BARTLETT, Tenn. Jack A. O'Steen, 80, passed away May 27, 2004 at his home. He was a retired captain in the U.S. Army and a veteran of World War II.
Funeral services were June 1 at Gilbert Funeral Home with burial in Frances Cemetery.
Surviving are two daughters, Rebecca Smrt of Bartlett and Allison Curry of Wallburg, N.C.; four sons, Mark O'Steen and David O'Steen, both of Bartlett, Stephen O'Steen of Ormond Beach, Fla., and James O'Steen of Eagan, Minn.; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonita Andrews O'Steen; and a brother.
Holder
Ola Mae Holder, 77, of Marion, passed away May 31, 2004 at Livingston Hospital. She was a member of Seven Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Evelyn (Gerald) Elder and Gladys (John) Clark, both of Marion; and three grandchildren, Chris Elder and Caelyn and Whitney Clark.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Millard Holder; three brothers; a sister; and her parents, Claude and Ada Campbell.
Funeral services were June 2 at Seven Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Howton and Rev. Don Guess officiating. Burial was in Asbridge Cemetery.

SALEM, Ky. Buddy Harris, 73, passed away May 27, 2004 at Livingston Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Cox Harris of Salem; a daughter, Tina Harris of Burna; eight sons, Perry Harris, Quinton Harris, Mike Harris, Dale Harris and Terry Harris, all of Salem, Sam Harris of Illinois, Everet Harris of Marion and Joseph Harris of Burna; eight sisters, Carolyn Mendez of California, Evelyn Orenduff of Arizona, Viola Miller of Marco, Ind., Shirley Hackney and Emma Lou Belt, both of Marion, Faye Baker, Irma Springs and Leona Belt, all of Salem; seven brothers, C.L. Agent and Tommy Agent, both of Madisonville, Jerry Agent of Marion, Tommy Harris and Denny Harris, both of Salem, and Robert Harris and Billy Harris, both of Brooke, Ind.; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ules and Valada Shuecraft Harris; and a daughter, Bonnie Jean Harris.
Funeral services were May 31 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. John East officiating. Burial was in Lola Cemetery.
Cullen
STURGIS, Ky. Freddie Cullen, 73, passed away May 29, 2004 at Methodist Hospital in Henderson County. He was a retired policeman, firefighter and coal miner.
Funeral services were June 2 at First Baptist Church in Sturgis. Rev. Don Phelps officiated. Burial was in Pythian Ridge Cemetery in Sturgis.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia Cullen of Sturgis; two daughters, Joyce Curtis of Marion and Debbie Henry of Carmi, Ill.; two sons, Freddy Ray Cullen and Jerry Scott Cullen, both of Sturgis; four stepdaughters, Joann Ricketts and Sharon Hayes, both of Henderson County, Martha Russellburg of Sturgis and Donna Sue Pope of Florida; a stepson, Ronnie Keen of Marion; 26 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Caton; two daughters, Theresa Cullen and Christy Stevens; and his parents, Landon Cullen and Alice Miller Cullen.
Travis
Etoy Travis, 66, of Marion, passed away June 1, 2004 at Crittenden Hospital. She was a member of Shiloh Christian Church in Union County.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., June 3 at Gilbert Funeral Home. J.L. Laughlin and Dan Lovell will officiate. Burial will be in Mapleview Cemetery.
Surviving are a daughter, Wendy Winders of Marion; a sister, Nellie Crook of Sturgis; and a brother, Bethal Stewart of Mansfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald "Buck" Travis; her parents, Kelly and Ethel Steward; two brothers; ad a sister.

SALEM, Ky. Juanita F. Hosick, 83, passed away May 23, 2004 at her home. She was a member of Pinckneyville Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, George W. Hosick of Warrenton, Mo.; three daughters, Wanda M. May of Reidland and Linda L. Lawson and LaDonna F. Brewer, both of Marion; a brother, Doyle Simpkins of Redfield, Ark.; three sisters, Virginia Shuecraft of Villa Ride, Mo., Mona Barnes of Marion and Dorothea McChesney of Poplar Grove, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Recil Hosick; her parents, William and Taleen Lee Simpkins; a daughter, Nancy Hosick; a son, James G. Hosick; a brother, Carter Simpkins; and a grandson, Randy May.
Funeral services were May 26 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Rice and Rev. Leslie Joyce officiating. Burial was in Tyner's Chapel Cemetery.
Sutton
James R. "Jimmy Boy" Sutton, 52, of Marion, passed away May 17, 2004 at his home.
He is survived by two sons, Christopher Sutton of Madisonville and Jamie Sutton of Marion; a daughter, Julie Sutton of Marion; three brothers, Robert Sutton of Eddyville, Henry Sutton of Florida and Ricky Sutton of Marion; six sisters, Betty Walker of Sturgis, Helen Thomas of Cadiz, Melinda Robertson of Marion, Mary Council of Draffenville, Delores Lamb of Providence and Shirley Sutton of Cadiz; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Gipson. His parents were Roscoe and Mable Lucille Sutton.
Funeral services were May 20 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. Donnie Winders officiated. Burial was in Rosebud Cemetery.
Walker
Nellie E. Walker, 74, of Marion, passed away May 22, 2004 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center.
Funeral services were May 24 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis. Rev. Noble Cobb officiated. Burial was in Rosebud Cemetery.
Walker is survived by her husband, Courtney "Dude" Walker of Marion; three sons, Courtney Ray Walker of Waterboro, S.C., and Bradley Alan Walker and Michael Lynn Walker of Marion; a sister, Rose Collins of Sullivan; a brother, Robert Markham of Marion; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Joey Capps.
Watson
Funeral services for Helen Watson, 90, of Marion, were held May 24, 2004 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. Wayne Garvey and Sis. Lucy Tedrick officiated. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Surviving are two daughters, Hazel Wardlaw of Marion and Janice Jones of Bowling Green; a son, Robert "Buddy" Watson of Marion; a sister, Evelyn Atwell of Lola; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyce Watson; a daughter, Lois Dean Watson; and a grandson, Gregory Lois Watson.

Garnett
PADUCAH, Ky. Graveside services for Edythe Lorene Garnett, 89, formerly of Marion, were May 22, 2004 at Mexico Cemetery. Rev. Archie Brock officiated.
Garnett passed away May 18 at Western Baptist Hospital. She was a retired licensed practical nurse at Salem and Princeton hospitals, and she attended Trinity Baptist Church.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.R. "Red" Garnett.

Phillips
Rev. Robert Phillips, 69, of Marion, passed away May 12, 2004 at Western Baptist Hospital. He was pastor of Cave Springs General Baptist Church in Marion.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Phillips of Marion; three daughters, Evonne Hunt, Debbie Roberts and Sharon Martin, all of Marion; three brothers, Ernest B. Phillips of Mayfield, Oliver Earl Phillips of Hartford and Aubrey Eugene Phillips of Marion; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Ovel and Vera Ethel Phillips.
Funeral services were May 15 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Heath Martin and Rev. John Dunn officiating. Burial was in Phillips Cemetery at Baker Church.
