Harrisburg, IL. - Velda Irene Winders, 90, formerly of Marion, passed away Nov. 1, 2003 at Carrier Mills Nursing Home. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Marion and the local chapter of Eastern Star.
Surviving are a son, Fred Winders of Harrisburg, IL.; a daughter, Sonja Dixon of Hopkinsville; a brother, Lester Brantley Jr. of Eaton Rapids, Mich.; two sisters, Coleene Gass of Haslet, Mich. and Evelyn Day of Marion; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Winders; a daughter, Charlotte Winders; and her parents, Lester and Nonie Brantley.
Funeral services were held Nov. 5 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Dixon and Bishop David Jones officiating. Burial was at Pythian Ridge Cemetery.
Winstead
Imogene Winstead, 91, of Marion, passed away Oct. 30, 2003 at Livingston Hospital. She was a member and pianist/organist and Sunday school teacher for several years at Mexico Baptist Church, and retired teacher from Crittenden County School System.
Surviving are one son, Bill Winstead of Cincinnati, Ohio; and several nieces.
Funeral services were held on Oct. 31 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Burdon and Rev. Archie Brock officiating. Burial was in Mexico Cemetery
Russell
Morris Russell, 84, formerly of Marion, passed away Nov. 1, 2003 at Glenwood Hospital in Louisiana. He was a member of Rosebud United Methodist Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Vahona Evona Hibbard of West Monroe, La., and Joyce Ann Groves of Springfield, Tenn.; a son, Carroll Raymond Russell of Salem; five step-grandchildren; and four step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jimmie Dell Russell; two sons, Darrell Wayne Russell and Harold Gene Russell; two infant children; two brothers; and his parents, Terril and Floretts Osee Lynn Russell.
Funeral services were held Nov. 5 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Winders officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.
Benedict
Mary Jane Benedict, formerly Mary Jane Perryman, 80, passed away Oct. 17, 2003.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Herbert Perryman; and a sister, Jo.
Funeral services were Oct. 25 in Glendale, Arizona.
Hall
JOY, Ky. - Funeral services for Mary Hall, 82, will be held Nov. 6, 200e at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Lee and Rev. Paul Bogard officiating. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery.
Hall passed away Nov. 4 at Western Baptist Hospital.
Surviving are her husband, Lloyd Hall of Joy; two sons, Billy Ray Hall and Robbie Hall, both of Joy; a daughter, Marie Hall Patterson of Paducah; two sisters, Irene Robinson of Illinois and Faye Robins of North Carolina; three brothers, Hugh Adams of Texas, Clifton Adams and Dwight Adams, both of Salem, Ill.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Odene Adams; and her parents, Frank and Nellie Jennings Adams.

Orenduff
Deborah A. Orenduff, 52, of Marion, passed away Oct. 26, 2003 at Crittenden Hospital. She was a member of Marion Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Orenduff of Marion; two brothers, David Bennett of Leesburg, Fla., and Keith Bennett of Bishopville, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jo Manley; three brothers, Eddie Bennett, Ronnie Bennett and Donald "Buddy" Bennett; and her parents, Harold and Edwina Bennett.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Oct. 30 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Burial will be in Deer Creek Cemetery.
Faughn
PRINCETON, Ky. - Timmy Faughn, 51, passed away Oct. 27, 2003 at his home after a long illness. He was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Littlefield Faughn; his parents, Dale and Virginia Faughn; two sons, Chad Faughn of Fredonia and Heath Faughn of Marion; a daughter, Nicole Faughn at home; five brothers, Phillip Faughn of Dixon, Steve Faughn of Marion, Nathan Faughn, Mark Faughn and Paul Faughn, all of Caldwell County; and a sister, Ruth McClure of Caldwell County.
Funeral services were held Oct. 28 at Morgan's Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Cummins and Rev. Mark Faughn officiating. Burial was in Rowland Cemetery.

Gilland
SALEM, Ky. - Earl Gilland, 71, passed away Oct. 15, 2003 at Livingston Hospital. He attended Marion Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Korean Conflict. He retired after 25 years from the Kentucky Department of Corrections at Eddyville.
Surviving are a daughter, Ozetta Gilland of Salem; two sisters, Edith Mutter and Iva Nell Martin, both of Marion; two granddaughters, SuAnn Long of Paducah and Sara Barnes Hall of Salem; and long time friend and companion, Ruby Newcom of Marion.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Sue Lemon Gilland; his parents, Ira Gilland and Nora Miler Gilland; and two sisters.
Funeral services were Oct. 17 at Boyd Funeral Home. Rev. Cortis Hill and Rev. Darrell Clarke officiated. Burial was in Lola Cemetary.

LUTZ, Fla.- Richard L. "Dick" Sale, 68, passed away Oct. 17, 2003 at his home. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was the owner of a State Farm Insurance Agency in Temple Terrace for 40 years.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Sale of Lutz, Fla.; two sons, Kenneth A. Sale of Lutz, and Steven E. Sale of Land O' Lakes, Fla.; a daughter, Melanie Hagan of Philadelphia, Penn.; two stepchildren, Terri Burgess and Stephan Burgess; six grandchildren; four sisters, Fitz Simmons of Louisville, Pat Jones of Sturgis, Mary Rieherd of Glasgow and Virginia Welch of Landcaster, Calif.; three brothers, Homer Sale of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., Carl A. Sale of Lexington and Gordan A. Sale of Paris, Ky.

SALEM, Ky. - Leona Catherine Griffith, 94, passed away Oct. 2, 2003 at Salem Springlake Care Center. She was a member of Marion Baptist Church.
Survivors include one sister, Lora Mae Franklin of Marion; one niece, Kay Stubblefield of Marion; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Griffith; one sister, Jennie Rhea Tabor; and her parents, Cora and Freeman McKinney.
Funeral services were held Oct. 4 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Clarke and Rev. Stuart Collins officiating. Burial was at Mexico Cemetery.

Pyle
Leonard R. Pyle, 62, of Marion, passed away Oct. 9, 2003 at Livingston Hospital. He was a retired assistant superintendent of Crittenden Co. Schools and attended Marion United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Janelle Pyle of Marion; two daughters, Kay Kirby and Kim Brown, both of Marion; one son, James Pyle of Marion; two sisters, Christine Liddick of Ocean Grove, NJ and Norma Kenny of Brielle, NJ; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Oct. 12 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Garvey officiating. Burial was at Mapleview Cemetery.
