Lee Edwards Eaton II, 48, was found dead in his home on July 8th, 2011.
Lee was a contractor in Kennesaw, Ga and a graduate of the University of Kentucky. As a contractor Lee renovated homes and worked on various commercial projects for his customers, most recently in Kennesaw, Ga. Lee, a devote Christian, was often a volunteer for helping communities or individuals recover from disaster. He was a generous soul who touched many lives and will be missed by his friends and family.
Lee is survived by his mother, Eleanor Runyon Eaton Blackwell of Lexington, Ky. His father, Lee Edwards Eaton of Fort Lauderdale, Fla, preceded him in death. His extended family includes, Marguerite Runyon Pope, his aunt of Salem, SC, 4 cousins, Peter Pope, James Pope and Vicky Humphrey of Atlanta and Betty Cowell of New Orleans and their families. He also has a half brother Loren Eaton of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Funeral Services will be held at the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, Ky on July 16, 2011 at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Vaughan Smith officiating to be followed by a burial at the Runyon family site in John's Creek, Ky. Visitation will be from 12 Noon till time for the funeral. A memorial service or "a celebration of the life" of Lee Edwards Eaton II will be held in Kennesaw at a later date. The family requests that in lieu of flowers for the funeral that donations be made to Christian Appalachian Project in his name.
Grace V. Tackett, 94 of Pinsonfork, KY, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2011 at the J. J. Jordan Geriatric Center, Louisa, Ky.
She was born April 25, 1917 in Williamson, WV the daughter of the late Cletus and Sally Ward Meade. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Allen Tackett; several brothers and sisters; a grandson, Steven Runyon and son-in-laws, Charles Lusk, Richard Gary and Robert Runyon. She was a retired cook having worked at Kings Restaurant in Williamson, WV for several years and a member of the Pentecostal Holliness Church.
Survivors include seven sons, David Michael (Mary Ann) Tackett of Norfolk, Va., Randall Lewis (Priscilla) Tackett of Stuart, Va., Larry Adrian (Marcy) Tackett of Huddy, KY, Fred (Genda K.) Tackett of Louisa, KY, Ronnie Lee (Alana E.) Tackett of Louisa, KY, Joe Allen (Bessie) Tackett of Toler, Ky. and Mark Anthony (Angela) Tackett of Stone, Ky.; six daughters, Edna Helen Lusk of Florida, Martha Ann (Rich) Roberts of Harrisburg, NC, Karen Susan Gary of New Port News, Va., Robin Jill (Chet) York of Hardy, KY, Penny Runyon of Belfry, Ky. and Tina Maresa (Jack) Parsley of Kermit, WV; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 1 PM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky. with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held after 6 PM Monday, July 18, 2011 in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel.
Brandi Ann Fields, 33, of Ransom, KY, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2011.
She was born February 18, 1978 in Pike County, Ky. the daughter of Randy Edward Fields of McCarr, Ky. and Lana Smith Blankenship of Ransom, Ky. Other survivors include her step father, Ricky Blankenship of Ransom, Ky.; her son, Tyler Nicholas Fields of the Home; Grandparents, Landon (Kaye) Smith of Ransom, Ky. and a host of Aunts, Uncles and Friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Randy Nicholas Fields and grandparents, Chester and Frances Fields and Ann Smith.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 24, 2011 at 1 PM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Alley Cemetery, Ransom, Ky. with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held after 6 PM Saturday, July 23, 2011 in the R. E. Jenny Lynn Thornsbury Booth, 52, of Canada, KY, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011 at her home.
Jenny was born November 24, 1958 at South Williamson, Ky. the daughter of Hazel Thornsbury Sturgill of Canada, Ky. and the late Bobby Lee Thornsbury. She was also preceded in death by her step father, William Bill Sturgill and her grandparents, Joe and Ethel Fuller Thacker and William Madison and Octavia Smith Thornsbury.
She was a former secretary for Mitchell Case Trucking and a loving mother, grandmother, daughter and sister.
