LEDBETTER, Ky. - Services for Leslie Shekell, 49, were Oct. 8, 2005 at Smith Funeral Chapel. Rev. John East and Rev. Mike Grimes officiated. Burial was in Birdsville Cemetery.
Shekell passed away Oct. 5 at his home. He was a graduate of Livingston Central High School and Murray State University and held a law degree from Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif. He practiced law for 10 years in Paducah and 10 years in California.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Shekell; his mother, Frances Shekell of Smithland; his father, Bill Shekell of Ledbetter; a sister, Tonya Loyd of Ledbetter; stepchildren Ashley Woolridge of Calvert City, Lesley Hensley of Grayson, Ky., and Wesley Woolridge of Ledbetter; and a niece and nephew.
He was preceded in death by a brother, David Shekell.
Ruud
PADUCAH, Ky. - Graveside services for Kerena Hutson Ruud, 71, were held Oct. 10, 2005 at Paradise Cemetery with Rev. Willie Guess officiating. She passed away Oct. 5 at her home.
Surviving are a daughter, Gail Ruud of Paducah; two sons, Daryl Ruud and Greg Ruud, both of Paducah; and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
McGrew
SAN BERNADINO, Calif. - Carl Dennis McGrew, formerly of the Joy community in Livingston County, passed away Oct. 4, 2005 at Country Villa Hicienda in California. Graveside services were Oct. 10 at Good Hope Cemetery with his cousin, Bill McGrew, officiating.
Surviving are a sister, Eloise McGrew and a nephew, Larry Perkins, both of San Bernadino; and several great-nieces, nephews and cousins in Kentucky and Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Addie Pope McGrew.
Butler
SALEM, Ky. - Thella Butler, 78, passed away Oct. 9, 2005 at Crittenden Hospital. She was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church.
Services were Oct. 12 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Wynn and Rev. Tom Ledgerwood officiating. Burial was in Tyner's Chapel Cemetery.
Surviving are two sons, Robert Butler of Hampton and Thomas Butler of Dyersburg, Tenn.; four sisters, Muriel Dickerson and Eileen Tabor, both of Salem, Carmalee Poindexter of Rosiclare, Ill., and Wanda Miller of Marion; two brothers, Billy Willbanks of Salem and Donnie Wilbanks of Paducah; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, A.J. Butler; a brother; a sister; her parents, Clarence and Nellie Damron Willbanks; and a stepson, Al James Butler.
Waide
James Robert Waide, 58, of Marion, passed away Sept. 25, 2005 in a motorcycle accident near Madisonville.
He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the Marines and was a member of the Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle Club.
Surviving are four daughters, Debbi Mattix of Clarksville, Sherry Robertson of Mountain Home, Ark., Jamie Waide of Nashville and Teresa Haynes of Arizona; two sisters, Wilma Brittain of Dawson Springs and Emma Ellis of Mississippi; and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Edith Virginia Hanor Waide.
Services were Oct. 1 at Gilbert Funeral Home with burial in Lakeview Cemetery in Providence.
Ramage
BURNA, Ky. - Rebecca Ramage, 90, passed away Oct. 1, 2005 at Salem Springlake Care Center. She was a member of Marion Baptist Church.
She is survived by a sister, Bess Tims of Bowling Green.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alben Ramage; and a brother, James Brasher. Her parents were William Homer and Mary Hoover Brasher.
Services were Oct. 3 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. David Winders officiating. Burial was in Old Salem Cemetery.
Nelson
BURNA, Ky. - Graveside services for Virginia Nelson, 88, were Oct. 4, 2005 at Dyer Hill Cemetery with Rev. A.C. Hodge officiating.
Surviving are a daughter, Wilma Nelson of Burna; a brother, Herman Bebout of Burna; and three sisters, Helen Wilson, Janette Sullenger and Kathryn Brooks, all of Salem.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Gray Nelson; and her parents, Carty Bebout and Nettie McElmurry Bebout.
Boyd Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Stone
Funeral services for Gary A. Stone, 55, of Marion, will be held at 11 a.m., Oct. 6, 2005 at Boyd Funeral Home. Rev. David Winders will officiate, with burial in White's Chapel Cemetery.
Stone passed away Oct. 3 at Crittenden Hospital.
Surviving are his father, James H. "Redrock" Stone of Marion; a son, Gary Nicholas (Stacey) Stone of Salem; two sisters, April Watson and Tanya Hardesty, both of Marion; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his his mother, Wanda Nell Sherer Stone; and a son, Jerry Lynn Myers.
Easley
James Alfred Easley, 86, of Marion, passed away Sept. 25, 2005 at Crittenden County Health and Rehab. He attended Marion Church of God.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Lois Easley; two daughters, Brendyth Boone of Marion and Rhee Dixon of Tyler, Texas; two sons, Lucky Darrell Easley of Edgewater, Fla., and Joe Easley of Bellville, Ill; six sisters, Mary Jane Rowe of Salem, Gladys Delnegro of Princeton, Lula Gilmore and Bonnie Hartley, both of Nashville, Lucy Tedrick of Marion and Wanda Ditty of Springfield, Ohio; three brothers, Willard Easley and Gleaford Easley, both of Marion, and Harry Easley of Princeton; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Sonny Easley; a grandson, Joey Easley; a brother; three half brothers; and a half sister. His parents were Minnie and Al Easley.
Funeral services were Sept. 28 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery. Rev. Joe Daniels officiated.
Wahl
PADUCAH, Ky. - Christopher Rothwell Wahl, 43, passed away Sept. 26, 2005 at Lourdes Hospital. He was a member of the International Operating Engineers Local 181; a member of Grace Church International; and was a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Angel Wahl; a daughter, Shelby Nichole Wahl of Marion; a stepson, Brandon Williams of Paducah; his father and stepmother, Charles Amos Wahl, Jr., and Fonda Wahl of Paducah; a brother, Charles "Chuck" Amos Wahl III of Paducah; a step-granddaughter, Addison Michelle Williams; and two grandmothers, Louise Metzger Wahl and Birtie Rothwell, both of Paducah.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Rothwell Wahl; and grandfathers, Charles "Chubby" A. Wahl, Sr., and Woodrow Wilson Rothwell.
Services will be at 1 p.m., Sept. 30 at Milner and Orr Funeral Home in Paducah with Rev. Chris Cody officiating. Burial will be on his farm near Birdsville in Livingston County.

Burt
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Carl Richard Burt, 63 of Stanton, Mich., passed away Sept. 13, 2005 at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids. Burt was a retired tool and die maker from General Motors, Oldsmobile Division in Lansing, Mich.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Dianne Burt; a son, Jamie Michael of St. Claire Shores, Mich.; a daughter, Collette Stewart of Jackson, Mich.; a sister, Patricia Thiel-Davenport of Marion; one granddaughter. and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Basil and Melba Burt of Dimondale, Mich.
Memorial services will be held at St. Bernadettes in Stanton, Mich.
