SALEM, Ky. - Mitchell Brannam, 53, passed away March 30, 2002 at his home. He was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church.
Surviving are his mother, Martha Brannam of Salem; two daughters, Sharon Reed of Smithland and Tammy Reed of Marion; a son, Gary Brannam of Bardwell; three brothers, Clifton Brannam of Arkansas, Monroe Brannam and Ronnie Brannam, both of Illinois; two sisters, Golda Riley of Marion and Kay Gorman of Illinois; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Brannam; and a son, Leon Brannam.
Funeral services were held April 1 at Boyd Funeral Home with Max Hansen and Joel Cox officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.
McClure
Rugina McClure, 55, of Marion, passed away April 2, 2002 at Salem Springlake Care Center.
Surviving are two daughters, Margie Lanham of Marion and Paula Berry of Salem; two sons, Vernon McClure of Italy and Bruce McClure of Marion; her mother, Sarah Curnel of Marion; three brothers, Junior Curnel, Paul Curnel and Russell Curnel; two sisters, Phyllis Deore and Hazel Vasseur; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Curnel; and a brother, Eddie Curnel.
Funeral services were held April 3 at Boyd Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Whites Chapel Cemetery.
Dickerson
PADUCAH, Ky. - Eugene W. Dickerson, 70, passed away March 21, 2002 at Western Baptist Hospital. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Dyer Hill Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Geraldine Belt Dickerson of Paducah; two daughters, Ann Dickerson Quinn of Hopkinsville and Diana Dickerson Hall of Washington, D.C.; a son, Dan Dickerson of Cadiz; a brother, Wilford Dickerson of Decatur, Ill.; two stepsons, Robert Sanders and Ricky Sanders, both of Paducah; two stepdaughters, Tammy Sanders of Paducah and Penney Theurer of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a nephew, Gary Dickerson. His parents were Raymond John Dickerson and Maggie Elizabeth Mitchell Dickerson.
Funeral services were held at Boyd Funeral Home March 23 with Jim Lee officiating. Burial was in Maplelawn Cemetery in Paducah.
Lawrence
SALEM, Ky. - Funeral services for Gracey Evelyn Croft Lawrence, 86, were held March 22, 2002 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Sanders and Bro. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Lola Cemetery
Lawrence passed away March 20, 2002 at Crittenden Hospital.
Survivors include two daughters, Christine Nelms of Lola and Geneva Williams of Marion; a brother, Doug Croft of Wyo.; several stepchildren; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Whitsell
CLAY, Ky. - Marlin Edward Whitsell, 87, passed away March 24, 2002 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. He was retired from the Kentucky State Highway Department.
Surviving are his cousin and caregiver, Ruth Lee Whitsell of Clay; three nephews and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gussie and James T. Whitsell.
Funeral services were held March 26 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Rosebud Cemetery.
Croft
PADUCAH, Ky. - Nona Maxine Croft, 76, passed away March 24, 2002 at Western Baptist Hospital. Funeral services were held March 27 at Boyd Funeral Home with Max Hanson officiating. Burial was in Hampton Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Gery Martin of Paducah and Kenneth Martin of Princeton; two sisters, Wanita Quertermous and Eulene Lanham, both of Paducah; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Allen Croft; a son, Dexter Martin; a grandson, Gery Wayne Martin; four brothers; and her parents, Clayton Radcliff and Oda Quertermous Radcliff.
Croft
SALEM, Ky. - Carnella James Croft, 84, passed away March 26, 2002 at Salem Springlake Care Center.
She was a Burna native and member of Old Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, James A. Croft of Ledbetter; a sister, Willa Graham of Ledbetter; a brother, Rudell James of Raceland, Ky.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Croft; and a brother, Marvin James. Her parents were Horace James and Cordie Meeks James.
Funeral services will be held March 28 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Thurman and Dr. Jerry Howard officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.
Sherer
TOLU, Ky. - Daryl Sherer, 43, passed away March 27, 2002 at Crittenden Hospital.
He is survived by his mother, Anna Hayes Sherer of Tolu; four sons, Derek Sherer of Salem, Brandon Sherer of Smithland and T.J. and Barrett Sherer, both of Jasper, Ala.; a daughter, Natosha Sherer of Jasper; and a grandson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Sherer.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., March 29 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Porter officiating.
Burial will be in Whites Chapel Cemetery.
Pfunder
Orville Pfunder, 88, of Marion, passed away March 17, 2002 at Crittenden Hospital. He was instrumental in helping start the Little League Baseball program in Marion.
He is survived by a cousin, Lloyd Furlong of Highland, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Annabelle Pfunder.
Graveside services were held March 20 at Mapleview Cemetery with Rev. David Winders officiating.
