First Baptist
Church of Belfry with Joey Kennedy officiating. Entombment will follow at the Mountain View
Memory Gardens, Huddy, KY, with Josh Leonard, George Cox, Bob Kennedy, Alex Anderson,
Kevin Bartram and Donnie Barnett serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6-9 PM at the church.
Laura Rose Craft, 58, of Bulan, KY, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at her residence.
Laura was born December 6, 1957, in Williamson, WV, the daughter of the late Homer and
Novella Hall Baisden. Laura was also preceded in death by her brother, Homer Mitchell
Baisden. Laura was a homemaker and a member of the Gospel Light Baptist Church, Hazard,
KY.
Laura is survived by her husband; Steve Craft of Bulan, KY; one son, Harry (Misty) Deskins
of Hatfield, KY; one daughter, Crystal McCoy of Stone, KY. She is also survived by two
grandchildren; Dawson Isom and Holly Isom; two sisters, Connie (the late Kevin) Coley of Belfry, KY, and Martha Marcum of Knoxville, TN; four brothers, Carlie Baisden of Belfry, KY,
Edward Baisden of Elk Creek, WV, Eugene (Alma) Baisden of Elk Creek, WV, and John Allen
Baisden of Stone, KY and two special friends, Susan and Corbett Smith, a host of nieces and
nephews and members of her church family. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr.
Gazzel and the staff of Hazard A. R. H. Infusion Care Center for all their love and care.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM, Saturday, August 6, 2016, at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Fugate officiating. Burial will follow at Farley Cemetery, Elk
Creek, WV, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Sylvia Ann Maynard, 84, of Williamson, WV, passed away Friday, August 5, 2016, at Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born May 19, 1932, in Pike County, KY, the daughter of the late John Everet and
Victoria Snow Defoe. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Jackie Darrel Maynard and
Danny Ray Maynard. Sylvia was a homemaker and member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her children, James Maynard of Kalamazoo, MI, Betty Yahr of Scotts, MI,
Pearl McKinney of Williamson, WV, Brenda Whisenant of Belfry, KY, Joann Bianco of North
Carolina and Teresa Melara of Dallas, GA; brother, George (Judy) Defoe of Williamson, WV;
sister, Linda (Denny) Hinchman of Niles, MI; fifteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren
and a host of family and friends.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, August 8, 2016, at the Chattaroy Church of
God with Haskell Runyon Jr. officiating.
Visitation will begin at 10 AM Monday at the Church.
Linda Darlene Johnson-Rolle (Rosebud), 47 of Miami,
Fl. passed away Friday, January 21, 2011 at Henry Medical
Center in Atlanta, Ga. due to a brief illness.
She was born June 16, 1963 in South Williamson, Ky.
the daughter of the late Rev. Carl Eugene Johnson Sr. and
Evelyn Carter Johnson. She was a member of the Mount
Carmel Baptist Church of Huddy, Ky. Linda graduated
from Belfry High School, continuing her education at
Eastern Kentucky University. Later in life moving to
Miami, Fl. where she became the wife to Kevin Rolle and devoted mother to Brandon Johnson,
Tiffany Rolle, Ashley Rolle and Kevin Rolle Jr.
Surviving are her two sons, Brandon Johnson and Kevin Rolle Jr. of Miami, Fl; two
daughters, Tiffany Rolle and Ashley Rolle of Miami, Fl.; beloved daughter-in-law, Sheri
Johnson and granddaughter, Saryah Jaida Johnson of Miami, Fl.; five brothers, Carl and Lisa
Johnson of Harold, KY, Clifford and Debra Johnson of Belfry, KY, Joseph and Maria Johnson
of San Marcus, Ca., Johnny and Geri Johnson of Kileen, TX, and Paul Johnson of Philadelphia,
PA three sisters, Barbara Johnson of Atlanta, GA, Debra Johnson of Philadelphia, PA and
Brenda Johnson of Philadelphia, PA; numerous nieces and nephews that she loved so very
much.
If there is one thing that everyone could agree on, Linda was a God fearing woman after
Gods on heart. She always said that nothing ever matters when you know God is in control and
nothing ever did. Being the light that lead her husband, four children and many others to know
Jesus Christ. Romans 14:8 For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the
Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's.
Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Saturday January 29, 2011 at R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home with Rev. G. C. Childress officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory
Gardens, Huddy, KY, with family serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be after 6 P.M. Friday
at the funeral home.
George Robert Rose, 60 of Hephzibah, Ga. formerly of Canada, KY passed away Sunday
night, January 30, 2011 in Georgia. He was born February 8, 1950 in Pike County, Ky to the
late Heston and Susie Juanita Farley Rose. He was retired from the U. S. Army.
He is survived by his wife; Chong S. Rose, one daughter; Hanna Lee Rose of Charlotte,
N.C., one son; Robert Eugene Rose of Spartanburg, S.C., four brothers; Elbert H. Rose of
Canada, Ky. Herman Rose of Albany, Ky. Wayne Alfred Meade of Akron, Ohio and Joseph
Wayne Meade of Columbia, S.C. two sisters; Vivian Sue Rose of Canada, Ky. and Nyoka Rose
Stanley of Canada, Ky. One grandchild; Kamden Michael Rose of Spantanburg, S.C. and a host
of loving family and friends.

Funeral Home with Gary Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow at the Rose Cemetery at

conducted by Belfry Chapter #141. Visitation will be after 6 P.M. Thursday night and Friday
night at the funeral home with special services both nights at 7 P.M.
