Nina May McDaniel, 85, of Marion, passed away May 26, 2002 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center.
She is survived by five sisters, Muriel Belt of Salem, Sara Curnel of Marion, Pearl Wagoner of Reidland, Gracey Belt of Arkansas and Arla Givens of Carrsville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel McDaniel; her parents, Sam Curnel and Jennie Sullenger Curnel; two brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral services were held May 28 at Boyd Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Whites Chapel Cemetery.
Barnes
Peggy Barnes, 62, of Marion, passed away May 22, 2002 at Crittenden Hospital. Funeral services were held May 24 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. David Davis officiating. Burial was in Rosebud Cemetery.
Surviving are two sisters, Katherine Brantley of Marion and George Ray Cullen of Sturgis.
Sullenger
HOBART, Ind. - Jesse L. Sullenger, 74, of Hobart, Ind., passed away May 18, 2002. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a retired line operator from U.S. Steel after 36 years. He served as a member of U.S.W.A. Union Local No. 1066.
He is survived by two sons, Rick Sullenger of Valparaiso, Ind., and James Sullenger of Hobart; five daughters, Connie Goodpaster of Lake Station, Ind., Vonnie Fields of Valparaiso, Rhonda Perrine of Portage, Ind., Pam Govert of Crown Point, Ind., and Beverly Galle of Hobart; a brother, Douglas Sullenger of Marion; a sister, Elizabeth Binkley of Valparaiso; 14 grand-children; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma Sullenger; three brothers; and five sisters.
Funeral services were held May 21 at Rees Funeral Home in Hobart, with burial in Calumet Park Cemetery.
Harris
Ronnie Dale Harris, 48, of Marion, passed away May 26, 2002 at Crittenden Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Edith Harris of Marion; a daughter, Kimberly Harris of Marion; two sisters, Linda Wetherington of Paducah and Brenda Perrin of Carrsville; a nephew and two nieces; and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer "Toby" Harris and Louise Harris; and a sister.
Funeral services were held May 29 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

BRUNSWICK, Ga. - Ernest Edward Franks, 59, formerly of Marion, passed away May 25, 2002 at Georgia Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, Verlie Frank of Brunswick; two daughters, Rita Ann Franks of Thornton, Colo., and Heather Marie Franks of Brunswick; his parents, Ernest Lilbert and Laura Melby Franks; and a brother, David Franks of Portland, Ore.
Graveside services will be held May 30 at Mt. Zion Cemetery with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Gilbert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Howard
Fayle Joyce Howard, 72, of Marion, passed away May 27, 2002 at her home.
She was a member of Sugar Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Shelby M. Howard of Marion; five daughters, Sonja Howard of Nashville, Cassandra Jacobs of Owenton, Ky., Sheila Foster of Rochester, NY, Elaine Adkins of Grey Lake, Ill., and Alicia Clark of Marion; two sisters, Beulah Morris of Michigan City, Ind., and Gaynelle Pinkerton of Lynch, Ky.; three sons-in-law, Brad Foster of Rochester, NY, Dennis Adkins of Grey Lake, Ill., and Vince Clark of Marion; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Mary Ida Mae Price; and a brother, Stanley Price.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., May 30 at Sugar Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Frank McCallum officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.
Rushing
Bobby Joe Rushing, 50, of Marion, passed away May 28, 2002 at Livingston Hospital. He was a member of Union Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., May 31 at Boyd Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Phillips and Bro. Jerry Thurman officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Kim Rushing of Marion; his mother and step-father, Bobbie Jean and Fred Ramage of Marion; a son, Tommy Wayne Rushing of Louisville; two daughters, Penny Jo Phillips of Eddyville and Brandi Nicole Rushing of Marion; a brother, Mark A. Ramage of Marion; and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe E. Rushing; and a brother, Tim Ramage.
Norman
Jim Norman, 67, of Marion, passed away May 9, 2002 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a member of Salem Church of Christ and construction and fund raising volunteer for Habitat for Humanity in Crittenden County.
Norman is survived by his wife, June Norman of Marion; two sons, Mike Norman of Gardner, Kansas and Jerry Norman of Lees Summit, Mo.; two daughters, Melinda Fraser of Roeland Park, Kansas and Melissa French of Kansas City, Kansas; two brothers, Keith Norman of Kiowa, Okla., and Mark Norman of Evansville; a sister, Ina Mae Little of Marion; two stepsons, Richard Driver of Ledbetter and Keith Driver of Marion; a stepdaughter, Donna Driver of Jolton, Tenn.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held May 13 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Bill McCormick and Rev. Buddy Hix officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.

MADISONVILLE, Ky. -Bernice Mills, 80, of Marion, passed away May 18, 2002 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
Surviving are three brothers, Vernon Mills of Marion, Everett Mills of San Antonio, Texas and William Mills of El Paso, Texas.
Graveside services were held May 21 at Mapleview Cemetery with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Gilbert Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Smith
MADISONVILLE, Ky. - W.G. Smith, 77, of Caldwell County, passed away May 15, 2002 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. He was a retired coal miner and member of Beech Grove General Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Smith; a son, Larry G. Smith of Caldwell County; two daughters, Donna Hibbs of Webster County and Sandra Grider of Louisville; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Aninell Howton; and his parents, McKinley and Emma Bell Holeman Smith.
Funeral services were held at Morgan's Funeral Home May 18 with Rev. Barry Cullen officiating. Burial was in Beech Grove Church Cemetery.
