MARION, Ky. - Anna Marie Shull, 90, formerly of Atwater, Ohio, passed away Aug. 11, 2002 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center. She moved to Kentucky in 1997 to live with her granddaughter, Donna Knox.
She is survived by two sisters, Gladys Unger of Salem and Mary Locklay of Marion; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Rufus Dudley Shull; a son, Robert Eugene Shull; her parents; and many brothers and sisters.
Cardwell
CHICAGO, Ill. - James Robert Cardwell, 33, passed away Aug. 9, 2002 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Ill.
Surviving are his mother and step father of Marion, Donna and Jay Barnes; a sister, Amy Cardwell of Marion; a grandmother, Lillie Jane Cummings of Henderson; and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Robert Cardwell.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Aug. 17 at Clay Cemetery in Geneva, Ky., with Rev. William Schwartz officiating.
Benton-Glunt Funeral Home in Henderson was in charge of arrangements.
Nalley
MORGANFIELD, Ky. - Funeral services for Joshua Todd Nalley, 20, will be held at 11 a.m., Aug. 15 at Whitesell Funeral Home in Morganfield with Rev. Don Collins and Rev. Kenneth Crase officiating. Burial will be in Old Bethel Cemetery in Union County.
Nalley passed away Aug. 11, 2002 at St. Mary Medical Center in Evansville from injuries he suffered in a four-wheeler accident.
He was a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church and a 2000 graduate of Union County High School. He was employed by Rayloc in Morganfield.
He is survived by his parents, Eugene and Nita Nalley of Morganfield; his grandparents, Carl and Janie Ray of Marion and Lafayette and Martina Nalley of Sturgis; a brother, Craig Nalley of Morganfield; and a niece.
Memorial contributions may be made to Old Bethel Cemetery.
Horton
CORYDON, Ky. - Funeral services for Joseph Horton, Sr., 44, were held Aug. 14 at Whitsell Funeral Home with burial in Uniontown City Cemetery.
Horton's body was discovered Aug. 11, 2002 in Henderson County.
A mechanic, Horton is survived by two daughters, Kara Fox of Morganfield and April Henderson of Henderson; a sister, Patricia Langston of Morganfield; two brothers, Jack Horton, Jr., and Robert Horton of Corydon; his parents, Pat and Jack Horton of Corydon; his ex-wife, Susan Markham of Marion; and two stepdaughters, Christina Lee and Misty Markham, both of Marion.
Parish
KUTTAWA, Ky. - Funeral services for Allison Parish, 16, were held Aug. 9, 2002 at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville.
Rev. Steve McVay and Rev. Bou Bouser officiated.
Burial was in Providence Cemetery in Lyon County.
Parish passed away from injuries suffered in a car accident on the Purchase Parkway in Marshall County.
Parish was a junior at Lyon County High School, a member of Fairview United Methodist Church in Lyon County and was employed by Hardee's in Eddyville.
Surviving are her parents, David and Jeri Downey Parish of Kuttawa; a brother, Ryan Parish at home; her maternal grandmother, Christine Downey of Lyon County; her paternal grandmother, Goldia Parish of Lyon County; her fiance, Joshua Morton of Benton; and several aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Claude Downey and her paternal grandfather, Virgil Parish.

Baker
EDDYVILLE, Ky. - Charline Baker, 85, passed away Aug. 8, 2002 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah. Funeral services were held Aug. 10 at Lakeland Funeral Home with Rev. Steve McVay officiating. Burial was in New Bethel Cemetery.
Baker was a homemaker and member of Hebron Baptist Church in Lyon County.
Surviving are a daughter, Doris Kilgore of Eddyville; two brothers, Marvin Davenport of Paducah and Billie Davenport of Laramie, Wyo.; a sister, Sonia Guess of Marion; and one granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Floyd Baker; a brother, Clifford Davenport; a sister, Jean Story; and her parents, Ogle Davenport and Mamie Mitchell Davenport.
Downs
CADIZ, Ky. - Clara Sue Downs, 63, formerly of Madisonville, passed away Aug. 3, 2002 at Hilltop Nursing Home.
A homemaker and member of the Bible Baptist Church in Cadiz, Croft was also a former teacher at Madisonville Grace Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband of 42 years, Pastor Gordon Downs of Cadiz; a daughter, Shannon Seaton of Slaughters; a son, Barry Downs of Cunningham; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Aug. 6 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Adams, Pastor Bob Gish and Pastor Randall Farmer officiating. Burial was in Springdale Cemetery in Sebree.
Her parents were Wayne Thompson and Hazel Troutman Thompson.
Hurley
Kenneth W. Hurley, 55, of Marion, passed away July 29, 2002 at his home. He was a duel member and past master of Salem Masonic Lodge No. 81 and Dycusburg Masonic Lodge No. 232. He was also a member of Marion Chapter 135 Order of the Eastern Star. He worked 17 years at the Earl C. Clements Job Corps in Morganfield, retiring in 1993.
Surviving are his wife, Vilaine Hamby Hurley of Marion; a daughter, Kim Ringstaff of Salem; a son, Kevin Hurley of Marion; a stepson, Brad Tinsley of Marion; a brother, Billy Hurley of Lexington; four grandchildren; and two nieces.
His parents were Troy Allen Hurley and Leona Hughes Hurley.
Funeral services were held July 30 at Boyd Funeral Home with Bro. Frank McCallum officiating. Burial was in Carrsville Cemetery.
