Euell Edward Sweeney, 60, of Oakland, passed away Friday, Dec. 27, 2002 at the Medical Center at Bowling Green.
A native of Princeton, he was employed at General Motors Corvette Plant, a member of Oakland Baptist Church and past master of Oakland Masonic Lodge #563 F&AM, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Williams Sweeney; father, Euell Sweeney of Princeton; two daughters, Lisa Sweeney Duvall of Olive Branch, Miss., and Jade Sweeney of San Jose, Calif.; five sisters, Shirley Konen of Scottsdale, Ariz., Saundra Brookshire of Marion, Annie Lockhart of Princeton; Micke Rogers of Sausalito, Calif., and Sue Meyers of Ormond Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Donald Sweeney or Orange, Texas and Wayne Sweeney of Charleston, S.C.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lonnie Wells Sweeney.
Services were Sunday, Dec. 29 at Oakland Baptist Church.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the benefit of Mr. Sweeney's adopted missionary family in Brazil, in care of to United Faith Missions International, for Beth & Tim Faul and daughters, P.O. Box 306, Bala-Cynwyd, PA 19004.
Franks
Laura M. Franks, 81, of Brunswick, Ga., formerly of Marion, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2002 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla.
She was a member of Eastern Star and attended Glendale Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest Franks of Brunswick, Ga.; one son, David Franks of Portland, Ore.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2003 at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Arrangements by Gilbert Funeral Home.
Noffsinger
Marie Noffsinger, 91, of Paducah, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002 at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She is survived by two sons, Murel Barnes of Smithland and Bobby Barnes of Paducah; one sister, Geneva Baker of Winterhaven, Fla.; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eclas Noffsinger; one brother and three sisters.
Services are 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, at Boyd Funeral Home in Salem with the Rev. Gordon Downs officiating. Burial will be in Hampton Cemetery.
Moore
Jean Ann Moore, 58, of Marion, formerly of St. Louis, Mo., passed away Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
She was a member of St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in St. Louis.
Survivors include her husband, Dewey G. Moore of Marion; one daughter, Dawn Marie Rose-Kloeckner of St. Louis; one stepdaughter, Angela Flemming of Caseyville, Ill.; one brother, Robert Buckley of O'Fallon, Mo.; two sisters, Joyce Garrett of Warrenton, Mo., and Patricia Westlake of Mansfield, Texas; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Memorial service is 1 p.m. Thursday (today), Jan. 2 at Gilbert Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Phillips officiating.

Weldon
Gene Weldon, 85, of San Marino, Calif., formerly of Marion, passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2002 in Pasadena, Calif.
He served as an executive with Sears for more than 50 years. He was a member of the Jonathan Club and Rotary Club, and was a Kentucky Colonel and Tennessee Squire.
He is survived by one son, Worth Weldon of Modesto, Calif.; one daughter, Michelle Cather of Lancaster, Calif.; one sister, Elba Monroe of Crown Point, Ind.; sister-in-law, Sue Weldon of Marion; - longtime companion, Doris Schatra of Pasadena; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgene Weldon; son, Gerald Weldon; and two brothers.
Memorial services were Wednesday, Dec. 18 at Cabot and Sons Chapel in Pasadena.
The family requests memorials take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
Quertermous
Lucy Gregory Quertermous, 68, of Lexington, passed away Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002.
She is survived by two sons, Paul G. Quertermous of Georgetown and James D. Quertermous of Lexington; two daughters, Nancy Q. Yost of Gainesville, Ga., and LuAnn Douglas of Harrodsburg; her mother, Lois Gregory of Murray; three brothers, John Gregory, Richard Gregory and Jim Gregory, all of Marion; one sister, Rose Marie Gregory; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, John D. Quertermous Jr. Her father was J.L. Gregory.
Services were Tuesday, Dec. 31 at W.R. Milward Mortuary-Broadway in Lexington with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Stone
MARION, Ky. - David Kent Stone, 45, passed away Dec. 21, 2003 at his home.
He is survived by a daughter, Jessica Watson of Salem; two sons, Jacob Stone and Woody Stone, both of Marion.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Dec. 26 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. Tony Perryman will officiate. Gilbert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Hunter
SALEM, Ky. - William B. Hunter, 63, passed away Dec. 21, 2003 at his home.
Funeral services were held Dec. 23 at Boyd Funeral Home in Salem with Rev. Loyd Harris officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.
Surviving are a daughter, Laura Ann Whitt of Marion; a son, Richard Reed of Salem; two half brothers, Elvis Null and J.B. Null, both of Marion; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas B. and Null Hunter; and one brother.
Byard
PRINCETON, Ky. - Wallace Byard, 90, passed away Dec. 18, 2003 at Caldwell County Hospital. He was retired from Cumberland Manufacturing and was of Baptist faith.
Surviving are a son, Richard Byard of Marion; three daughters, Zora Thomason and Betty Deboe, both of Princeton, and Sarah Ann Hanvey of Caldwell County; a sister, Adell Duckworth of Greenville, Texas; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Funeral services were held Dec. 21 at Morgan's Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Holeman and Bill Williams officiating. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Hunt
Funeral services for James Denzil "Dink" Hunt, 81, of Marion, were held Dec. 24, 2003 at Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Gary McAbee officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Hunt passed away Dec. 21. He was employed by Kentucky Utilities for 40 years, serving in Earlington then as manager of the Marion office. He was district manager in Dawson Springs and later in Greenville before retiring in 1987.
He was a member of the Greenville First Baptist Church where he was a deacon for 50 years. He was ordained in Earlington in 1953 and was a 50-year Mason. He was past president of the Rotary and Kiwanis clubs and the Greenville Chamber of Commerce, a past member of the Crittenden Hospital Board of Directors and the Marion City Council. He served on the Pennyroyal Mental Health Board where he received an outstanding service award at his retirement and served in the U.S. Coast Guard for four years in World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Virginia Hunt of Greenville; a son, Stephen D. Hunt of Marion; and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
