Graveside services for Virginia Rhea Lanham Longist, 85, of Marion will be held Friday, May 21, at Love Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Porter officiating.
Longist passed away May 18 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center.
She is survived by two daughters, Delois Tinsley of Marion and Roberta Benedict of Evansville, Ind.; a brother, James Boyd of Marion; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Longist was preceded in death by her husband, Larnie Lanham; and two sons, Wayne Lanham and Jerry Lanham.
Fletcher
Services for Charles Fletcher, 78, of Marion were held May 6 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Revs. David LeNeave and Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.
Fletcher passed away May 2, 1999 at Crittenden Hospital.
He was a member of Calvary Pentecostal Church.
Fletcher is survived by his wife, Fannie Fletcher of Marion; four sons, Carl Ferrell of Villa Ridge, Mo., Charles Fletcher, Jr. of Deaver, Wyo., Jerry Fletcher and Rickie Fletcher, both of Marion; a daughter, Linda Fletcher Hunter of Salem; a foster daughter, Virginia Hodge of Marion; three sisters, Rebecca Gibbs and Ruby Driver of Fredonia and Mary Mae Harris of Eddyville; a brother, Charlie Peek of Fredonia; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Effie Fletcher.
Rhea
Services for Elizabeth "Libby" Wedding Rhea, 77, of Morganfield, were held May 10 at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon with Father Ed Bradley officiating. Burial was in Oddfellows Cemetery in Clay.
Rhea passed away May 7, 1999 at Methodist Hospital in Union County.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morganfield.
She is survived by her husband, W.J. Rhea of Morganfield; a son, Bobby Rhea of Salem; two daughters, Betty Curry of Clay and Lynn Gray of Morganfield; a sister, Ann Frields of Henderson; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Rhea was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Rhea.
VanHooser
J.R. VanHooser, 98, formerly of Princeton, passed away May 4, 1999 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center.
He was a retired factory worker of Borden Milk Plant and a member of the First Baptist Church in Princeton.
VanHooser is survived by four sons, Carroll VanHooser of Norwich, Vt., David VanHooser of Huntsville, Ala., Jim VanHooser and Joe VanHooser, both of Princeton; a daughter, Ruth Chandler of Plymouth, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eulah Evelyn Varnell VanHooser; a daughter, Fannie Mae VanHooser; and his parents, John and Fannie VanHooser.
Services were held May 10 at Morgan's Funeral Chapel in Princeton with Rev. Tom Hughes officiating. Burial was in Dixon Cemetery in Grand Rivers.
Shaffer
Evalee Shaffer, 71, of Marion, passed away May 8, 1999 at her home.
She was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church.
Shaffer is survived by three daughters, Penny McDaniel and Jimmy Sue Shaffer, both of Paducah and Peggy James of Salem; four sons, Neal Shaffer, Steve Shaffer and Pete Shaffer, all of Marion and Eddie Shaffer of Smithland; one brother, Jewell Myers of Lewisport; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Guthrie Wayne Shaffer; and a brother.
Services were held May 11 at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church with Revs. John Ray Baker and Robert Phillips officiating. Burial was in Tyner's Chapel Cemetery
Stewart
Graveside services for Eva Pearl Stewart, 90, of Madisonville were held May 2 at Sugar Grove Cemetery with Rev. Chester Cannon officiating.
Stewart passed away April 28, 1999 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
She was a retail sales clerk at Young's Department Store in Madisonville. She was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Madisonville and a 50-year member of the Eastern Star Lodge in Marion.
Stewart is survived by two daughters, Mary Mitchell of Phoenix, Ariz. and Linda Moss and son-in-law, Wayne Moss of Roanoke, Va.; a son and daughter-in-law, John, Sr. and Nora Stewart of Madisonville; two sisters; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett "Jack" Stewart; her parents, Efrim and Via Poore; and eight sisters and brothers.
Grimes
Thelma Grimes, 82, of Salem passed away April 27, 1999 at Livingston Hospital.
She is survived by three sons, Orbin Grimes, Jr., of Ledbetter, Herman Grimes and Don Grimes both of Salem; a sister, Lavene Cavanaugh of Hopkinsville; two brothers, Roy Guess of California and Charles Guess of Idaho; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Grimes was preceded in death by her husband, Orbin Grimes, Sr.; a grandson; a brother; three sisters; and her parents, Elbert and Minnie Mae Driver Guess.
Services were held April 30 at Boyd Funeral Chapel with Revs. John East and Mike Grimes officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.
Davidson
Frankie Davidson, 97, of Burna passed away April 30, 1999 at her home.
She was a teacher in the Livingston County School System for 38 years. She was a graduate of Livingston County High School and Murray State University with a degree in mathematics and did graduate work at the University of Kentucky. She was the oldest member of Dyer Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by a stepson, Harry Davidson of Homewood, Ill.; a step-granddaughter, Joan Markstein of Cocoa, Fla.; and a step-grandson, Fred Davidson, of Urbana, Ill.
Davidson was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Davidson; her parents, Ivery and Millie Spicer; and a sister.
Services were held May 3 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Beals officiating.
Burial was in Salem Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kentucky Baptist Home for Children in Louisville.
