Elizabeth "Liz" Ramey, 59, of Naugatuck, WV, passed away Thursday March 24, 2011 at King's Daughters Medical Center. She was born March 21, 1952 in Mingo County, WV to the late Greenberry Evans and Nancy Jane Newsome Evans. She is also preceded in death by her husband: Lee Edward Ramey, an infant daughter: Nancy Irene. She was a homemaker and a member of the God's Lighthouse in Dingess, WV.
She is survived by two sons: Lee Edward Ramey II of Naugatuck, WV and Dewey Clyde Parsley of North Matewan, WV two daughters: Linda (Robert) White of Laurel Creek, WV and Hope (Jason) Hayes of Sprigg, WV three brothers: Curtis (Connie) Evans of Naugatuck, WV; Jerry (Margaret) Evans of Lovely, KY and Willie Evans, one sister: Irene Johnson and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Sunday March 27, 2011 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Jim Ed Whitt, David Stratton and John Spurlock officiating. Burial will follow at the Family Cemetery at Naugatuck, WV with Family and Friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday night and Saturday night at the funeral home.
Francis Ramey, 87, of McAndrews, KY, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2011 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital, South Williamson, Ky.
She was born July 30, 1923 in Pike County, Ky. the daughter of the late George and Alifair Stiltner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Luther Ramey and several brothers and sisters. Francis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a homemaker.
Survivors include her son, Steven (Libby) Ramey of Stone, Ky.; her daughter, Donna (Roger) Thornsberry of Fayetteville, NC; sister, Mable Stevens of Flatwoods, Ky.; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, March 28, 2011 in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Elswick officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky. with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held after 6 PM Sunday, March 27, 2011 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home.
Steve Kohari, 85, of Chattaroy, WV left his earthly home on Saturday, March 26, 2011, and was welcomed with open arms into Heaven and was reunited with his beloved Mother. He passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 31, 1925, to Hungarian immigrants Andy Kohari and Elizabeth Dudash Kohari in Caretta, WV. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, loved him, and were fortunate enough to be his friend. He never met a stranger and often would give of his time and energy to better someone else's life. He had a wonderful life; never missing the opportunity to travel, fish, and hunt. We have our many cherished memories of him including the priceless stories he would tell us about the many "best" ever fishing or hunting trips. He loved his family and spent as much time as possible with each of them. He loved trips to his houseboat in Tennessee and he especially loved spending long vacations hunting at his daughter and son-in-law's farm in Ritchie County, WV.
Steve received the Bronze Star on March 5, 1945 while serving with the 247th Engineer Combat Battalion in Germany during WWII. He retired from coal mining in 1981 after 40 years, much of that time having been spent with Island Creek Coal Company. He was a member of UMW Local 1440. He was a long time member of the Chattaroy Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by brothers, the Rev. Andy Kohari, John Kohari, Frank Kohari, Jim P. Kohari and sisters Mattie "Mary" Hedrick, Julia Kohari Gondel, Elizabeth Kohari Wilson, and Jo Ann Kohari Sweeney; and an infant granddaughter, Angela Lousie Bruni. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Peggy Ruth Thompson Kohari, son Duane D. (Reta) Kohari of Charlotte, NC; daughter Mary Jo (Doug) Dudley of Burnwell, KY; and daughter Susie (Dominick) Bruni of Petroleum, WV. Grandchildren Steven (Jasmine) Dudley of Henderson, NV; Dr. Mary Beth Dudley of Tucson, AZ; Meredith Kohari of Raleigh, NC; Joseph Bruni of Cincinnati, OH; and Amy Bruni of Grand Junction, CO.
Brothers Rev. Mike (Jewell) Kohari of Forest Hills, KY; and Joey (Margaret) Kohari of Chattaroy, WV. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Barbara Kohari, Jo Ann Kohari, Mary Moore Thompson, Margaret Thompson Schroeder and Mildred Thompson Wampler, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dignity Hospice of Chapmanville for their kindness, care and gentle guidance. The family would also like to thank brother Joey and nephews, Darrell and Barry Kohari and special friend/neighbor Otis Pinson for their special care, comfort and support these past few months. The siblings and their families would like to extend their gratitude to their sister, Mary Jo, for her unwavering and steadfast dedication, and love over the years for Dad. Her efforts enhanced the quality of his long life. Honorary pallbearers are Joey Kohari, Rev. Mike Kohari, Jim Gauze, Otis Pinson, G.C. Thomas J. Edsel Williamson 83, of Sidney, KY passed away Monday April 4, 2011 at his residence. he was born December 25, 1927 at Huddy, Ky. to the late Johnny and Nancy Spears Williamson. He was also preceded in death by two brothers; James L. Williamson and Ernest Williamson and his son-in-law; Jeffrey Rutherford. He was a retired railroader, a member of the Belfry Freewill Baptist Church and a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife; Shirley Jean Moon Williamson, four sons; Tommy Dean Williamson of Dix Fork Sidney, Ky, James T. Williamson of Dix Fork Sidney, KY, Jerry Lee Williamson of Revlo, KY, and Terry Eugene Williamson of Pine Knot, KY, two daughters; Lisa Rutherford of Sharondale, KY, and Madlyn Lewis of Dix Fork Sidney, Ky. three brothers; James L. Williamson of Canada, KY, Bobby E. Williamson of Canada, , KY, and Ernest R. Williamson of Media, Ohio three sisters; Clairene Elswick of Media Ohio, Betty Blackburn of Louisville, Ky. and Irne Blackburn of Sidney, KY, sixteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Thursday April 7, 2011 at the Belfry Freewill Baptist Church with Buddy Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow at the Williamson Family Cemetery at Sidney, KY, with Grandchildren and Family serving as pallbearers. Ruth Harmon Bailey 84, of Forest Hills, KY formerly of Newtown, WV went to be with the Lord, Monday April 4, 2011 at the ARH Skilled Nursing Facility at South Williamson, KY with her loving children present at her bedside. Ruth was born May 6, 1926 at Varney, WV. She was the daughter of the late James and Nannie Harrison Harmon. She was preceded in death by her devoted and cherished husband; Hughey "Ben" Bailey.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers; Burl, Reaford, Donald, Elmer and Lige Harmon and two sisters; Eunice and Ruby Harmon.
