She is survived by a son, Carroll Smith of Newburgh, Ind.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ortho Smith; and one daughter.
Funeral services were July 21 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. A.C. Hodge officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Grealis
DIXON, Ky. Nancy Grealis, 61, formerly of Marion, passed away July 17, 2004 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.
She is survived by her father, Clinton "Pete" Drennan of Marion; a son, Kendall Faught of Midway; two daughters, Paula Cheshire of Seminole, Fla., and Michelle Vincent of Dixon; a brother, Clinton "Eddie" Drennan of Henderson; three sisters, Barbara Irwin of Indianapolis, Mary Lee Blythe of Spotsville and Connie Dailey of Almo; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Grealis; and her mother, Imogene Price Drennan.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., July 23 at Sugar Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Frank McCallum officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
Conway
Jack Conway, 77, of Marion, passed away July 19, 2004 at Crittenden Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Helen George Conway of Marion; a daughter, Barbara Booker of Marion; a sister, Bobbie Dean Ritchie of Paris, Tenn.; a brother, Thomas Conway of Evansville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers; two sisters; and his parents, Joseph and Gertrude Henshaw Conway.
Funeral services were July 22 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Browning officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.
Kirk
SPRINGFIELD, Va. Mary Anna Kirk, 89, formerly of Salem, passed away July 2, 2004.
She was retired from the State Department in Washington, D.C., and was a missionary in Africa for three years.
She is survived by three nephews and five nieces.
Interment will be at Mount Comfort Cemetery in Springfield.
Kirk was preceded in death by two brothers, Paris Kirk and Sherman Kirk.
Newcom
LANTANA, Fla. Cecil Milton Newcom, 72, passed away July 5, 2004.
He graduated from Mattoon High School in 1940.
He is survived by a daughter, Doris Ann Case of Wickliffe; a daughter, Joyce Lynn O'Daniel of Phoenix, Ariz.; and one grandson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June Phillips Newcom.
A memorial service for both Mr. and Mrs. Newcom will be held at Rosebud Cemetery at a date to be announced.
Millikan
SALEM, Ky. Evelyn Millikan, 69, passed away July 8, 2004 at Salem Springlake Care Center. She was a member of Loveless Chapel Pentecostal Church.
Funeral services were July 11 at Loveless Chapel Church with Rev. Larry Peach officiating. Burial was in Loveless Chapel Cemetery.
Surviving are a brother, Robert Millikan of Salem; a sister, Louise Hall of Darien, Ill.; three nieces; and three nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Coleman and Alma Malcom Millikan.
Thurman
Rowena Thurman, 89, of Marion, passed away July 4, 2004 at Salem Springlake Care Center. She was of Baptist faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Hanor of Marion; a son Bobby Thurman of Marion; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Thurman. Her parents were William and Ida Mae Holloman.
Funeral services were July 7 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Thurman officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Crayne
Funeral services for Everette "Ebb" Crayne, 80, were July 7, 2004 at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton. Burial was in Piney Fork Cemetery.
Crayne passed away July 4 at Redbank Nursing Home in Henderson. He was a retired mechanic and veteran of World War II.
Surviving are a daughter, Carol Mitchell Robinson of Illinois; a brother, Charles Crayne of Caldwell County; a sister, Sara Eison of Madisonville; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carlos Crayne and Henry Carlton "Todd" Crayne; and a sister, Silva Brasher.
Ball
Charles T. Ball, 77, of Marion, passed away July 3, 2004 at Crittenden Hospital.
Funeral services were July 6 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. Tom Easley officiated. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Ball of Marion; three daughters, Tina Jones of Marion, Katie Hosman of Marion and Linda Sue McKinney of Marion, Ill.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Owen
PADUCAH, Ky. Thomas Beverly Owen, 63, passed away June 30, 2004 at Western Baptist Hospital. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Mathis Owen of Paducah; two sons, Jeff Owen and David Dowdy, both of Jackson, Miss.; three daughters, Marcie Burkhart of Jackson, Miss., Caran Franklin and Connie Brantley, both of Paducah; a sister, Jeanetta Hardin of Paducah; three brothers, Jr. Owen of Salem, Harold Wayne Owen of Adrian, Miss., and Jim Owen of Jackson, Miss.; several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Coy Owen, Sr., and Fada Smith Owen.
Memorial services were held July 6 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Council officiating.
Hombirg
SALEM, Ky. Wilma E. Sunderland Hombirg, 76, passed away June 28, 2004 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center. She was of the Protestant faith.
Surviving are three brothers, John C. Sunderland of Henderson, James Sunderland of Paducah and Carmon Sunderland of Salem; three sisters, Lela Lester of Salem and Charlene Sunderland and Edna Edmiston, both of Paducah; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles W. and Lottie Myrick Sunderland, and one brother.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., July 1 at Boyd Funeral Home. Rev. Wayne Carter and Sister Lucy Tedrick will officiate. Burial is in Bethel Cemetery.
