Janice Lea Hager, 74, of Hardy, KY, passed away Friday, August 5, 2011 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital, South Williamson, KY.
Born March 15, 1937 at Ransom, Kentucky, Janice was a daughter of the late Jesse and Hines Smith Hager. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three half brothers, Pierce Hager, Willie Jake Hager and Henry Hager; two half sisters, Ethel Jenkins and Marie Pompie; two sisters, Mary Ellen Hager and Myrul Hager; two brothers, Onis Hager and Burl Hager.
She is survived by one brother, Acie (Sharon) Hager of Hardy, Kentucky; two sisters, Annie Coleman of Huddy, Kentucky and Lois (Bob) Justice of Ransom, Kentucky; Caregiver and Niece, Pam Hager of Hardy, Kentucky; host of nieces and nephews and a host of loving friends.
Funeral Services will be held 1 P.M. Sunday, August 7, 2011 at the Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, Kentucky with Lonnie Francis, Donnie Williamson and Earl Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in the Hager Cemetery, Ransom, Kentucky with nephews serving as Pallbearers. Visitation will be held Saturday Evening at Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, Kentucky with special singing at 7 P.M.
Bud May, 94, of Canada, KY, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2011 at his residence.
He was born June 29, 1917 in Pike County, Ky to the late William Jefferson and Nancy Ball May. He is also preceded in death by his wife; Lear E. Williamson May, daughter; Rosemary Lynn (May) Varney, granddaughter; Danielle Lynn (Varney) Childers, daughter-in-law; Linda (Collins) May, brothers; Kelly May, Walter May, Willard May, William Jefferson May and Drury May, sisters; Pricy (May) Stanley and Maude (May) Gent.
He was a retired coal miner, a member of the Old Pond Primitive Baptist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II and a Pearl Harbor survivor.
He is survived by four sons; Larry Neil May of Canada, KY, Ronald Bruce May of Canada, KY, Ricky Joe May of Canada, KY, and Chadwick Dwain May of Canada, KY, one brother; Harold May of Canada, KY, three sisters; Gertrude (May) Blackburn of Pinsonfork, KY, Ruth (May) Blackburn of Pinsonfork, KY, and Jeanette May of Pinsonfork, KY. Thirteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Monday night and Tuesday night at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with special services both nights at 7 PM.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM Wednesday August 10, 2011 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Raymond Stanley and Mike Elswick officiating. Burial will follow at the May Cemetery at Canada, KY with Grandsons serving as pallbearers. Belfry Chapter #141 will conduct graveside military service.
Jack Hubbard, 71, of Pinsonfork, KY, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2011 in Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV.
He was born February 23, 1940 at McVeigh, Ky. the son of the late William Henry and Elkie Robinette Hubbard. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, David and James Hubbard and an infant sister, Gladys Hubbard.
He was a retired coal miner, member of the United Mine Workers of America and United States Army Veteran.
Survivors include two daughters, Rachel Hubbard Hodges of Hatfield, Ky. and Elka Jean Hubbard Goins of Radcliff, Ky.; brother, Sam (Kandie) Hubbard of Pinsonfork, Ky.; sisters, Jessie (Gene) Sensing of Pinsonfork, KY, Ruth Nowacki of Roseville, MI, Sandy (Jerry) Brower of Lincolnton, NC, Henrietta Gilliland of Waynesville, NC, Patty (Jeff) Mullins of Salt Lick, KY, Donna (Eddie) Hill of Ransom, Ky. and Johnna (Donald) Sansom of Red Jacket, WV; three grandchildren, Matthew Hubbard, Jordan Faith Hodges and Jonah Daniel Hodges and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 2 PM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Ervin Francis officiating. Burial will follow in the Romans Cemetery, Hatfield, Ky. with Belfry Chapter #141 DAV conducting Military graveside services.

Jessie James Hatfield Jr. 68, of McCarr, KY, passed away Tuesday August 9, 2011 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital.
He was born April 8, 1943 at Thacker, WV to the late Jessie James Hatfield Sr. and Dolly Ratliff Hatfield. He was also preceded in death by one brother; Tiny Hatfield.
