Calvin Kenneth Brown, 62, of Marion, passed away Sept. 15, 2003 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Sue Brown of Marion; a daughter, Kimberly Brown Green of Marion; a son, Randy Brown of Henderson; a brother, Bobby Brown of Marion; and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Bertha Brown; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Sept. 18 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Faughn officiating. Burial will be in Fredonia Cemetery.
Belt
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - Velda R. Belt, 88, formerly of Crittenden County, passed away Sept. 12, 2003 at Micki Lipe Care Center in Springfield.
Surviving are a son, Bill Belt of Colorado; two daughters, Raye Croft of Springfield and Shirley Payne of Alsip, Ill.; a sister, Willie Boyd of Salem; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Belt; her parents, Leslie W. and Effie Watson Little; and two granddaughters.
Funeral services were Sept. 17 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Herbert Alexander and Rev. Bob Morro officiating. Burial was in Lola Cemetery.
Fox
Irene Beard Fox, 79, passed away Sept. 3, 2003 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center. She was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church in Dawson Springs and a was bus driver for special education children.
She is survived by one daughter, Faye Crider of Marion; two sons, Allen Beard and Tony Beard, both of Marion; one brother, Norman Crider of Gilbertsville; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Beard; two sons, Leon Beard and Curtis Beard; and her parents, Reba and Homer Crider.
Funeral services were held Sept. 5 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was at Mapleview Cemetery.
Flanery
SMITHLAND, Ky. - Olene Flanery, 93, passed away Sept. 5, 2003 at the Crittenden County Convalescent Center. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
She is survived by three daughters, Mamie L. Gipson of Marion, Mary M. Sharp and Jannie R. Bass, both of Smithland; seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Flanery; one brother; one sister; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; and her parents, David and Eliza B. Myrick Smith.
Funeral services were held Sept. 7 at Boyd Funeral Chapel, in Salem, with Bro. Clinton Belt and Bro. Leroy Driver officiating. Burial was at Carrsville Cemetery.
Riley
lone oak, Ky. - Naomi L. Riley, 79, passed away Sept. 3, 2003 at the Elderly Care Home in Paducah. She was a member of Highland Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she was presented with a perpetual membership in the Cumberland Presbyterian Women Association. She was a lifetime member of the Goldwing Motorcycle Association, Chapter B of Paducah.
Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Dennis K. Riley of Lone Oak; two sons, Rickey Riley, of Marion and Monty Riley, of Murray; two daughters, Mona Gish, of Owensboro, Lana Masse, of Lone Oak; one sister, Mona McDaniel, of Marion; two brothers, Gus Hale and Billie Hale both of Marion; several nieces and nephews; eight grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, C.E. and Esther Stone Hale; and one half-brother.
Funeral services were held Sept. 6 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Curtis Prewitt and Rev. Joe Butler officiating. Burial was at White's Chapel Cemetery.

James
PADUCAH, Ky. - Eldon Ray James, 83, passed away Sept. 7, 2003 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah. He is a former Marion resident.
He was a pilot in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was retired from Union Carbide after 29 years. He was a member of New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church and PACE International Local 50550.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Marcia York James of Paducah; three sons, Hollis Gregory James of Fulton, Eldon Franklin James of Columbia, Mo., and John Taylor James of Paducah; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were Sept. 10 at Milner and Orr Funeral Home in Paducah. Rev. Johnny Watson officiated. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Alvis
William Alvis, 95, of Marion, passed away Sept. 7, 2003 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah. He was retired from the Corps of Engineers and a member of Marion Masonic Lodge No. 256.
Funeral services were held Sept. 10 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Alvis of Marion; four sons, James Alvis of Calvert City, Donald Alvis and Gene Alvis, both of Marion and George Alvis of Uniontown; a sister, Georgie Alice Duvall of Marion; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Manley
MANCHESTER, Ky. - Betty Jo Manley, 68, passed away Sept. 2, 2003 at Manchester Hospital.
She was a member of Onieda Baptist Church where she also worked for many years. She is survived by three sons, Randy Manley and Steve Manley both of Palmer, Alaska and Scott Manley of Crofton; two brothers, Keith Bennett of Bishopville, SC., and David Bennett of Florida.; a sister, Deborah Orendoff of Marion; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Sept. 5 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Brady and Rev. Steve Crumpler officiating. Burial will be at Deer Creek Cemetery.
Conrad
Mary Jane Conrad, 55, of Marion passed away Sept. 1, 2003 at Livingston Hospital. She was a member of Marion Christian Church.
Surviving are her mother, Mary Chick Cook of Marion; two sons, Cecil Henry and John Henry, both of Marion; a daughter, Sarah Henry of Marion; and one brother, Robert B. Cook III of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Conrad; and father, Robert Bryson Cook Jr.
A memorial service was held Sept. 3 at Marion Christian Church with Rev. John Conn officiating. Her ashes will be scattered in Montana at a later date.

Charles G. Long, 70, of Marion passed away Aug. 29, 2003 at his home. He was retired from Hannah Marine in Lemont, Ill,, and was a member of Masonic Lodge #812 in Carrsville.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Lou Long of Marion; two daughters, Joyce Mikolaitis of Marseilles, Ill., and Janet Persico of Seneca, Ill.; a son, Charles N. Winters of Stratford, Va.; two sisters, Bernice Watson of Salem and Brenda Marshall of Grand Rivers; a brother, Marvin Long, Jr., of Henry, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Long and Marvin Long, Sr.; and a brother, Billy Long.
Funeral services were Sept. 1 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Carter officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Orendoff
Funeral services for Seth Orendoff, 16 months, were Aug. 30, 2003 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. Tom Easley officiated. Burial was in Whites Chapel Cemetery.
Orendoff, the son of Michael and Melissa Orendoff of Marion, passed away Aug. 28 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Brianna Mills of Marion; two grandmothers, Cathy Nesbitt of Marion and Donna Atkins of Missouri; a great-grandmother, Opal Pigg of Marion; and great-grandparents, Dorothy and Norman Burgess of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Marion Orendoff.
