Kentucky Marriage Records by County

Massey
Services for Jack Massey, Sr., 76 of Decatur, Ala., formerly of Indianapolis, Ind., and Burna were held May 26 in Indianapolis. He died May 23, 1999.

Massey was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a retired employee of RCA.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Imogene Massey, of Decatur; a son Jack Massey, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Janet Massey of Indianapolis; a daughter, Bridget Borden, of Decatur; six grandchildren; one step-grandchild; a brother, Leon Massey of Burna; and a sister, Carleen Kemper of Frankfort.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Burna Massey.

Kinnis
Hildred Kinnis, 82, of Marion died May 18, 1999 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.

She was survived by a daughter, Barbara Cook of West Paducah; a grandson, Stan Cook; a granddaughter, Lisa Baker; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kinnis; a daughter, Patricia Kinnis; two brothers; and a sister.

Services were held May 21 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Revs. David Williams and Richard Fortner officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.

Hollis
Funeral services for Jerry W. Hollis, 54, of Marion, were held Feb. 6, 1999 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis.

Hollis died Feb. 4 at Sturgis Airport of an apparent heart attack.

Hollis was a member of Repton Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired from IBM after 25 years. He was an assistant manager of the Sturgis Airport.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Gloria Hollis of Marion; a daughter, Mrs. John Menser of Dawson Springs; a son, George Hollis of Washington, Ind.; five brothers, Ronnie Hollis, Jimmy Hollis, Larry Hollis and Dale Hollis, all of Sturgis, and Eugene Hollis of Somerset.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Hollis and brothers William Hollis and Shay Hollis.

Clark
Lillie Ann Clark, 92, of Marion, died Feb. 10, 1999 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center. She was a telephone operator for 30 years and was a member of Second Baptist Church in Marion.

Survivors include her husband, Houston Clark of Marion; two daughters, Sue Boone and Doris Taylor, both of Marion; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel McCree, and a son, Donald Houston Clark.

Funeral services were held Feb. 12 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Thurman officiating. Burial will be in Mapleview Cemetery.

Bell
Services for Audrey Lee Bell, 64, of Marion, were held Jan. 29, 1999 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. Tim Baker and Rev. Robert Phillips officiated. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.

Bell died Jan. 26 at Crittenden Hospital of cardiac arrest. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Herbert Bell of Marion; three daughters, Sharon Suits of Salem, Hazel Little of Crayne and Jeannette Lutz of Marion; a son, Robert Shields of Warsaw, Ky.; a sister, Jo Ann Rickels of Glencove, Ky.; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Shields.

Fowler
Hazel Fowler, 83, of Marion, died Jan. 29, 1999 at Crittenden Hospital. She was a member of Marion Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son, Robert T. Fowler of Fort Worth, Texas; a daughter, Brenda Dotson of Pensacola, Fla.; two brothers, Joseph Boswell of Oneata, Ala., and Bill Tinsley of Bixby, Okla.; two sisters, Irene Huddleston of Madisonville and Ada Eskew of St. Peters, Mo.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Feb. 1 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.

Watson
Cassie Watson, 85, of Salem, died Jan. 31, 1999 at Crittenden Hospital.

Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Shell of Burna; two sons, Charles Watson of Morocco, Ind., and Gary Watson of Marion; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Watson.

Funeral services were held Feb. 2 at Boyd Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.

Barnes
Ruth Barnes, 82, of Salem, died Jan. 25, 1999 at Western Baptist Hospital. She was a member of Pinckneyviille Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Bradley of Titusville, Fla.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Barnes.

Funeral services were held Jan. 29 at Boyd Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roger Rice officiating. Burial was in Pinckneyville Cemetery.

Atwell
Joyce Atwell, 54, of Amory, Miss., formerly of Crittenden County, died Jan. 26, 1999 at North MS Medical Center after an extended illness.

Atwell was a Crittenden County High School graduate and a homemaker.

Graveside services were held Jan. 30 at Lola Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry L. Atwell of Amory; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry L. Atwell II and his wife Tammy of Amory; a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Tony Sagely of Corinth, Miss.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Samuel and Joanne Brandon of Calvert City and Percy and Vicki Brandon of Marion; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ernestine and Thomas Sholar of Princeton and Lorene and Douglas Horsfield of London, Ky.; four grandchildren, Brandon Sagely, Jessica Atwell, Justin Sagely and Jene Atwell.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Cancer Center Patient Care Fund c/o Cindy Edwards, 990 S. Madison, Suite #1 Tupelo, MS 38801.

McDaniel
Services for Orville McDaniel, 77, of Marion were held Jan. 27, 1999 at Boyd Funeral Home in Salem. Rev. David Winders and Rev. Tony Alexander officiated. Burial was in White's Chapel Cemetery.

McDaniel died Jan. 24 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. He was a member and deacon of Barnett Chapel General Baptist Church, and he was a Kentucky Colonel. He was named the Crittenden County Farmer of the Year in 1984.

Survivors include his wife, Mona; a son, Joe McDaniel of Marion; two daughters, Janet Gregory and Marie Yates, both of Marion; two sisters, Ruby Hodge of Marion and Helen Nichols of Evansville; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

His parents were Miles and Pearl Croft McDaniel. He was also preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
