PADUCAH, Ky. Funeral services for Addie Weaver, 96, formerly of Livingston County, were held Jan. 13, 2004 at Boyd Funeral Home. Rev. Jamie Broome officiated. Burial was in Hampton Cemetery.
Weaver passed away Jan. 11 at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Eureda Clark and Pauline Holt, both of Paducah; a son, Dennis "Buddy" Weaver of Paducah; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a sister; two brothers; and her parents, Robert L. and Fannie Hurley Lawless.
Willbanks
SALEM, Ky. Charles Willbanks, 69, passed away Jan. 11, 2004 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a charter member of Maranatha Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Chuck Willbanks of Smithland and Jerry Willbanks of Salem; five sisters, Wanda Miller of Marion, Ill., Carmlee Poindexter of Rosiclaire, Ill., Muriel Dickerson, Thelle Butler and Eileen Tabor, all of Salem; two brothers, Billy Willbanks of Salem and Donnie Willbanks of Paducah; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Nell Damron Willbanks; and a sister.
Funeral services were held Jan. 14 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Brown officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.
Meeks
STURGIS, Ky. Dale Meeks, 49, passed away Jan. 8, 2004 at Methodist Hospital in Henderson. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Marion.
Funeral services were Jan. 12 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis with Bro. David Johnson and Bro. Wayne Smith officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Shelia Meeks of Sturgis; his mother, Mary Meeks of Marion; a daughter, Felisha Quertermous of Sturgis; four stepdaughters, Brittany Mitchell, Megan Mitchell, Nathasha Mitchell and Courtney Mitchell, all of Sturgis; four sons, Johnny Meeks of Hersy, Ill., Brian Meeks and Jason Meeks, both of Princeton and Chris Meeks of Sturgis; three sisters, Patsy Locke, Louise Givens and Faye Binkley, all of Marion; a brother, Tommy Meeks of Marion; and 14 grandchildren.
Adams
SALEM, Ky. Haley DeShea Adams, the infant stillborn daughter of Dawn and Stacey Adams, was buried Jan. 9, 2004 in Rowland Cemetery. Rev. Maxie Hanson officiated. The baby passed away Jan. 7 at Western Baptist Hospital.
Survivors include a sister, Nikki Adams; a brother, Trace Adams; maternal grandparents, Cheryl and Gary Land of Marion; paternal grandmother and step grandfather, Jimmy and Shirley Kelley of Hardin; paternal grandfather and step grandmother, Roger and Barbara Adams of Marion; great-grandmother Idabelle Riley of Marion; great-grandparents Orlin and Mildred Long of Salem and Willie Mae and Delmer Jenkins of Marion.
Linzy
EVANSVILLE, Ind. Dorothy M. Linzy, 76, formerly of Marion, passed away Jan. 9, 2004 at her home in Evansville. She was a member of Mexico Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Jerry A. Linzy of Evansville; a daughter, Lana Baker of Evansville; three brothers, Raymond Winters of Evansville, Charles "C.W." Winters and Norman Winters of Lansing, Mich.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters; and her parents, Ortho and Vera Winters.
Funeral services were held Jan. 13 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating.

Newcom
PORTAGE, Ind. Willard Leon Newcom, 81, passed away Jan. 6, 2004. He was born in Crittenden County, was a longtime resident of Hobart, Ind., and was an electrician and member of Augustana Lutheran Church where he served on the church council for many years.
Funeral services were Jan. 10 at Augusana Lutheran Church with burial in McCool Cemetery in Portage.
Surviving are a son, John Newcom of Hobart; three daughters, Leona Bishop of Chesterton, Ind., Paula Isolampi of Hobart and Mary Kelm of Munster, Ind.; three brothers, Leonard Newcom of Indiana, Glenn Newcom of Kentucky and Delmer Newcom of Hobart; three sisters, Mary Katherine Chandler of Kentucky, Elwanda McDowell of Kentucky and Janey Syers of Missouri; eight grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and two aunts.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Imo Jean Newcom and his parents, Joseph and Wanda Newcom.

Maxfield
SMITHLAND, Ky. Funeral services for Dallas F. Maxfield, 88, were held Jan. 7, 2004 at Boyd Funeral Home. Burial was in McMurray Chapel Cemetery. Rev. E.J. Hatton and Rev. James R. Maxfield officiated.
Maxfield passed away Jan. 5 at Salem Springlake Care Center. He was an active member of McMurray Chapel Methodist Church, a member of Smithland Masonic Lodge and was a Gideon, veteran of World War II and active member of the American Legion in Burna. He was a boilermaker for 40 years.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Emma P. Maxfield of Smithland; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Ora Love Maxfield; a sister; and four brothers.
Stalion
SALEM, Ky. Graveside services for Paul B. Stalion, 73, were held Jan. 5, 2004 at Loveless Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Tim Sprouse and Rev. Tim Fouts officiated.
Stalion was a member of Loveless Chapel Church, was a Korean War veteran and was a retired press operator from Moore Business Forms.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Helen Ferrell Stalion of Salem; two daughters, Kathi Stalion of Marion and Cheryl Taylor of Paducah; a son, Mike Stalion of Jackson, Tenn.; a sister, Virginia Bowen of Salem; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Doy and Ola Mae Cooper Stalion; two sisters; and a brother.
Wheeler
Shirley Fritts Wheeler, 63, of Marion, passed away Jan. 3, 2004 at Crittenden Hospital. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Marion.
Surviving are a son, Tony McDowell of Marion; three sisters, Catherine Fowler of Evansville, Naomi Stallion of Leesburg, Fla., and Wanda Mahnke of Marion; one granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oynaul Wheeler; a brother, Willard Fritts; and her parents, Sidney and Eva Mae Fritts.
Funeral services were Jan. 6 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. A.C. Hodge officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Phillips
LOUISVILLE, Ky. Leroy Phillips, 73, passed away Jan. 1, 2004 at Jewish Hospital. The Nortonville resident was a coal miner employed at Island Creek Coal Co.
Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Helen Phillips of Nortonville; two sons, Richard Phillips of Nortonville and Randall Phillips of Louisville; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Boyd Phillips and Georiga Elizabeth Phillips; and a sister, Gloria Scholar.
Funeral services were Jan. 4 at Brandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Rev. Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Rosebud Cemetery.
Frailey
CAVE IN ROCK, Ill. Gary A. Frailey, 70, passed away Jan. 1, 2004 at Hardin County Hospital. Funeral services were held Jan. 4 at Rose-Gilbert Funeral Home in Cave In Rock, with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Eula Frailey of Cave In Rock; two sons, Keith Frailey of Goreville, Ill., and Kurt Frailey of Rosiclare, Ill.; two daughters, Pamela Mercurio of Rosiclare and Paula O'Dell of Cave In Rock; a sister, Barbara Elkins of University Park, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
