Charles Edward Johnson, 75, of South Williamson, KY, passed away Thursday evening, November 3, 2011 at his home.
He was born February 23, 1936 in Knoxville, Tn. the son of the late Austin and Agnes Williams Johnson. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Austin Johnson Jr.
Charles was retired from the First National Bank of Williamson after 30 years of service. He was a former member of the Air Force National Guard, a member of the First Baptist Church of Belfry and he loved to travel and spend time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dr. Mary Ray Johnson; four sons, Dr. Chuck (Vicki) Johnson of South Williamson, KY, Bryan (Rhonda) Johnson of Louisville, KY, Shawn (Kelli) Johnson of Walton, Ky. and Bruce (Lisa) Johnson of Johnson City, Tn.; sister, Virginia Chesney of Knoxville, Tn.; eight grandchildren, Mary Beth Johnson, Katie Johnson, Chas Johnson, Courtney Johnson, Blair Johnson, Cooper Johnson, Lauren Johnson and Abby Johnson and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 6, 2011 at 2:30 PM at the First Baptist Church of Belfry with Brother Mark Helton and Brother Bob Norman officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, KY, with his sons and grandsons serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church of Belfry from 6 till 9 PM on Saturday, November 5, 2011. Joyce Thacker Thornsbury Fleming, 78 of Lucasville, Ohio formerly of Canada, KY passed away Thursday evening, November 3, 2011 in the Hospice Medical Center, Portsmouth, Ohio.
She was born August 4, 1933 in Pike County, Ky. the daughter of the late Elder Joe and Ethel Fuller Thacker. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Claude V. Thornsbury and three brothers, J. B. Thacker, Harold Thacker and Clifford Thacker.
Joyce was a homemaker and a member of the Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Sidney Fleming; three sons, Larry (Gaynelle) Thornsbury of Canada, KY, Randal (Angelia) Thornsbury of Huddy, Ky. and Donnie Thornsbury of Canada, Ky.; one daughter, Lisa (Larry) Dotson of PawPaw, Ky.; four sisters, Hazel Sturgill, Dixie (Onis) Smith and Marie (John) Jacobs all of Canada, Ky. and Polly Ann Bishop of Michigan; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 7, 2011 at 11 AM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Elders Paris Blackburn, Jimmy Lee Smith and David Allen Thacker officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky. with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 6 PM on Saturday and Sunday with special services both nights at 7 PM.
Edith Elkins, 91, of Rawl, West Virginia, passed away, Monday November 7, 2011 in the Appalachian Regional Hospital Skilled Nursing, in South Williamson, KY.
She was born August 20, 1919 at Aflex, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Oscar and Martha Taylor Elkins.
Edith is survived by three brothers, Chester Elkins of Rawl, West Virginia, Franklin Dee (Gay) Elkins of Orlando, Florida and Hubert (Bonnie) Elkins of Morgantown, West Virginia; two sisters, Zella Pigman of Rawl, West Virginia and Pearl (Paul) Brown of Lick Creek, West Virginia.
At her request, she is to be cremated. Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.
Peggy Sue Collins Taylor, 58, of McAndrews, KY, passed away Thursday morning, November 17, 2011 at the Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born October 4, 1953 in Williamson, WV the daughter of the late Delbert Leonard and Hazel Stiltner Collins. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Freeman.
Peggy was a homemaker and also a member of the Mike's Branch Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband of almost 41 years, John Lewis Taylor of McAndrews, Ky. whom she married
on January 22, 1970; two sons, James Leonard (Sherry) Taylor of McAndrews, Ky. and John Michael Taylor of the Home; two sisters, Shelia Douglas of Gainesville, FL and Deborah Scott of Lakeland, FL; four brothers, Gary Collins, Danny Collins and Dale Collins all of Gainesville, FL and Jackie Collins of Hickory, NC; two grandchildren, Megan Alise Taylor and Emily Paige Taylor and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 20, 2011 at 2 PM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with the ministers, David Parsley, James Orison and Shawn Slone officiating. Burial will follow in the Charlie Runyon Cemetery, Pinsonfork, Ky. with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Judy Carol Ratliff, 62, of Chattaroy, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Friday November 18, 2011 at her residence.
She was born February 25, 1949 at Williamson, WV to the late Jimmy Floyd Bateman and Stella Agnus Fletcher Bateman. She was also preceded in death by her sisters; Betty Keaton, Mary Kirk and Barbara Bateman.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Chattaroy Church of God.
She is survived by her husband; Danny Ray Ratliff; son; Jimmy (Ruby) Ratliff of Chattaroy, WV, daughters; Nichole (Ricky) Starr of Chattaroy, WV, and Dana (Jerry) Blevins of Chattaroy, WV; sister, Janette (J.R.) O'Brien of Williamson, WV; grandchildren; Corey Blevins, Brooklyn Blevins, Kaley Ratliff, Madison Ratliff, Emilee Ratliff and Tyler Starr; great grandchild; Judy Kay Blevins, sisters-in-law; June Bowen, Sue Swain and Sarah Whitt all of Columbus, Ohio and a host of loving family and friends.

Emma Jean Bowen, 63, of Pinsonfork, KY, passed away Saturday November 19, 2011 at Appalachian Regional Hospital Emergency Room.
She was born December 24, 1947 at McVeigh, Ky to the late Ervin and Hermia Belcher Bowen.
She was a former desk clerk at Mountaineer Hotel, a line checker at Kellogg’s and a member of the Upper Pond Creek Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her brothers; Roger Bowen of McVeigh, KY, Wallace (Sadie) Bowen of McVeigh, Ky. and James (Debbie) Bowen of Spartanburg, S.C., sisters; Loretta Worley of Pinsonfork, KY, and Ruth Ann (Dickie) Smith of Belfry, KY, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Stella Smith Hardy, 81, of Pinsonfork, KY, passed away Friday November 18, 2011 at Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born July 15, 1930 at Pinsonfork, KY, to the late Willie and Sally May Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband; Charles Alfred Hardy, brothers; Okey Smith, Buster Smith and Glen (Beulah) Norman, sister; Goldie (Earl) Folden, brother-in-Law; Rutherford B. Smith and all the Hardy Family brothers and sisters.
She was a homemaker and a member and treasurer of Octavia Freewill Baptist Church.

Earsel A. "Bunk" May, 66, of Stone, KY, passed away Monday evening, November 21, 2011 in the Pikeville Medical Center.
Bunk was born March 6, 1945 in Pike County, Ky. the son of the late Wash and Tisha May. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Marvin May and a sister Lillian May.
He was a disabled coal miner with Eastern Coal Corporation, a member of the United Mine Workers of America, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Stone United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife, Margaret O. May of Stone, Ky.; daughters, Rebecca Ann (Mark) Lungsford of Corbin, KY, Nancy Gayle May of Stone, KY, Rhonda May (Kenny Terry) of Sevierville, TN and Margaret Elizabeth May (Jason Fields) of Nolan, WV; brother, Robert (Charlotte) May of Jacksonville, FL., brother-in-law, Larry Roger Ooten of Stone, Ky.; grandchildren, Patricia Ann Hatcher, Rachel Michelle Hatcher, Bransion Chase May, Kayla Renee Lungsford, Khaled May, Joseph Allen Robert Lungsford.
