Horning
PRINCETON, Ky. - Hazel Horning, 83, passed away Aug. 13, 2005 at her home. She was of the Baptist faith.
Services were Aug. 16 at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton. Rev. J. Bill Jones and Bro. Billy Don Hearrin officiated. Burial was in Mexico Cemetery.
Surviving are a son, David Carter Fletcher of Princeton; a daughter, Marsha Sharon Batts of Waverly, Tenn.; a brother, Herbert Winters of Marion; three sisters, Violet Myers of Providence, Gertrude Paletti of Louisville and Edith Russell of Marion; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy B. Horning; her parents, R.W. Winters, Sr., and Pearl Byrd Winters; six brothers; a sister; a son, Doyle Clyde Fletcher; and a daughter, Janice Fletcher.
Walker
Randall Ray Walker, 85, of Marion, passed away Aug. 15, 2005 at Crittenden County Health and Rehab. He was a member of Marion Baptist Church, was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Walker; a son, Daryl Walker of Powderly; a brother, Eugene Walker of Salem; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janis Highfil; a brother; and his parents, Leslie and Elva Hill Walker.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Aug. 18 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Clarke officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery.

Biggs
CANTON, Ga. - Wilda Beth Biggs, 69, formerly of Marion, passed away Aug. 8, 2005 at Brian Center Nursing Home. Services will be at noon Aug. 13 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mapleview Cemetery.
Surviving are three brothers, Eddie Biggs of Louisville, Don Biggs of Davenport, Iowa and J.R. Biggs of Lafayette, La.; and several nieces and nephews.
Barkau
Lawrence William Barkau, Sr., 93, of Marion, passed away Aug. 8, 2005 at Salem Springlake Health and Rehab Center. He was a member of Marion United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Charline Barkau of Marion; a daughter, Doris Rushing of Marion; a son, Lawrence William Barkau, Jr., of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Ada Barkau of St. Louis, Mo., and Vicle Blades of Reno, Nev.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
His parents were Louis and Dora Brinkman Barkau.
Services were Aug. 10 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Garvey officiating. Burial was in Mapleview Cemetery.

Jones
Doug Jones, 63, of Marion, passed away Aug. 5, 2005 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Rosiclare, Ill.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Jones; three daughters, Amy Roberts of Marion, Karen Jones of Joy and Kristine Jones of Henderson; a brother, James William Jones of Rosiclare; three sisters, Joanne Thompson of Harrisburg, Ill., Mary Ann Anderson of Cave In Rock and Terry Banks of Harrisburg; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewey and Viola Jones; and a daughter, Sandra Lynn Jones.
Services were Aug. 8 at Gilbert Funeral Home with burial in Freedom Cemetery. Sister Lucy Tedrick officiated.
Shewcraft
FRANCES, Ky. - Mary K. "Katie" Shewcraft, 82, passed away Aug. 4, 2005 at Crittenden Hospital. She was a member of Seven Springs Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda Traylor of Evansville; a granddaughter, Jackie Bechtel of Evansville; a grandson, Robbie Traylor of Evansville; three great-grandchildren, Tosha and Teiha Bechtel and Jeffery Traylor, all of Evansville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence James "Curly" Shewcraft.
Services were Aug. 6 at Seven Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Lonnie Knight officiating. Burial was in Frances Cemetery.
Brandstetter
LEDBETTER, Ky. - Whitney LeAnn Brandstetter, 20, passed away Aug. 3, 2005 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. She was a 2003 graduate of Livingston Central High School and was a member of Second Baptist Church in Smithland.
Surviving are her parents, Jay and Cindy Brandstetter of Ledbetter; a half sister, Mandy Cooper of Ballard County; paternal grandparents, Jim Brandstetter of Smithland and Jan Brandstetter of Paducah; maternal grandparents, Jerry Fondaw of Tiline and Linda Sanders of Ballard County.
A memorial service was held Aug. 7 at Second Baptist Church of Smithland with Rev. Willie Guess officiating.
Williams
SMITHLAND, Ky. - Virginia Raye Williams, 79, passed away Aug. 1, 2005 at Western Baptist Hospital. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two daughtrs, Donna Morris of Grand Rivers and Denise Blankenship of Smithland; three sisters, Faye Bradley of Salem, Ruth Chittenden of Hampton and Jeanette Terry of Paducah; two brothers, Mark Slayden of Benton and Carl Slayden of Hobart, Ind.; and two grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mackey Ray Williams; two brothers, Tom Slayden and Teddy Slayden; and her parents, Homer Ray and Mable Johnson Slayden.
Services will be at 2 p.m., Aug. 4 at Boyd Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Grimes and Rev. Michael Birk will officiate. Burial will be in Mapleview Cemetery.
Braswell
EDDYVILLE, Ky. - Graveside services for Jacquetta Braswell, 58, formerly of Dycusburg, were held July 28 at Dycusburg Cemetery. Rev. Jim Keegan officiated.
Braswell was a former assembly line inspector for Potter & Brumfield in Marion, with 37 years of service and was a member of Dycusburg Methodist Church.
She is survived by her stepfather, Ollie Patton of Dycusburg; and a brother, Jim Patton of Dycusburg.
She was preceded in death by a son, Nathan Braswell; a brother, Paul Patton; and her mother, Jackie Wilford Patton.
Lakeland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Riley
Alice Faye Riley, 51, of Marion, passed away July 22, 2005 at Crittenden Hospital.
Surviving are a son, Jeff Riley of Princeton; two daughters, Dana Riley and Kayla Riley, both of Marion; six sisters, Alberta Taylor, Dottie Easley, Anna Easley, Betty Travis, Jane Patmor and Cheri Peek, all of Marion; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilson Jack and Lana Marie Dunning Threlkeld; and a brother.
Services were July 25 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Porter officiating. Burial was in Whites Chapel Cemetery.