Ruth was a member of the Belfry Freewill Baptist Church at Belfry, KY. Most of her adult life, she was a devoted wife and mother to her family. She worked at numerous jobs throughout lifetime. Ruth was especially proud of her work and service at the New Town Head Start Center.
Ruth is survived by one brother; Johnny Harmon of San Antonio, TX and three sisters; Inez Null of Ocoee, MD Louise French of Tampa Fl. and Phyllis (Doris) Hickman of Morristown, TN. Phyllis was always there for her in the best and worst of times.
Ruth is survived by two sons; David Lee (Sharon) Bailey of Taylor, MI and Harvey (Dale) Bailey of Statesboro, GA. two daughters; Patricia (Gordon Blaine) Cathell of Tunnelton, WV and Judy (John) Simpkins of Forest Hills, KY twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Mary Helen "Mattie" Hunt, 95, of Belfry, KY passed away Tuesday at her residence.
She was born January 29, 1916 at Middlesboro, KY. to the late John and Anna Potensky. She is also preceded in death by her husband; Carroll E. Hunt, brothers; Walter Potensky, Henry Potensky, Alex Potensky and Dennis Potensky and sisters; Ella Reed, Stella Padar and Louise Earl. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Williamson, WV.
She is survived by two sons; James C. (Elizabeth) Hunt of Belfry, Ky. and John F. (Gayle) Hunt of Belfry, Ky. two grandchildren; James C. Hunt II of Belfry, Ky. and John F. Hunt II of Belfry, KY. and two great grandchildlren; Nicholas Hunt and Chelsea Hunt and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Thursday April 7, 2011 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Hoppy officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memory Gardens at Huddy, Ky. with James C. Hunt II, John F. Hunt II, Nicholas Hunt, Eddie Nenni, Keith Baldwin and Bob Scott serving as pallbearers. Billy Chapman, 84, of Williamson, WV passed away Monday, April 4, 2011 at the Trinity Healthcare of Logan, WV.
He was born October 7, 1926 at Thacker, WV the son of the late Sydney Allen and Fannie E. Hatfield Chapman. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Irene Sampson Chapman; daughters, Cindy Lee Chapman and Baby Girl Chapman; sisters, Juanita DeWolf and Jaquita Griffth and brother, Golden Chapman.
Billy was a retired US Navy Veteran with over 20 years of service and then he was a resident manager for Luke Waldrop. He was a member of Boone Masonic Lodge # 247 F. & A.M. in Roanoke, Va. and a member of the Freedom Center.
Survivors include one son, Billy (Lori) Chapman; four daughters, Virginia (Dennis) Shelton, Tina McDaniels, Theresa (Bobby) Wilson and Cheryl (Ricky) Ball; twelve grandchildren, Roxanna Chapman, Serena (Ryan) Williams, Stephanie, Becca and Bobbie Wilson, Chris (Christine) Thompson, Rebecca (Ben) Glover, Guilianna Anderson, Jenamaye Shelton, Ricky Ball, Kevin (Cass) Ball and Brandon (Michelle) Ball; eighteen great grandchildren, Kailey, Kayden and Ava Mooty, Jayia, Lana, Mea and Mena Williams, Shakiya and Jordan Cleavenger, Hunter, Logan and Blake Rowan, Braydon and Bryce Canada, Ricky, Breanna, Katlynn and Meghan Ball and a host of family and friends.

Katie May McCoy, 89, of Williamson, West Virginia, died Saturday, April 9, 2011 in the Trinity Healthcare, Williamson, West Virginia.
Born in Pike County, March 15, 1922, Katie was the daughter of the late Bob And Addie (May) May, Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Epp McCoy, three brothers and five sisters.
Katie was a homemaker and of the Freewill Baptists Faith. She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and friends.
Funeral Services will be held 1 P.M. Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at the Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, Kentucky with Buddy Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens, of Huddy, Kentucky, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held after 6 P.M. Monday evening with special services at 7 P.M.
