MAYFIELD, Ky. - Edna Corring Epley, 87, passed away April 4, 2002 at Mills Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mayfield and a housewife.
Surviving are a daughter, Claudene Leet of Mayfield; a son, Harry Dean Epley of Marion; a stepson, Bobby Epley of West Plains, Mo.; two sisters, Katherine Champion of Marion and Dora McKinney of Princeton; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Nathaniel Epley; four grandchildren, Todd Epley, Lee Epley, Molly Leet and Christopher Leet; two sisters, Alice Fowler and Ruby Fowler; three brothers, James Fowler, Audry Fowler and Henry Fowler; and her parents, George Walter and Molly Beatrice Glore Fowler.
Funeral services were held April 6 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Doom
EDDYVILLE, Ky. - Leroy Doom, 83, passed away April 7, 2002 at Hilltop Nursing Home in Kuttawa.
He was a retired salesman for Akridge Farm Supply and was a self-employed farmer. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Fredonia.
Funeral services were held April 10 at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville with Rev. David Frambro, Dr. Jerrell White, Rev. Kenneth Morris and Rev. Mike Morris. Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery in Lyon County.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Ruth Kingston Doom; four sons, Charles Doom of Smyrna, Tenn., Donald Doom of Kuttawa, Anthony Doom of Reidsville, N.C., and Darrell Doom of Hopkinsville; a daughter, Jane Lois Baker of Fredonia; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Dean Doom; four brothers, Earl Doom, Lannie Doom, Herbert Doom and Doyle Doom; two sisters, Mary Hammonds and Louise Brown. His parents were Charles Anderson Doom and Elizabeth Josephine Walters Doom.

York
Lemma Mae York, 87, of Marion, passed away April 9, 2002 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., April 11 at Gilbert Funeral Home with burial in Mexico Cemetery.
Survivors include a son, James M. York of Marion; three sisters, Nell Linzy of Sturgis, Pearl George and Eva Nell Ramage of Salem; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Harris
SALEM, Ky. - Joseph William Harris, 79, passed away April 8, 2002 at his home.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 81 in Salem, served 22 years in the U.S. Army and was of Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Bernice E. Harris of Salem; a son, Mark Harris of Salem; a daughter, Ginger Durst of Chicago; a stepdaughter, Beverly Sirls of Benton; a brother, Jack Harris of Florida; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Greg Harris; a sister, Katherine Belt; two brothers, George Harris and Jay Harris; and his parents, Homer Harris and Flora Vole Harris.
Funeral services were held April 10 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. John East officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.
Belt
Roy Leslie Belt, 53, of Marion, passed away March 30, 2002 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a member of Hurricane Church.
Surviving are a son, Leslie Kyle Belt of Marion; his stepmother, Ruby Belt of Marion; a brother, Phillip Belt of Marion; two sisters, Dorothea Hodge and Anna Rae Porter, both of Marion; two stepbrothers, Bill Rice of Greenville, S.C., and Robert Rice of Marion.
Funeral services were held April 2 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Porter and Sis. Lucy Tedrick officiating. Burial was in Hurricane Cemetery.
Rhem
Margaret W. Rhem, 90, of Marion, passed away March 28, 2002 at Salem Springlake Care Center.
She was librarian of the Crittenden County Public Library for 17 years and was a Kentucky Colonel.
She was the oldest member of First Presbyterian Church in Marion where she was an elder.
Surviving are a daughter, Peggy Howton of Marion; a son, James L. Rhem of Madison, Wis.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Rhem. Her parents were Dr. Louie F. and Margaret Waters.
Funeral services were held March 31 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Morrow officiating. Burial was in Fredonia Cemetery.
Heilman
SALEM, Ky. - Funeral services for Eula Marie Heilman, 86, were held March 31 at Boyd Funeral Home. She passed away March 28, 2002 at Livingston Hospital.
Surviving are two daughters, Marie Whitworth of Salem and Jeanette Jones of Lola; four sons, Donald Robinson of Michigan, Ralph Heilman of Tinley Park, Ill., Albert Heilman of Chicago and Charles Heilman of Evansville; a sister, Mary McKeone of St. Charles; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Heilman, Sr.; a son, Vincent Heilman, Jr.; a daughter, Joanne Heilman; 12 brothers; and two sisters. Her parents were Bess Davis and Eda Teegarden Davis.
Funeral services were held March 31 at Boyd Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Whites Chapel Cemetery.
Boone
Larry Dale Boone, 52, of Marion, passed away March 29, 2002 at Livingston Hospital.
Surviving are his mother, Jewel M. Penn of Marion; a stepfather, Orbin Penn, of Marion; a son, Randy Boone of Marion; three sisters, Vera Riley, Nancy Smith and Donna Lester, all of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon L. Boone; and a brother, Morris Boone.
Funeral services were held April 1 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Herbert Alexander officiating. Burial was in Caldwell Springs Cemetery.

Katherine R. Love, 81, of Marion, passed away March 29, 2002 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center. She was a member of Marion Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, William Love of Port Orange, Fla.; two sisters, Edna Stallions and Georgia Taylor, both of Salem; and three grandchildren.
