Kentucky Marriage Records by County

Hickey
Edward Pete Hickey Jr., 79. passed away Friday, March 21, 2003 at Crittenden Hospital.

He was a member of Marion Baptist Church, lifetime member of VFW Post 1913 - Hopkinsville, retired superintendent of Crittenden County Schools, a salesman for Apex Chemical and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his wife, Emma Hickey of Marion; two brothers, Tom Hickey and Bill Hickey, both of Hopkinsville; and four sisters, Madiline McMasters, Mary Damron, Helen Poole and Janice Gerbo, all of Hopkinsville.

He was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Hickey, and two sisters. His parents were Edward Pete Hickey Sr. and Ethel Hickey.

Funeral was Monday, March 24 at Gilbert Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Giltner and the Rev. Darrell Clarke officiating. Burial was in Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Hopkinsville with military rites by VFW Post 1913.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Marion Baptist Church Life Center, 1312 E. Depot Street, Marion, KY 42064.

Patton
Dottie S. Patton, 67, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, March 18 at her home.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Patton; a son, Ricky Patton; two daughters, Shelia Wilkinson of Marion and Melissa Asbridge of Salem; four sisters, Betty Glenn of Fredonia, Loisteen Canada of Princeton, Thelma Brown of Marion and Ella Mae Belt of Elizabethtown; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Patton; and four brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 21 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Dycusburg Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Lourdes Hospice, 2855 Jackson Street, Paducah, KY 42003; or to the American Cancer Society, 130 E. Mound Park, Marion, KY 42064.

Mills
Vernon M. Mills, 81, of Marion, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2003 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah. He was a member of Marion United Methodist Church.

Mr. Mills was preceded in death by his wife, Aretta Mills, and a sister.

Survivors include two brothers, Williams Mills of El Paso, Texas, Everett Mills of San Antonio, Texas; three nieces, Marilyn Baggett of Madisonville, Carolyn Shorter of Sumter, S.C. and Jane Tinsley of Marion; and several great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Services were Sunday, March 16 at Gilbert Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Phillips and the Rev. Wayne Garvey officiating, followed by burial at Mapleview Cemetery.

Armstrong
Laddie W. Armstrong, 50, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, March 18. He was a member of American Legion Post 111 in Marion, a long-time co-owner of Marion Body Shop and a former deputy sheriff.

Surviving are his wife, Agnes Armstrong of Marion; a son, Tracy Armstrong of Marion; a brother, Gary Armstrong of Marion; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandchild.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 21 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Dr. Darrell Clarke officiating. Burial will be in Love Cemetery.

Hanor
MADISONVILLE -­ Charles Marlin Hanor, 67, of Madisonville, passed away Monday, March 17, 2003 at his home.

He retired as superintendent of Kyler Bridge Construction in Cadiz. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and attended First Church of God Church in Madisonville.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Shirley Holdman Hanor of Madisonville; three daughters, Pamela Kaylor of Columbus, Ohio, Dianna Hohimer and Kristy Ables, both of Madisonville; two sisters, Sharon Clark of Clay and Jean Henderson of Evansville, Ind.; five brothers, Bayne Hanor, Dony Hanor and Michael Hanor, all of Marion, Frank Hanor of Clay and Darrell David Hanor of Morganfield; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were Wednesday, March 19 at Vanover Funeral Home in Clay, followed by burial in New Clay Cemetery.

The family requests memorials take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.

Board
FREDONIA -­ Sharon Sue Board, 54, of Fredonia, passed away Wednesday, March 12 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah following a short illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Board. Her parents were Arnold and Mamie Davis Lane.

She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Reece of Caldwell County; one granddaughter, Tiffany Reece; two sisters, Shirley Sawyer of Taylor, Mich., and Sandy Ward of Caldwell County; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were Saturday, March 15 at Morgan Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Faughn, followed by burial at Leech Cemetery in Caldwell County.

Osborne
EDDYVILLE - ­ Nora Osborne, 67, of Eddyville, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2003 at Caldwell County Hospital in Princeton.

A housewife, she attended Reidland Church of Christ in Reidland.

Survivors include her husband, John W. Osborne of Eddyville; four sons, John Osborne Jr. and Robert Osborne, both of Kuttawa, Don Osborne of Eddyville, Jeffery Osborne of Virginia Beach, Va., one daughter, Cheryl Travis of Lyon County; one stepson, Buddy Osborne of Boise, Idaho; one stepdaughter, JoAnn Wallace of Marion; one brother, Vick Wilson of Evansville, Ind.; five sisters, Jean Hendrick, Violet Davidson, Sue Case, Juanita Phelps, all of Evansville, Flo Smith of Wink, Texas; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services were Saturday, March 15, 2003 at Lakeland Funeral Home with the Rev. Bret Morris officiating, followed by cremation.The family asks that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, Lyon County Unit, P.O. Box 1105, Eddyville, KY 42038.

Hard
FREELAND, Mich. -­ William D. Hard, 76, of Roscommon, Mich., formerly of Freeland, Mich., passed away Friday, Feb. 28, 2003 at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw.

His parents were William Roland and Nellie Smith Hard of Crittenden County. He was also preceded in death by two sisters.

A veteran of World War II, Mr. Hard worked as a pipefitter for the U.A. Local 85 Steamfitters and Plumbers Union.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Hard; daughter, Nancy Throop of Saginaw; two sons, William Hard and Walter Hard, both of Freeland; one sister, Ruth Hard Rogers of Princeton, Ky.; and five grandchildren.

Services were Tuesday, March 4 at Cunningham/Taylor Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Pashak officiating, followed by burial at Pine Grove Cemetery in Freeland.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the American Diabetes Association or another charity.

Butler
Cathryn Butler, 92, of Marion, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2003 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center.

She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas L. Butler; son, Donnie Belt of Marion; two daughters, Elizabeth Millikan and Mary Ann Wheeler, both of Marion; two stepdaughters, Lois Ann Worthy and Norma Jean Butler, both of Austin, Texas; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Hughes and one grandchild.

Funeral services were Monday, March 10 at Gilbert Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Winders officiating, followed by burial at Mapleview Cemetery.
