James Flanary, 90, of Marion, passed away June 11, 2002 at Salem Springlake Care Center. He was head lockmaster for the Corp of Engineers for 27 years.
Surviving are his wife, Ordrie Flanary of Marion; three sons, David Allen Flanary of Fredonia, Samuel W. Flanary of Evansville and James Douglas Flanary of Paducah; a stepdaughter, Edith Harris of Marion; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; and a step grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Effie Flanary. His parents were Samuel D. and Margaret Flanary.
Funeral services were held June 14 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Dunn Springs Cemetery.
Hedge
Graveside services for Wilma J. Hedge, 87, of Marion, were held June 15, 2002 at Wildwood Cemetery in Vincennes, Ind.
Hedge, a member of Indiana Presbyterian Church in Vincennes, passed away June 12 at Salem Springlake Care Center.
Surviving are a daughter, Helen Angela Riley of Marion; a sister, Esther Kerns of Vincennes, Ind.; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Hedge; her parents, William B. and Ethel Atkinson; a sister; and a brother.

Head
SALEM, Ky. - Molly "Marie" Head, 89, passed away June 15, 2002 at her home. She was a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband of 63 years, William Hayden Head of Salem; two daughters, Janet Orenduff of Smithland and Karen Downs of Burna; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother; a sister; and a grandson. Her parents were Russell and Melissa Wells Poindexter.
Funeral services were held June 18 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. E.J. Hatton. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.
Vinson
Imogene Vinson, 65, passed away June 17, 2002 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
She was a member and Sunday school teacher of Sugar Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors are her mother, Mary Hunt of Marion; a daughter, Melissa Gilland of Marion; a son, Jackie Don Hunt of Marion; a stepson, Chris Vinson of Nashville; two sisters, Martha Keeling and Maudie Summers, both of Marion; a brother, Wayne Hunt of Sturgis; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Elbert Hunt; and her husband, Luther Wayne Vinson.
Funeral services were held June 19 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Frank McCallum officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Hodge
Charlene Hodge, 63, of Marion, passed away June 18, 2002 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., June 20 at Gilbert Funeral Home with burial in Dunn Springs Cemetery.
Hodge is survived by her husband, James D. Hodge of Marion; two daughters, Linda Charlene Gilbert of Bossier City, La., and Kimberly Ann Buell of Marion; two sisters, Linda Allen and Nell Pleasant of Dyersburg, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ila and Albert Atchison; a son, William E. Atchison; two sisters; and a brother.
Dunbar
Betty Dean Dunbar, 69, of Marion, passed away June 9, 2002 at her home. She worked for 35 years at Crittenden County Convalescent Center and was of Baptist faith.
Surviving are her mother, Mary Babb; three daughters, Sheila Binkley and Rosemary Dunbar, both of Marion, and Janice Harris of Salem; a son, Johnny Ray Dunbar of Benton; a brother, Ronnie Babb of Elizabethtown; a sister, Sue Belt of Marion; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Dunbar; a sister, Edna Travis; and her father, Clay Jennings.
Funeral services were held June 12 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips and Rev. Billy Baker officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Providence.

Sliger
VALPARAISO, Ind.. - Robert Neal Sliger, 69, of Owensboro, passed away June 6, 2002. A native of Marion, Sliger retired in 1987 from U.S. Steel Gary Works Tube Mill after 35 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Miriam Maki Sliger; two sons, Robert Neal Sliger, Jr., of Lake Station, Ind., and Kenneth R. Sliger of Portage, Ind.; a daughter, Anita Marlene Murray of Portage; three brothers, Louis Sliger of Owensboro, Alfred Sliger of Portage and Kenneth Sliger of Smyrna, Tenn.; six sisters, Mildred Niemi of Lillian, Ala., Georgia Hodge and Kaye Glore, both of Marion, Betty Pohlman of Grandview, Mo., and Roberta Cash and Faye Hamby, both of Memphis; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Services were held June 8 at Moeller Funeral Home in Valparaiso. Burial was in McCool Cemetery in Portage.
Godman
SALEM, Ky. William "Pee Wee" Godman, 57, passed away June 1, 2002 at Livingston Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Godman; a son, Glenn Godman of Grand Rivers; three daughters, Gelaine Jones of Salem, Angie McDaniel of Marion and Dawn Fowler of Kuttawa; a sister, Connie Williams of Marion; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lemma Louise Belt Adam; and a brother, Bobby Joe Godman.
Funeral services were held June 3 at Ambassadors for Christ Church in Marion with Rev. Howard Jones and Rev. Kenny Downs officiating. Burial was in Whites Chapel Cemetery. Boyd Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Damron
SALEM, Ky. Ruby Lee Damron, 81, passed away May 31, 2002 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center.
She is survived by a son, Gary Damron of Houston; a sister, Virginia Bowen of Salem; a brother, Paul Stalion of Salem; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan Damron; a brother; a sister; her parents, Doy Stalion and Mary McKinney Stalion; and her stepmother, Ola Stalion.
Funeral services were held June 3 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Walzie Hosick officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.
