SALEM, Ky. - Tula Nelson, 77, passed away July 24, 2003 at River's Bend Retirement Community. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son, Robert Howard of Grand Rivers; a sister, Mildred Hurley of Carrsville; two brothers, Trice McDonald of Salem and Alvin McDonald of Carrsville; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Nelson; three brothers; and her parents, Arthur and Grace Belt McDonald.
Graveside services were held July 26 at Salem Cemetery with Rev. John East officiating. Boyd Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Duvall
Cleo Duvall, 88, of Marion, passed away July 26, 2003 at her home in the Mexico community. She was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held July 29 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. John Ray Baker and Rev. Joe Baker officiating. Burial was in Mexico Cemetery.
Duvall is survived by five sons, Charles Duvall of Marion, Robert Duvall of Longview, Texas, Doug Duvall of Madisonville and Steve Duvall and Larry Duvall, both of Portage, Ind.; two daughters, Brenda Hodges of Kuttawa and Jan Duvall of Lombard, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Duvall; a grandson, Mike Duvall; and her parents, Ervin and Muriel Wring Jones.
Nichols
PADUCAH, Ky. - Norma Nichols, 67, passed away July 27, 2003 at her home. She was a homemaker and member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Ollie Nichols of Paducah; two daughters, Linda Lynn of Barlow and Tina Johnson of Kevil; a son, Rodney Nichols of Kevil; four sisters, Nancy Buchanan of Mayfield, Rosalee Wallace of Dycusburg, Dixie Ray of Paducah and Darlene Tabor of Fredonia; two brothers, Phillip Buchanan of Dycusburg and Harold Buchanan of Fredonia; six grandchildren; a step granddaughter; a great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Lula Loraine Martin Buchanan; a sister; a brother; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were July 30 at Milner & Orr of Paducah. Rev. Larry Davidson and Rev. Billy Rodgers officiated. Burial was in Zion Cemetery.
Rushing
FREDONIA, Ky. - Funeral services for Maudline Rushing, 83, were held July 28, 2003 at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton. Rev. Tommy Tackett officiated, assisted by Rev. David Royalty officiated. Burial was in Fredonia Cemetery.
Rushing passed away July 25 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church and was a retired painter at Shawnee Plastics.
Surviving are her husband, William Rushing of Fredonia; nine sons, Junior Hayse Pinnegar of Cape Coral, Fla., Carl E. Oliver, David L. Rushing and Jerry D. Rushing, all of Fredonia, Harold D. Oliver of Calvert City, R.W. Oliver, Sr., of Princeton, Roger D. Rushing of Sturgis, Gary A. Rushing of Marion and William P. Rushing of Princeton; four daughters, Linda S. Hamby of Princeton, Shirley A. Riley and Anita J. Oliver, both of Kuttawa, and Brenda K. Rowland of Fredonia; a brother, Nay W. Pinnegar of Lake City, Fla.; a sister, Erma L. Whitmon of Princeton; 36 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Tobin
OWENSBORO, Ky. - Mable Tobin, 90, formerly of Marion, passed away July 17, 2003 at Owensboro Mercy Hospital. She was a member of Third Baptist Church in Owensboro and a former member of Marion Baptist Church. She was a former member and treasurer of the Woman's Club of Marion, a member of WMU at Marion Baptist Church and the former owner of Tobin Tourtel in Marion.
Surviving are two daughters, Jean Carol Stone and Nancy Hurst, both of Owensboro; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was survived by her husband, William N. Tobin; and a brother.
Funeral services were held July 21 at Marion Baptist Church with Rev. Darrell Clarke officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery. Gilbert Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Hodge
Georgia Hodge, 79, of Marion, passed away July 17, 2003 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah. Funeral services were July 19 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Garvey and Sister Lucy Tedrick officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Hodge was a member of Marion Baptist Church and the Crittenden Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by a daughter, Karla Jean Bumpus of Marion; two sons, Emil Leroy Hodge of Marion and Ronald Kerry Hodge of Long Beach, Miss.; five sisters, Mildred Neimi of Alabama, Betty Pohlman of Kansas, Roberta Cash and Faye Duggan, both of Memphis and Kaye Glore of Marion; three brothers, Lewis Sliger of Owensboro, Alfred Sliger of Indiana and Kenneth Sliger of Nashville; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Hodge; a son, James Noel; and a brother and a sister.

SALEM, Ky. - Roy M. Knight, 78, passed away July 21, 2003 at Livingston Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Riley Knight, of Salem; six daughters, Shirley Gott of High Ridge, Mo., Beverly Hackney, Diann Loveless and Gail Knight, all of Marion, Linda Barron of Mattoon and Cindy Travis of Salem; a brother, Chester Knight of Marion; two sons, Jackie Knight of Kuttawa and Timmy Knight of Reidland; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a step grandchild; two step great-grandchildren.
His parents were William S. and Ruth Brackett Knight.
Services were held July 23 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Max Hansen officiating. Burial was in Hebron Cemetery.
Williams
Jesse Louis Williams, 73, of Marion, formerly of Marengo, Ill., passed away July 21, 2003 at Livingston Hospital.
He was a former commander of the VFW Post in Providence. He was a member of the American Legion in Marengo, Ill. He was former owner of Williams' Grocery and Garage in Mattoon.
He is survived by four daughters, Esther Whithead of Arkansas, Arlene Stephens of Caldwell County, Jessica Lowery of Marion and Patricia Volkommer of Woodstock, Ill.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nellie Williams; three brothers; and a sister.
Funeral services were held July 24 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating.

Brooks
PADUCAH, Ky. - Nira Mae Brooks, 69, formerly of Marion, passed away July 19, 2003 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
Brooks was a homemaker and member of New Bethel Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Charles Brooks of Crittenden County; and a daughter, Sharon Brooks of McCracken County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Robert Brooks. Her parents were Grady and Lucille Sisco.
Funeral services were held July 22 at Lakeland Funeral Home with burial in Mapleview Cemetery.
Driver
PRINCETON, Ky. - Funeral services for Martha A. Driver, 94, formerly of Fredonia, will be held at 1 p.m., July 24, 2003 at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton. Burial will be in Fredonia Cemetery.
Driver passed away July 22 at Princeton Health Care Manor. She is was of the Baptist faith and was a retired restaurant worker.
She is survived by a sister, Leora Landers of Marion; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Driver; a son, Ruble Driver; five brothers; and four sisters. Her parents were Jake and Nonia Fralix Cummings.