He was a disabled coal miner, a member of the Stone Masonic Lodge #890 F & AM, the Shrine Club, U.M.W.A., the American Legion and a veteran of the US Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife; Mary Ann Dotson Hatfield, daughter; Sherri (David) Harris of Canada, KY., sons; Michael (Wanda) Wells of Kimper, KY., and Jimmy (Tara) Wells of Wharncliffe, WV., sisters; Barbara Sue (Tom) Cummea of Polk City, Fl., and Bonnie (Bob) Mamo of Ashland, Ky. brothers; Larry (Linda) Hatfield of North Matewan, WV., MacArthur (Delores) Hatfield of McCarr, KY., and David (Ellen) Hatfield of South Williamson, KY., grandchildren; Nathan (Alisha) Harris of Kingsport, TN., Felicia Eldridge of NC., Kirstin Wells of NC., Terrance Wells of Blackberry, KY, Joseph (Ashley) Wells of Pikeville, KY., Brandon Bragg of Wharncliffe, WV., Danah (Steven) Lovins of Wharncliffe, WV., Shauna Scaggs of Pikeville, KY., and Jessica Scaggs of Belfry, KY, great grandchildren; Haley, Megan, Lindsey, Ryan, Sarah, Maikaila, Brenton and Brooklyn, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be after 6 PM Wednesday and Thursday night at the funeral home with special services both nights at 7 PM. There will also be Masonic Services Thursday night at 6:30 PM with Stone Lodge #890 F. & A.M.
William Ersel Stanley, 83 of Hardy, KY, went home to be with the Lord on August 9, 2011 at his residence.
Ersel was born February 8, 1928 in Pike County, Ky. the son of the late Rev. Willie Stanley and Emma Scott Stanley. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ervil and Virgil Stanley and one sister, Birdie Anderson.
Ersel was a retired sales manager for Hatfield McCoy Ford and Superior Ford. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War and was also a member of the Toler Freewill Baptist Church.
Ersel is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruth Stiltner Stanley of Hardy, Ky.; one son, William Joe (Katie) Stanley of Pikeville, Ky.; one daughter, Deborah E. (Michael) Stanley of Hardy, Ky.; three grandchildren, Joseph Stanley, Alyssa Stanley and Sidney Ratliff; one great grandchild, Isaiah Stanley and a host of loving friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 11 AM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Donnie Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky. with Paul Williamson, Dave Williamson, Earl Scott, Jackie Hatfield, Jimmie Hatfield, Ireland Smith, Paul Hall and Rodney Scott serving as pallbearers. Keri Ann Dotson, 34, of Bent Branch Road, Pikeville, KY, went home to be with her Lord Thursday, August 11, 2011 in the Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born July 26, 1977 at South Williamson, Ky. the daughter of David E. and Linda Smith Reed of Hardy, Ky.
Keri was an office manager for Johnson Law Firm, Pikeville, KY, a member of the Williamson Area Church of Christ and a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter and aunt.
She was preceded in death by her loving son, David Brody Dotson; grandparents, Anna Lee Smith, Laurine and Earl Reed.
Beside her parents, she is survived by her loving husband, Irv Dotson of Pikeville, Ky.; sons, Max Thomas and Samuel Lucas Dotson of the home; sister, Dana (Roger) Williamson of Huddy, Ky.; brother-in-law, Jim (Amybeth) Dotson of Lexington, Ky.; grandfather, Carl B. Smith of Turkey Creek, Ky.; nephews, Justin Ryan and Joshua David Williamson and nieces, Raeanna Drue and Carli Reese Dotson and a host of other family and friends.

Mart Thomas "Tommy" Smith, 20, of Sidney, KY passed away Thursday August 11, 2011 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital.
He was born December 5, 1990 at Pikeville, KY to the late Earnest Gillman Jr. and Wanda Smith of Sidney, KY. He is also preceded in death by grandparents; Earnest Gillman, Doris Gillman, Mart Thomas Smith, and Nola Gladys Smith., aunt; Patsy Young and uncle; Robert Smith.
Besides his mother, he is survived by two sisters; Rachel Williamson of Lenore, WV and Wanda Marie Morris of Hatfield, KY one brother; Daniel Williamson of Inez, KY., nieces and nephews; Chloe Morris, Bradyn Morris, Karmen Williamson, Trenton Williamson and Daniel Williamson Jr., ; aunts, Kathy May, Esther Gibson and Faye Murphy; uncle, Bobby May and cousins, Cathy Jo Daniels and Stephen Varney and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will bo conducted at 11 AM Monday August 15, 2011 at the New Begining Church of God.. Burial will follow at Smith Family Cemetery, Sidney, Ky with Daniel Williamson, Billy Morris, Ronnie Ward, Sean Pyles, Stephen Varney and Larry Daniels serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Saturday and Sunday night at the church.
