Marie H. Stone, 86, of Marion, passed away Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003 at Crittenden Hospital.
She is survived by one son, Phillip Stone of Marion; four daughters, Pam Duvall, Sue Beavers and Dot Boone, all of Marion, and Donna McClendon of Portland, Ore.; one sister, Elizabeth Nunn of Hopkinsville; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her husband, Hyrom Stone. Her parents were Russell and Mary Hardesty.
Funeral services were Sunday, Feb. 2 at Gilbert Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Whites Chapel Cemetery.
Prowell
WALNUT GROVE, Ky. - Idell Prowell, 75, of Walnut Grove, passed away Friday, Jan. 31, 2003 at her home following a long illness.
Mrs. Powell was a homemaker.
Her parents were John Elliott Towery and Myrtle Irene Hardrick Towery. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clifford R. Prowell; one son, Barry Prowell; one granddaughter, Shawn Durard; one brother and one sister.
Survivors include three daughters, Brenda McCormick, Sissy Durard and Lori Cruce, all of Caldwell County; four brothers, Jake Towery of Princeton; Huey Towery and Eddie Towery, both of Caldwell County, and Glover Towery of Jacksonville, Fla.; four sisters, Ann Massey, Dola Tosh and Leoma Wigginton, all of Fredonia, and Rudell Watson of Princeton; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were Monday, Feb. 3 at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Dean Ray and the Rev. Ken Cummins officiating. Burial was in Rowland Cemetery in Caldwell County.
Carlisle
BLACKFORD, Ky. - Carrie R. "Jimmie" Carlisle, 56, of Blackford, passed away Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003 at her home. She was a member of First General Baptist Church in Clay.
Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Joel Carlisle; two daughters, Heady Catherine McCormick and Carrie Allison McCormick, both of Clay; one son, Robert David Gatlin of Benton; mother, Bobbie Heady Witherspoon of Blackford; two brothers, Brenton Witherspoon of Mattoon and Dwight Witherspoon of Marion; and six grandchildren.
Her father was James Witherspoon. She was also preceded in death by a brother.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Jan. 21 at First General Baptist Church in Clay, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery near Blackford.
The family requests memorials take the form of contributions to St. Anthony's Hospice of Webster County.

Lane
FREDONIA - James E. Lane, 81, of Fredonia, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003 at Livingston Hospital in Salem.
An evangelist for 25 years, he was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Lane is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ruby Belt Lane of Fredonia; one stepson, Lonnie Bateman of Chicago, Ill.; one sister, Martha Weidner of Missouri; four stepgrandchildren; 13 stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Steve Lane and one stepson, James Bateman. His parents were Jim and Opal Lane.
Services were Friday, Jan. 24 at Boyd Funeral Home in Salem with the Rev. Roy Little officiating, followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery.
Fuller
ROCKPORT - Roy Hubert Fuller, 71, of Rockport, Ky., formerly of Grand Rivers, passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 2003 at Beaver Dam Health Care Manor.
A retired coal miner, he had also been employed by T.C. Railroad in construction and bridge building. He was a member and elder of Rockport Presbyterian Church, and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict.
Mr. Fuller is survived by his wife of 42 years, Billie D. Fuller; one daughter, Ann W. Hill of Ohio County; one brother, James C. Fuller of Marion; two sisters, Tiline Grey of Blackford and Dorothy K. Cowan of Grand Rivers; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services were Thursday, Jan. 23 at Bevil Brothers Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial followed in Sunnyside Cemetery.

LaRue
SALEM - Loretta LaRue, 84, of Salem, passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2003 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
A member of Salem Baptist Church for 52 years, Mrs. LaRue operated West End Service Station with her husband for 54 years.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Doug LaRue of Salem; two sons, Pete LaRue and Eric LaRue, both of Salem; one granddaughter, Mary Beth Ray of Salem; four nieces and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by a brother and sister. Her parents were Ehrich and Maude Mirse Metcalf.
Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 27 at Boyd Funeral Home in Salem, with the Rev. John East officiating, followed by burial in Salem Cemetery.

Watson
LOLA - Mark Watson, 72, of Lola, passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003 at his home.
Mr. Watson was a member and trustee of New Union General Baptist Church. A self-employed carpenter, he had retired from Peabody Coal.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Sylvia Mae Shuecraft Watson; two sons, Lloyd Dwayne Watson of Paducah and Gregory Mark Watson of Murray; mother, Grace Watson of Salem; two sisters, Lucille Little of Evansville, Ind., and Billie Royal of Cincinnati, Ohio; and two brothers, Lenville Watson and Raymond Watson, both of Evansville, Ind.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. His father was Guy Watson.
Services were Sunday, Jan. 26 at Boyd Funeral Home in Salem with the Rev. David Davis and the Rev. Tim Fouts officiating. Burial in Lola Cemetery.
Humphrey
Richard Humphrey Jr., 56, of Marion, passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003 at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Mr. Humphrey is survived by his wife, Muriel Humphrey of Marion; one son, Jason Prentice Powell of Henderson; two stepsons, Gerald Elder and Rickey Dale Elder, both of Marion; father, Richard Humphrey Sr. of Sebree; stepmother, Pauline Humphrey of Sebree; three brothers, Charles Allen Humphrey of Sturgis, Timothy Humphrey of Madisonville and Roy Humphrey of Morganfield; three sisters, Debra Lanham of Lexington, N.C., Penny Shockley of Madisonville and Patsy Faughn of Sturgis; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Humphrey, and a brother.
Funeral services were Sunday, Jan. 26 at Gilbert Funeral Home with the Rev. David Winders officiating, followed by burial in Pythian Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis.
Sutton
CLARKSVILLE - Henry "Allen" Sutton Jr., 37, of Clarksville, Tenn., passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2003 at Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville.
Services were held Jan. 9 at Sykes Funeral Home and Crematory.
Mr. Sutton was a machine operator with SPX Metal Forge. Allen was the grandson of the late Roscoe and Lucille Sutton of Marion, Ky., and the late William and Edna Walton of Sturgis, Ky.
Survivors include his father, Henry Sutton Sr. of Florida, formerly of Marion; mother, Bonnie Walton Sutton of Clarksville; wife, Dawn Loudermilk Sutton of Clarksville; three sons, Christopher and James Sutton and Randy Thompson, all of Clarksville; two daughters, Brittney Elicia and Riki Moore, both of Clarksville; two sisters, Joyce Phillips and Shannon Sutton, both of Clarksville; and two brothers, Brad Sutton of Clarksville, and Emery Sutton of Synoma, Tenn.

Stone
Willard H. Stone, 74, of Marion, passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2003 at Livingston Hospital.
He was a member of Marion Baptist Church.
Mr. Stone is survived by three sons, Mike Stone of Marion, Mark Stone of Clarksville, Tenn., and Danny Stone of Melbourne, Fla.; two brothers, Charles Stone of Texas and Gene Stone of Calvert City; one sister, Oma Jewel Lockridge of Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda L. Stone, and a brother.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Jan. 29 at Gilbert Funeral Home with the Rev. David Winders and the Rev. Darrell Clarke officiating, followed by burial in Mapleview Cemetery.
Mr. Stone was an avid golfer and regular at the local course. Despite a failing body as he fought cancer for several years, he continued to play golf. In fact, he scored the second hole-in-one of his life just last summer.
