LIBERTY -- Bradley Austyn Floyd, 3-year-old son of Billy and Teena Adkins Floyd of Bethelridge, died Thursday in Louisville of complications sustained in a September auto accident in Russell Springs.
Born Nov. 14 1996, in Boyle County, he was the grandson of Jerry Adkins and Donald and Peggy Luttrell, all of Windsor, and Lynn and Kathleen Floyd of Bethelridge.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by Homer Smith.

CRAB ORCHARD -- Dessie Mae Smith Maggard, 90, formerly of Broughtontown died Thursday at Fort Logan Hospital.
Born Aug. 5, 1909, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Richard A. and Mary Elizabeth Playforth Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Zion Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Sue Reynolds of Lawrenceburg, Ind., and Sherry Stoeke of Covington; two sons, Emmett L. Maggard and Lonnie R. Maggard, both of Stanford; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home by Gerald Carter. Burial will be in Mount Zion Church of Christ Cemetery.

Eva M. Maxey
MORELAND -- Services for Eva Mae Maxey, 95, of Lexington were held today at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. William Maxey. Burial was in Hustonville Cemetery.
She died Tuesday at Pimlico Manor.
Born May 22, 1904, in Casey County, she was a daughter of John and Eva Swearinger Hafley. She was a homemaker, a member of the Church of God and the widow of Marion Maxey.
Survivors include two sons, Harold Maxey of Columbia and Glen Maxey of Lexington; three daughters, Ethel Sampson of Junction City, Pauline Sterling of Amelia, Ohio, and Goldia Dunn of Nicholasville; two sisters, Artie Denton of Indianapolis and Dova Foley of McClain, Ill.; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jesse Maxey.

Services for Jay Allen "Shorty" Underwood, 60, of Kings Mill Road will be 11 a.m. Monday at Indian Hills Christian Church by Odis Clark. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Boyle Post 46.

Born Dec. 11. 1914, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas H. and Elizabeth Starnes Naylor. She was a homemaker and a member of McKinney Christian Church. She was the widow of James C. Carrier.
She died Wednesday at Stanford House Nursing Home.
Survivors include three daughters, Betty J. Thompson of Lancaster, Irma G. Sears and Brenda S. Gerkey, both of McKinney; and two sons, Danny G. Carrier of Lexington and Roger "Red" Carrier of McKinney.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry C. "Whitey" Carrier.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Reynolds, James Sears, Edward Sears, Larry Carrier, Kelvin Carrier and Mike Ruhe.

George Bryant Tuggle

Born in Somerset on Aug. 30, 1924, Tuggle was a son of the late William J. and Nina Bryant Tuggle.
He had been employed by Star Bank in Cincinnati. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European theater, and of the Korean War. He was a graduate of Somerset High School and the University of Kentucky. He was a former president of the Pulaski County Historical Society and author of a history book entitled "Pulaski Revisited." He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a nephew, William G. Tuggle of Saucier, Miss.; and a niece, Sarah T. Pape of Indiana.
Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at Somerset Undertaking Chapel by the Revs. Joseph K. Altman and Bill Adcock. Burial will be in Somerset Cemetery.

Born April 23, 1939, in Garrard County, he was a son of the late Orbin and Madge Barr Grayson. He was a maintenance technician at Matsushita and an Army veteran. He was a member of Indian Hills Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Tharpe Underwood; three daughters, Lisa Underwood, Jayalita McCormack and Malissa Underwood, all of Danville; three brothers, Joe and Dean Underwood, both of Danville, and Ralph Underwood of Lancaster; a sister, Norma Pollard of Danville; and three grandsons.

ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. -- Celia Sorrow Hay, 60, of Zephyrhills, formerly of Danville, died Jan. 9 at East Pasco Medical Center.
Born in Franklin Springs, Ga., she was an employee of the old Kentucky State Hospital, Boyle County Health Department, Ephraim McDowell Memorial Hospital and Kentucky School for the Deaf. She was joint owner of Anderson and Spillman Milling Co., with her husband. She also had an 18-year career as a registered nurse with the Veterans Administration Hospital. She was a member of Christ the King Cathedral in Lexington and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zephyrhills.
Survivors include her husband, Charles H. Hay; two daughters, Carla D. Hay of Lancaster and Mary Beth Yankey of Tampa, Fla.; a son, Charles G. Hay of Largo, Fla.; and six grandchildren.
Burial was in Veterans Administration Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla.

Born Aug. 24, 1905, in Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Nora Adams Broughton. She was a retired employee of Kentucky State Hospital, a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church and the widow of Jesse D. Tharpe.
Survivors include three sons, Jesse Tharpe Jr. of Danville, Everett Tharpe of Harrodsburg and Duke Tharpe of Lawrenceburg; five daughters, Sylvia Tharpe of Louisville, Lucille Tharpe of Chicago, Violet Japson of Salvisa, William Lucas of Harrodsburg and Mildred Underwood of Danville; a brother, Clyde Broughton of Samuels; a sister, Beulah Lamb of Frankfort; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

LOUISVILLE --William Earl "Billy" Starr, 47, of Louisville died Tuesday at the Hospice care center here.
Born in Middletown, Ohio, he was a son of Floyd and Wanda Starr of Danville. He was a customer service representative for Kinetic Corp. in Louisville, and a member and photography instructor for the Louisville Visual Arts Association.
Other survivors include a brother, the Rev. Floyd Starr of Wakeeney, Kan.; and a sister, Cindy Dicken of Louisville.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Pearson Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Woodside Cemetery in Middletown, Ohio.
