Pauline B. Carter, 90, of Tavares, Fla., died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011.
Born at Ball Fork, she was a homemaker, a published poet and a member of the First Baptist Church of Tavares.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, William Carter; three sons, the Rev. Mike Carter of Coleman, Fla., Gregg Carter of Santa Fe, N.M., and Mark Carter of Turkey Creek; two daughters, Patricia Coleman of Tavares and Novella Lowe of Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.; three brothers, Hethel Birchfield of Knoxville, Tenn., Arville Birchfield of Lake Panasoffkee, Fla., and Everett Birchfield of Williamson, W.Va.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, with the Turkey Creek Freewill Baptist Church in charge of graveside services.

Wanda Coleman
Wanda Coleman, 67, of Wolfpit, died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at her residence.
She was born in Pikeville, May 5, 1944, to Genevive Morton Sawyers of Harless Creek and the late Arthur Sawyers. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Roger Dean Coleman; two daughters, Dewann Kendrick of Raccoon and Tonya Bartley of Wolfpit; one brother, Bobby Sawyers; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan 1. 2012, at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with David Ramey officiating. Burial will follow in the Yellow Hill Cemetery, Regina.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Goldine Crawford
Goldine Crawford, 77, of Red Jacket, W.Va., died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at the St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, W.Va.
She was born in Pike County, April 21, 1934, a daughter of the late Billy and Celia Mays Coleman. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Crawford; one sister, Shirley Varney; an infant son, Gary Crawford; two brothers, Harold Coleman and Thomas Coleman; and two grandchildren, Matthew Crawford and Jeana lana Crawford.
She was a homemaker and of the Freewill Baptist Faith.
She is survived by two sons, Ronnie Crawford of Lebington, Va., and Timmy Crawford of McAndrews; one daughter, Carolyn Sansom of Red Jacket; two brothers, Billy Ray Coleman of Illinois and Paul Coleman of North Matewan, W.Va.; four sisters, Doris Crawford, Frances Cline, Betty Lou Finkbone, all of Illinois, and Hazel Virginia Varney of McAndrews; five grandchildren; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, at the Chamber Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Hinkle officiating. Bural will follow in the Dehart Cemetery, Ransom.
Visitation will be Saturday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Alma Keathley
Alma M. Keathley, 69, of Grethel died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at her residence.
She was born in Pike County, July 1, 1942, a daughter of the late Waldon and Katie Newsome Hamilton. She was preceded in death by one son, Johnny Keathley; and one brother, Johnny Hamilton.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Little Dove Old Regular Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Buford Keathley; one son, James Keathley of Galveston; two daughters, Laura Jean Blankenship and Oma Kay Akers, both of Galveston; two brothers, James Hamilton and Avron Hamilton, both of Harold; two sisters, Kathrene Hamilton Bryant of Virgie and Daphine Johnson of Craynor; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conudcted at 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, at the Little Dove Old Regular Baptist Church in Harold with Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Keathley Cemetery, Branham’s Creek, Harold.
Visitation will be at the church.

Bobby Thompson
Bobby Lee Thompson, 66, of Pikeville, died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at his residence.
He was born in Pikeville, April 9, 1945, a son of the late Orville Buck and Elise Mae Farley Thompson. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy G. Thompson and Danny A. Thompson; and one sister, Sharon K. Thompson.
He was a retired coal mine mechanic.
He is surivived by his wife, Imojean Thacker Thompson; one son, Miles Jeffrey (Emma) Thompson of Sanford, Fla.; one daughter, Lisa Jean Thompson of Pikeville; four brothers, Tommy Thompson of Indiana, and James R. Thompson, Duke Thompson and Harold Thompson, all of Pikeville; two sisters Debra G. Thompson and Reportia A. Butt, both of Pikeville; three grandchildren, Bradley Thompson, Jeffery Dwayne Thompson and Jennifer Lynn Thompson; and one great-grandchild, Daniel Lee Thompson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, at the J.W. Call Funeral Home Chapel with James Thompson and Bill Bevins officiating. Burial will follow in the Justice Family Cemetery, Ivy Fork Road.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Thompson, Michael Thompson, Freddy Smith, David Bevins, Kenneth Thacker, Clifton Thacker, Brad Thompson, Mark Smith and Randall Smith.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral honme with services each night at 7 p.m.

