James A. Davis, 82, of Marion, passed away Aug. 23, 2002 at Crittenden Hospital. Funeral services were held Aug. 25 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Belles Mines Cemetery.
Davis was a charter member of the Marion VFW and attended Belles Mines Church.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha Davis; a son, Nicky Davis of Marion; a brother, J.W. Davis of Marion; a sister, Peggy Richardson of Portage, Ind.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Porcia Davis.
Corley
Funeral services for Lillian Sullivan Corley, 91, of Marion, were held Aug. 26, 2002 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. Lester Watson and Rev. Roger Waters officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Caldwell County.
Corley passed away Aug. 22, 2002 at Princeton Healthcare Manor.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet Sheffield Young of Lynchburg, Va.; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Cuff
Mary Joan Cuff, 69, of Marion, passed away Aug. 21, 2002 at Western Baptist Hospital. Funeral services were held Aug. 25 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Chaplain Sue Carol Oathout officiating. Burial was in Richmond Cemetery in Richmond, Ky.
She is survived by her husband, Noel Cuff of Marion; a son, Noel Adam Cuff of Germany; three daughters, Rose Mary Leinhauser of Bayertown, Pa., Julie Triplett of Rocky Ridge, Md., and Edith Blankenbiller of Adamstown, Pa.; three brothers, John Cruce, Don Cruce and Whitt Cruce, all of Indiana; her mother, Evelyn Cruce of Crayne; and four grandchildren.

Price
NEW CASTLE, Va. - Roy Lee Price, 76, passed away Aug. 7, 2002 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Surviving are his wife, Lucille Newcom Price of New Castle; a brother, Ray Price of New Castle; a sister, Connie Wilson of Boones Mill; a son, Roy Lee Price, Jr., of Richmond; three daughters, Linda Gail Anders of Christiansburg, Tina Newby of New Castle and Theresa Price of New Castle; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial were Aug. 10 in New Castle.
Travis
FREDONIA, Ky. Mickey L. Travis, 29, passed away Aug. 20, 2002 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. He was a member of Seven Springs Baptist Church.
Surviving are his mother, Regina Matthews of Kuttawa; his father, Dennis Travis of Marion; his stepfather, Marlin Patton of Fredonia; his stepmother, Nancy Kemper Travis of Marion; and stepfather, Marlin Patton of Marion; his grandmother, Ruth Travis of Frances; his grandparents, Denver and Lola Mae Patton of Fredonia; a brother, Matthew Patton of Norristown, Penn.; a sister, Jennifer Patton of Paducah; and his fiancee, Tamara Sisco of Marion.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Marty Ann Travis and Marsha Jo Travis; his grandparents, Rudy and Jean Matthews; and his grandfather, Oliver Travis.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Aug. 22 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Howton officiating. Burial was in Dycusburg Cemetery.
Owen
WEST PADUCAH, Ky. - George F. Owen, 64, passed away Aug. 19, 2002 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah. He was a sales manager for Lumberteria.
Surviving are his wife, Rugena M. Owen of West Paducah; two sons, Brett Owen of Burna and George Brent Owen of Reidland; two daughters, Kelly Johnson of Paducah and Karla Lawrence of West Paducah; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Washington Owen and Garnet Alta Jackson Owen.
Funeral services were held Aug. 21 at Boyd Funeral Home with David Cassidy officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Newcom
BENTON, Ky. - Funeral services for Katherine Newcom, 88, formerly of Sturgis, were held Aug. 19, 2002 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Phillips and Rev. Jimmy Porter officiated. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Newcom passed away Aug. 17, 2002 at Marshall County Hospital.
Surviving are a daughter, Verna Lee York of Benton; a sister, Bernice Woodall of Evansville; two brothers, Percy Belt and Edwin Belt, both of Marion; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Newcom; two sons, Edwin Newcom and Danny Newcom; nine brothers; and her parents, Bernice and Roy L. Belt.
Lawrence
HAMPTON, Ky. - J.W. Lawrence, 74, of Hampton, passed away Aug. 18, 2002 at Livingston Hospital. Funeral services were held Aug. 21 at Boyd Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Phillips and Bro. Mac Dossett officiating. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Ann E. Lawrence of Hampton; two daughters, Becky Croft of Salem and Connie Suits of Joy; a brother, Wilburn Lawrence of Chicago; two sisters, Alice Mattingly of Carrsville and Margaret Edwards of Paducah; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. His parents were George and Martha Robinson Lawrence.
Floyd
Funeral services for Randy L. Floyd, 47, were held Aug. 21, 2002 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating.
Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery. Floyd drowned while boating on the Ohio River.
Surviving are his wife, Debbie Floyd of Marion; a son, Stephen Floyd of Marion; two brothers, Mike Floyd of Murray and Kenneth Floyd of Marion; and a grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother, David Floyd; and his parents, Ralph and Erma Floyd.
Taylor
OLDHAM CO., Ky. - Eddie Ray Taylor, 69, formerly of Madisonville, passed away Aug. 2, 2002. He was a member of V.F.W. Am. Vets, and he was retired from General Motors' Chicago plant after 20 years of service. He graduated with the Class of 1951 at Providence High School and served four years in the U.S. Air Force.
Surviving are a daughter, Phyllis Abel of Velpen, Ind.; a sister, Joyce Gardner of Marion; and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hanley and Myrtle Taylor.
Funeral services were held Aug. 5 at Townsend-Jones Funeral Home in Providence with Rev. Robert Phillips and Rev. David Frisby officiating. Burial was in White Oak Cemetery near Providence.