Other survivors include a son, Dart Erwin (Brandy) Phillips Jr. of Canada, Ky.; two daughters, Jayne Aaron Thacker and Daryol Mullins of Sidney, Ky. and Rebekah Tess Booth of Canada, Ky.; three sisters, Loretta (Larry) Varney, Carletta (Woody) Robinette and Marianne (Robert) Goff all of Canada, Ky.; three brothers, Bobby (Gwen) Thornsbury of Matewan, WV, Joseph (Brenda) Thornsbury of Canada, Ky. and Vince (Louise) Sturgill of Burnwell, Ky.; grandchildren, Shyla Raquel Phillips, Jenna Grace Thacker, Leah Shay Thacker, Riley Clifford Phillips, Kevin Lukas Thacker and Eli Breyer Mullins and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 12 Noon in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Randall Thornsbury officiating. Burial will follow in the Thornsbury Cemetery, Canada, Ky. with Bobby Thornsbury, Joseph Thornsbury, Vince Sturgill, Walter Young, Daryol Mullins and Dart Phillips Jr. serving as pallbearers. Billy Ray Fannin, 77, of Davis Branch, Stone, KY, passed away Friday, July 29, 2011 at the Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center, Pikeville, Ky.
He was born April 6, 1934 in Pike County, Ky. the son of the late Robert and Ethel Ratliff Fannin. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Irene Fannin.
Billy was a former coal miner and of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his daughter, JoAnn Gernert of Hardensburg, Ky.; son, Billy Ray Fannin Jr. of Owensboro, Ky.; sister, Joyce (Ronnie) Booth of Hardy, Ky.; grandchildren, Jody Gernert, Kelsey Fannin and Kelly Fannin and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Jimmy Ray Elkins, 62, of Pinsonfork, KY, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2011 at his home.
He was born March 18, 1949 in Pike County, Ky. the son of the late Odna and Nary Silcox Elkins. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Curtis McPeek and Roland Elkins and sisters, Opal Ratliff, Ann Haynes and Janie McPeek.
Jimmy was a retired coal miner and of the Freewill Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Elizabeth "Libby" Elkins of Pinsonfork, Ky.; sons, Jimmy (Mildred) Elkins of Delbarton, WV and Curtis (Jill) Elkins of Pinsonfork, Ky.; brothers, Jerry (Dean) Elkins of Prestonsburg, Ky. and Dallas (Audrey Jones) Elkins of Sterns, Ky.; granddaughter, Madison Faith Smith; a special niece, Dena Stroud of Canada, Ky. and a host of other family and friends.

Ronnie Smith, 59, of Forest Hills, KY, passed away Monday, August 1, 2011 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital.
He was born May 29, 1952 in Mingo County, WV the son of the late Walter and Carol Maxine Smith. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Shirlene Blankenship.
Ronnie was a disabled coal miner.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Smith of Forest Hills, Ky.; son, Shawn Smith of Martin County, Ky; brothers, Elbert Terry of Williamson, WV, Roger Smith of Pinsonfork, Ky. and Jimmy Dale Smith of Wayne County, WV; sisters, Gayle Gooslin of Hardy, KY, Darlene Johnson of Martin County, Ky. and Enoia Wolford of Warfield, Ky.; one granddaughter, Kayla Williamson and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 11 AM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Lonnie Francis, Donnie Williamson and Earl Coleman officiating.

Bertha R. Smith, 94, of Belfry, KY, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at the Hazard Hospice Care Center.
She was born August 13, 1916 at Boonesville, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Sam and Myrtle Ross Rasner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Homer Smith and Truman Smith, brother, Gene Rasner and sister, Marie Burch.
She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mamaw was also known for her good cooking.
Those left to love and cherish her memory include her precious daughters, Barbara (Virgil) Ray of Nashville, TN, Sue (C.J.) Sammons of Red Jacket, W. Va. and Judy (Bobby) Smith of Canada, Ky.; Grandchildren, Billy (Lesa) Sammons, Kim (Britt) Moore, Chris Sammons, Steve Ray, Deborah (Ben) Bratcher, Robin Dee Farley, Roger (Chris) Farley, Regina Abbott, Bridgett (Johnny) Willis, Whitney (Chris) Brinager; Great Grandchildren, Drew Bratcher, Blake Bratcher, Chad Ray, Chase Ray, Shawn Sammons, Josh Sammons, Ashley Sammons, Chase Franklin, Troy Franklin, Matthew Farley, Tyler Farley, Mason Farley, Jordan Wilkerson, Cameron Kinser, Johna' Willis and Xondre' Willis; Great Great Grandchildren, Payton Brinager, Madylan Brinager, Jaelyn Wilkerson, Collin Farley and Beckett Bratcher, She is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