Robert Adkins
Robert “Homie” Adkins, 27, of Pikeville, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, at US 460, Regina.
He was born in Pikeville, Feb. 25, 1984, the son of Ricky Adkins and Bernie Ratliff Justice.
He was employed in Detail/Sales at T.J. Auto Sales and was a member of the Marrowbone Missionary Baptist Church.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his stepmother, Francie Adkins; his stepfather, Tim Justice; three brothers, Daniel Adkins, Johnathon Adkins and Heath Justice; four sisters, Angela Fletcher, Anna Tackett, Paige Justice and Jenni Bedall.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, in the Lucas & Son Funeral Home Chapel with entombment following in the R.H. Ratliff Mausoleum. Arrangements were under direction of Lucas & Son Funeral Home of Pikeville.
Sally Jo Boggs
Sally Jo Hatfield Boggs, 53, of Mooresville, N.C., died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, at her home.
She was born in Holden, W.Va., March 13, 1953, the daughter of the late William R. and Gwendolyn Smith Hatfield.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Little Dove United Baptist Church, Belo, W.Va.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, William “Billy” Hatfield; and one sister, Naomi Hatfield.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Loa M. Boggs; one son, William Boggs of Sarah Ann, W.Va.; two daughters, Nokomis Bailey of Catawba, N.C., and Samantha Baisden of Verdunville, W.Va.; one brother, James Hatfield of Duncan Fork, W.Va.; two sisters, Wanda DeBoard and Brookie Adkins, both of Duncan Fork; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, in the Little Dove United Baptist Church with Jimmy Maynard, James Ed Baisden and Wayne Runyon officiating. Burial will follow in the Ooten Cemetery, Duncan Fork. Arrangements are under direction of Hatfield Funeral Chapel of Toler.
Visitation is at the church after 6 p.m. Wednesday with special services at 7 p.m.
Anna Dawhare
Anna Faye Goodman Dawhare, 76, of Douglas Drive, Pikeville, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, at St. Joseph Healthcare.
She was born in Pikeville, Nov. 17, 1935, the daughter of the late Birch Goodman and Vadney Branham Goodman.
She was retired from Pikeville Medical Center and was a hostess at the Landmark Inn. She was of the Old Regular Baptist faith.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Dawhare Sr.; one brother, McKinely Goodman; and one sister, Lillie Dale Goodman.
She is survived by two sons, Frank Dawhare III of Pikeville and Greg Dawhare of Cohoes, N.Y.; one daughter, Vicki Dawhare Cunningham of Lexington; two brothers, Claude Goodman of Pennsylvania and Alfed Goodman of Robinson Creek; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, Dec. 22, in the Little Creek Old Regular Baptist Church with Teddy Honaker, Carson Wright and others officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Memorial Park, Pikeville. Arrangements are under direction of Lucas & Son Funeral Home of Pikeville.
Donnie Falk
Donnie Gene Falk, 64, of Delbarton, W.Va., formerly of Oak Hill, W.Va., died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, at Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born in Oak Hill, Jan. 18, 1947, the son of Joyce McNaulty Falk Chambers of Charlotte, N.C., and the late James Eugene Falk.
He was a retired mine foreman with A.T. Massey and a member of the Bethel Temple Assembly of God.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by one son, Scott Falk; and his twin brother, Ronnie Falk.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Connie Falk; one son, Preston Falk of Mt. Hope, W.Va.; one brother, James Eugene Falk of Goldsboro, N.C.; one sister, Robyn Hovis of Claremont, N.C.; and two nieces.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, in the Tyree Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Perry officiating. Burial followed in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, W.Va. James Ferrell
James Bradley “Brad” Ferrell, 45, of Delbarton, W.Va., died Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born in Williamson, W.Va., Dec. 27, 1965, the son of James C. and Marilyn Leonard Ferrell of Delbarton.
He attended the Regional Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Phyllis Ferrell; one son, Joshua Hall of Sevierville, Tenn.; two daughters, Meagan Cibirowski and Kayla Ferrell of Princeton, W.Va.; one brother, Greg Ferrell of Richmond; four stepchildren, Quiana, Ryan, Mikie and Nathan; and several stepgrandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, in the Chafin Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Mitchell Bias, Ralph Farley and Matthew Gilman officiating. Burial followed in the Ferrell Cemetery, Delbarton. Arrangements were under direction of Chafin Funeral Home of Delbarton.
Geneva Fultz
Geneva Ward Fultz, 93, of Williamson, W.Va., died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2011, at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Phelps.
She was born in Nolan, W.Va., Aug. 10, 1918, the daughter of the late Robert Ward and Victoria Sammons Ward.
She was a teacher and a member of the Chattaroy Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Arville Murril Fultz; and eight brothers and sisters.
She is survived by one daughter, Bridget K. Call of Delbarton, W.Va.; one grandson, Heath Call of Delbarton; and one sister, Mary Lou Justice of Chattaroy, W.Va.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, in the Weaver Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. W.L. Bostic officiating. Burial followed in Mountain View Memory Gardens, Maher, W.Va. Arrangements were under direction of Weaver Mortuary of West Williamson.
