SMYRNA, Tenn. - Harold Rudell Jackson, 61, formerly of Marion, passed away April 19, 2002 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.
Funeral services were held April 21 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn R. Jackson of Smyrna; a daughter, Melissa Medders of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a son, William R. Jackson of Smyrna; two brothers, Kenny Jackson and Alvie Jackson, both of Marion; a sister, Ina Talley of Portage, Ind.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Eugene Jackson; and two brothers.
Bebout
SALEM, Ky. - Harry Crawford Bebout, 88, passed away April 19, 2002 at Livingston Hospital.
Funeral services were held April 22 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Fouts and Rev. Herbert Alexander officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.
Bebout was a Kentucky Colonel and a retired member of Pipefitter Union No. 155, to which he belonged for 35 years. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Salem.
Surviving are his wife, Lois E. Bebout of Salem; a daughter, Glenda F. Wojtan of Canton, Mich.; two sisters, Lena Belt of Marion and Lucille Fisher of Florida; a brother, Ross Bebout of Calvert City; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna R. Wilson; a brother, Cecil Bebout; and four sisters, Ruby Croft, Ethel Loyd, Edith Nation and Marie Franklin.
Vaughn
BURNA, Ky. - Funeral services for Elva May Vaughn, 98, were held April 20 at Boyd Funeral Home.
Bro. Albert Robison, Bro. Dennis Wynn and Bro. Jerry Thurman officiated. Burial was in Old Salem Cemetery.
Surviving are a daughter, Dorothy Wilson of Burna; two sons, Bobby Vaughn of Paducah and Harold Vaughn of Lexington; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Vaughn; two sons, Alfred Vaughn and Clifford Vaughn; a grandson, Terry Wilson; and two brothers. Her parents were Greg May and Ida McElmurry May.
Ford
Donald Ford, 62, of Marion, passed away April 21, 2002 at Crittenden Hospital. Funeral services were held April 24 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Entombment was in Crooked Creek Cemetery.
A member of Dunn Springs Baptist Church, Ford was a 21-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving three tours in Vietnam. He was a member of Laborers Local No. 561 of Evansville.
Surviving are his wife, Sherry Ford of Marion; five sons, Zac Ford and Will Ford, both of Marion; and Jeff Ford, Jason Ford and Joel Ford, all of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a sister, Marlene Duffy of Flemingsburg; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angel Louise Ford; a sister; a brother; and his parents, Byrl and Iva Ford.
Weber
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Bernard J. Weber, 84, of Bowling Green, passed away April 12, 2002. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, VFW Post No. 1298 and a Crittenden County hunting lodge.
He served in World War II as a Staff Sgt. with the Army Air Corp.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Thelma Weber of Bowling Green; three daughters, Janice Weber of Louisville, Sandra Miller of Bowling Green and Patricia Weber of Sacramento, Calif; a son, Kenneth Weber of Glasgow; two stepsons, Michel Lamb of Mt. Pleasant, Mich., and Mark Cresol of Meredith, NH; a sister, Mildred Herrick of Greenwood, Wisc.; a brother, John P. Weber of Rio Linda, Calif; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Veronica Jonovic Weber; a son, Joseph Weber; and his parents, Louis and Anna Wauseca Weber.
Funeral services were held April 15 at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Chapel with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Bowling Green.
Markham
STURGIS, Ky. - Funeral services for John R. Markham, 76, were held April 16 a Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis. Rev. Jeff Bullock officiated. Burial was in Pythian Ridge Cemetery near Sturgis.
Markham, who served in World War II and Korea, passed away April 13, 2002 at his home. He was a member of the VFW and Sturgis First Christian Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Gass of Crittenden County and Carol Ann Markham of Louisville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Markham.
Rundles
GRAND RIVERS, Ky. - Graveside services for Alexis Denae Rundles, infant daughter of J.R. and Melissa Crump Rundles of Grand Rivers, were held April 13 at Landrum Cemetery in Grand Rivers. Rev. Roger Rice officiated.
The infant passed away April 10, 2002 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a half-sister, Kelsey Lee Baker Rundles of Benton; her grandparents, Wanda and Charles Crump and Thomas and Lou Rundles, all of Benton, and Mike and Teresa Sauvage of Smithland; her great-grandparents, Fred and Loraine Manship of Auburn, Ill., Alma Crump of Virden, Ill., Joan Hughes of Dycusburg and Elizabeth Owsley of Michigan; her great-great grandmother, Mary Koltveit of Pontiac, Ill.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Aubrey Leigh Rundles.
Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah was in charge of arrangements.
Reynolds
SMITHLAND, Ky. - Former Smithland mayor and fire chief Lee Reynolds, 72, passed away April 13, 2002 at Western Baptist Hospital.
Funeral services were held April 15 at Smith Funeral Chapel in Smithland with Rev. Billy Hurley officiating. Burial was in Smithland Cemetery.
Reynolds was a veteran of the Korean War and was owner and operator of Reynolds Grocery for several years. He was Smithland mayor from 1986-1989 and worked for the Smithland Fire Department for 60 years. He was chief for 15 years. He was a member of Scott's Chapel Church and Smithland Masonic Lodge No. 138 for 42 years.
Surviving are two sons, Tony Ferrell of Tiline and Dewayne Ferrell of Smithland; four sisters, Imogene Reid of Reidland, Alberta Jackson of Waukegan, Ill., Ann Barrett of Kuttawa and Sue Outland of Murray; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Reynolds. His parents were Edward and Hattie Reynolds.
Hall
SMITHLAND, Ky. - Jessie L. Hall, 74, passed away April 15, 2002 at his home.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy P. Hall of Smithland; a brother, Dencil Hall of Smithland; a stepdaughter, Mary Gordy of Macon, Ga.; a stepson, Bill Jackson of Marion; eight step-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters. His parents were Lesslie Hall and Verna Cosby Hall.
Funeral services were held April 17 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Reeves officiating. burial was in McMurray Chapel Cemetery.
